@xotheusedguyox I do like the look of the console itself, and I think the name is better than "XBox 720" or "XBox Infinity." But, yeah, the name is kind of dumb. Personally I think the 360 should just have been "XBox 2," and the new one "XBox 3."

On the other hand, I understand the name "XBox One" from a marketing standpoint; it's meant to convey that you only need this "one" thing to tie all of your home entertainment together. But marketing doesn't seem to understand that just numbering the consoles sequentially is less confusing to the casual consumer (who may remember that the PS1 was the original PlayStation in a new case, and think that XBox One is the original XBox in a new case).

@willzihang But then why would they only play the reveal on XBox Live? I would think if they were appealing to non-gamers, they would have put the reveal on regular TV, instead of only over a gaming service.

On the other hand, if they were trying to appeal to gamers, why spend half of the reveal talking about how the X1 makes it so much easier to watch TV?

As of now, I think Microsoft really doesn't know *who* they want to market to; that's why they put a mid-range PC inside a cable TV box, and then hyped it on a service where only gamers would see it.

@MoronGotMyName No, there was *one* piece. Steven Spielberg is the producer of the upcoming Halo series. The fact that we'll probably have to *pay* to watch it is not good news, but the fact that Spielberg is behind it *is*.

@vlens Nothing they showed looked much better than X360 games already out. Honestly? The CoD: Ghosts stuff looked pretty much like what was done in Halo 4. The Forza 5 stuff looked comparable to Forza 4. The EA Sports stuff looked like footage I've seen of past EA Sports games, and Quantum Break had live footage, some footage of a ship driving through a bridge that could have come from the original XBox, followed by more live footage.

@Pre_ordered_PS4 Eh. I consider myself a casual gamer, and *I* don't even want an X1, after this reveal.

@MoronGotMyName @mora616 No, it's true! That's why the X1 is all about the TV and talking to your friends while you watch TV and update your fantasy league.

Oh, and I think there was something about some games in there somewhere. Maybe.
