BONUS: as explained here and there throughout the movie, the Republic has no public army. they are a political party. can you blame the Galaxy that went from the Republic to the EMPIRE with a massive army that conquered the Galaxy? no way are they going to let them have an army!! The Resistance is like their black ops unit.

@Incubus420: Interesting theories. I am leaning towards thinking Finn is Force sensitive, but I'd be perfectly happy if he's not. He's just a great character already.

I really doubt Rey is Luke's daughter. I'll be fine with it If that's the direction they go, but it just seems forced. she was abandoned on Jakku when she was 4 or 5 years old. and VERY Force sensitive. that's interesting enough.

feeling the Force from Luke's saber I took that scene to be like Luke entering the cave on Dagobah. it was strong with the Force and showed her what she wanted/didn't want to see. period.

@dnsfw_jamus: I agree with jamus, I'd prefer it if Rey had no family connections by blood. Same with Finn. I feel like making Rey a Skywalker is too easy, and diminishes her significance. Also like Jamus said, there were opportunities for people to recognize her that didn't, so I don't think it's going to happen.

@Tyranastrasz: My guess is that the New Republic and the First Order are - publicly - in a "cold war" so to speak. they would lose support if they engaged in war. Especially the Republic, I imagine the Galaxy is not letting them have an army because that went so badly last time (Republic army became the Empire...)

The First Order has been building an army and building Starkiller Base but probably not very publicly. Heck, they are stealing kids and brainwashing them to be Stormtroopers, not exactly public recruitment. :p

@Mogan: He could have just read his mind. Finn wouldn't have noticed if Kylo Ren just read a surface memory like his name.
