Its street price is but the MSRP is the same. The XT will drop to the same street price in no time. Some games gained 20%-40% going from 8.36-8.37 drivers. An analysis of its hardware shows it should be much more powerfull and the only explination is drivers. Remember the x1800xtx? At first it would win some and lose some to the 7800GTX but with driver updates it ended up winning by 20%+ in almost all games. IQ wise I cant really tell the difference. Nvidia has better AF and ATi has better AA.

The r600 trounces the G80 in shader power but it needs higher clocks to overcome its texture limitations (16/16 ROP's/TMU's vrs 24/32 on the G80). The 65nm XTX will fix that in a few months. Oh and this gen of GFX cards has no baring on who will be the best in 4 years. Its been going back and forth for a long time.

Square left N64 in the dust when they discovered Nintendo decided on a lesser storage cart medium.  Square wanted more storage capacity for Final Fantasy games and went to PlayStation.  Yes, there was Crystal Chronicles for GameCube, but it was much smaller than FFX for PS2.   

Xbox 360 uses the DVD9 format and has less storage than Blu-Ray.  Square Enix goes to the console with the most storage capacity for their "true" Final Fantasy games.  There will never be a FFXIII for Xbox 360.  There might be a Final Fantasy game for 360, but it won't be FFXIII.  If there is a FF game for 360, it will be a generic one with not much effort thrown in from devs just like Crystal Chronicles was for GameCube.

FF games were on 5 plus CD's on the PS. Why would they care if FF12 was on 3-4 DVD9's?

Oblivion and FN3 had a year of extra dev time. Getting a new mass effect every two years is awsome for 360 owners.

Im just curious. Lets say for instance that the 360 didnt have Halo 3 and Gears, and all it had was its mediocre titles such as Lost Planet, Dead rising, Crackdown etc. Why should someone own a 360?!  Basically what im saying is.. Pretend I didnt own a 360 and I wanted someone to sell me on a 360. Im a Casual gamer and not into RPGs, so Mass Effect nor bioshock would be a selling point. I like Shooters, Racers and good action packed games.. So convince me why should I own a 360.. Again lets pretend Halo and Gears didnt even exist...

The point of this thread is Phil Harrison was right when he said a few months back. He simply said he respected the Halo franchise but he also said its dangerous to build a console on only one franchise.. And he was right.  I mean lets face it, Gears and Halo are the system sellers for the 360 like it or not.. While Mass effect and bioshock might be great games, they wouldnt move consoles like Gears and halo does.

Honestly Im not trying to bash the 360 even though it might sound like it. I own a 360 and enjoy it greatly BUT I will admit that if it wasnt for Gears and Halo, I wouldnt even take a second look at the 360. Sure it might have some ok games... But not anything to warrant paying $400.00  you might say "but the PS3 is $600.00 and it has no titles either" Well yes, you are true BUT in the future it will have a lot more titles actually worth the price tag as opposed to other titles that are mediocre and are worth rentals at best.

Why not?  The gave ES4 for 360 a 9.6, it was under-rated. 

Um Oblivion averaged 94% at gamerankings. Fallout and Fallout 2 were are 91% and 86% respectivily. If your going to bash GS you have to bash the whole critic community.

From studying the HD videos its obvious that technically the graphics are very good. The textures are extremely detailed and most of them are normal mapped. The player models are very high polly with lots of detail, the lighting, water and special effects are awesome. The only problem is that the levels are extremely bland and undetailed with little variation. Anyone else agree?
