[QUOTE="TacticalElefant"]I'm boycotting this game and the dev for truly selling out. Freaking copying sell outs who can't just create an original IP, destroying all the hard work they already did just to create a GeoW clone all for the possibility of higher sales being a cloned game. **** I was looking so forward to the original concept of Dark Sector. They broke my heart.hillelslovak

Dude, get a life. Its just a game......

It may be a game but the intention of what they are doing is very lowly and underhanded. It's uninspiring for the industry and a real testiment to how bad cookie cutting has become amongst developers.

Or just buy another PS2 is you're desperate to play PS2 games. Software emulation has lots of issues, and would require constant updates I'm sure. But I guess it depends on your needs/usage.

[QUOTE="TacticalElefant"]The game in most likelyhood will be rendered in 720p then upscaled to higher resolution like most games that "support" 1080p. Very few games are actually rendered at 1920 x 1080p as it's very intensive on the graphics processor and memory. The "next gen" consoles were terribly equiped to do full HD with only 8 ROPs (render output processors) on their graphics hardware. More surprising is how the PS3's RSX GPU didn't have 16 ROPs like the G71 core the RSX is based off of which was also used in the GeForce 7800 graphics cards. Bad decision who ever made it. f50p90
Consoles are always gimped to keep prices down. If they were optimal prices would be through the roof like gaming rigs. :(

Considering it's the exact same GPU as the 7800, the engineering out/dissabling of the other 8 ROPs was either an attempt to save a little bit of money and manufacturing time (of which in reality would be not much) or to save a bit of power on the energy usage front (which would be minimalistic too). Also they probably concluded that without the necessary extra VRAM it might have not been such a viable need, however I'm sure that could easily be argued. And for "optimal prices" that would mean a mediation between profit and marketable cost for consumers, to which the PS3 has some expensive tech (Cell Broadband Engine and Blu-Ray drive) however people don't like paying too much money. That's why initially the PS3 was so expensive. I don't even know if Sony is making a profit manufacturing and selling a PS3 console in any of it's packages yet. I doubt they are breaking even yet.

Call of Duty 4 is a must for any of the 3 platforms. Rainbow Six Vegas 1 or 2 are both good on the PS3, honestly I prefer the first one. Um, that's all I can think of right now.

The only BC PS3's from now on will be ones with software BC emulation. If you can track down a 60 GB or 20 GB PS3 from the original run of North American machines, I'd highly recommend it. If not, just go out and buy a PS2.

Why does the PS3 need another mediocre game? Halo 3 wasn't that good. Great seeing CoD4 come out as a multiplatform and tearing Halo 3 a new one in terms of being a good game (have it on PC) and pretty much agreed on as being much superior at least multiplayer wise. Halo was a console game revolution for FPSs, Halo 2 was an online console revolution, Halo 3 in some cases was a backwards step in terms of graphics and playabilitiy. IE IT WASN'T THAT GOOD, AND EVEN THE PREVIOUS ONES WERE NOT THAT ENTERTAINING AS WELL.

Far Cry.

Download for free from any site that has it (it's advertising supported). Just need a free ubi.com account to activate it.

STALKER is also pretty complex.

cobrax25

Beat me to it. It's not only complex, but insanely hard. I've played it on the 2nd lowest difficulty out of the 5 settings. It was a **** Rewarding game though, however the story depending on your path is a bit too simple and carrying out the MMOish tasks can be very tedious at times. Still a great game with lots of production values. Worth the play.
