There is no doubt that this game is a lot more than DCU.

This is the probably *the* most important game launch ever for EA.

A huge amount of money, time and prestige has been pumped into ToR and BioWare is going to do everything in their power to make it a success.

I think we can expect a very solid MMO, which moves the genre forward in terms of creating an interesting narrative in an MMO, but probably does not otherwise revolutionize the genre.

It seems pretty clear that BioWare is content to use "standard" MMO mechanics for much of the game, such as the classic DPS/Healer/Tank trinity and the talent tree structure popularized by WoW.

I have already preordered and am looking forward to trying out ToR in a couple of months time :)

This is a really fun game, in my opinon.

Like all the Total War games you should allow for a fairly sharp learning curve in the beginning. There are a lot of aspects to take in and keep track of, but once you have the basics down it becomes a ton of fun.

And the replay value is fairly high, playing through the campaign as various nations.

That's actually a really great price for that game.

Many hours of samurai commanding fun!

So either I've found a completely new bug in this game or there is something seriously obvious that I am overlooking.

I'm just going to see mr. Freeze for the first time and I'm at the GPCD building.

I have seen online video walkthroughs that you are *supposed* to shoot at the electrical engine thingie above the vehicle entry hatch and then glide under the doorway, but when I fire my EMP onto the engine, it starts running but the door doesnt move an inch!

I have been unable to find any reason as to why this is happening. There doesnt seem to be any buttons I need to push, and I've even cleared out all the enemies around the building.

I've tried standing right next to the door and starting the engine and standing far away. No reaction.

Am I doing something wrong here?!

I don't think as a whole that multiplayer has had a negative impact on games.

There are still plenty of great singleplayer games out there like The Witcher 2, Batman or Mass Effect (and yeah, that's getting a multiplayer addition in the next iteration, I know).

But a few franchises have certainly shifted their focus from being primarily a singleplayer game to being more focused on the multiplayer experience.

CoD is probably the largest example of this in a AAA title.

Overall though, I don't think that adding multiplayer needs to have a negative impact on the campaign of a game, though.

I don't think Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood suffered at all from having a multiplayer mode added, for example.

If you are into RTS games then I can wholly recommend Dawn of War 2 as an excellent both single and multiplayer experience

Games are as great as ever. Probably the best they have ever been, really.

If you're finding yourself not into modern games, maybe you're either

A) not really into games that don't work like your old classics

B) maybe you're just not feeling gaming as much anymore

4-5 years ago I had kind of a "dead period", where I didn't game a lot and I wasn't really feeling the new games, but now I'm enjoying games as much as I did when I was a kid.

Sometimes your gaming interesting will just go up or down a bit

I know you say you don't like Dawn of War, but I don't know if you've tried Dawn of War 2?

That's a game that has a lot more focus on the tactics and using your units and not just build up a big ball of death and fight.

Works the same as with Steam, so it'll end up on the account of purchase
