@Mogan: fair enough. sometimes even heroes need their sidekicks for moral support and such. :)

one thing I brought up in a similar discussion was that the space battle AND the light saber battle at the end of the movie MATTERED. if you look at ROTJ for example, which had both, the Rebel assault on the Death Star only needed Han's team on Endor taking out the shield generator and Lando leading a starship assault. Luke's light saber battle didn't destroy the Death Star. Episode 1 was handled the same way: ground (Gungans vs Droids) and space (starships including Anakin *groan* attacking Droid mother ship) mattered and the light saber battle (Qui Gon and Obi Wan versus Darth Maul) did NOT matter.

at least this movie, both battles mattered.

@sanform: I think Finn has a decent skill set, just as handy with a blaster as say Lando or any other trooper. and some insider knowledge about how the First Order operates. and yeah, hopefully some Force sensitivity.

as for Rey, you said it yourself "by the end of the movie" she's accepted her destiny and lost her fear of it. That's character growth. I think she still has a coming challenge, though, in that she'll have to be taught to control the Force and not be seduced by the Dark Side.

@ManicMasochist: The Resistance planning meeting, someone said they had built a hyperdrive inside the planet. so yes, it can travel through space.

I think a lot of the unanswered questions trace back to not knowing how much time has passed since Ben Solo became Kylo Ren.

When did he turn to the Dark Side? When did Luke disappear into space? 3 years ago? 5? 15?

R2D2 having the "Empire" maps makes sense because he downloaded it but didn't NEED it. but it was like deep in his memory. suddenly everyone wants it. so he went into low power mode (think of using hypnosis to recall repressed memories, or recompiling fragmented data on a hard drive) to try to remember. I think BB8 "woke him up" by telling him that he had the last piece of missing data.

@glevans: That's what I kept saying. it definitely was NOT easy, it took infiltrating on the ground, setting off explosives, AND dog fighting in space to take it out. it took what in movie time, half an hour?

@Mogan:

I dunno, I thought it was kinda sweet that the only thing Finn cared about was rescuing Rey. It just happened to coincide with the Resistance's plans to destroy Starkiller Base.

But either way, yeah, I hope Finn is Force sensitive, too. I liked how the earlier part of the movie they kept the audience guessing who was "awakening."

@Saidrex: YES. I agree with Saidrex. DVDs. Blu Ray. flash drives. analog sticks. touch screens. rumble. 3D. all gimmicks but look how much gaming has advanced because of them.

@Baconstrip78: agreed/

there are plenty of sources for "classic" gaming choices: mobile game, smart phones, DS, indie games, etc. but I'm alway looking for better and deeper experiences.

@kozzy1234: I'm tempted to agree. I want to love Halo 5 but there has to be connection issues. some games I got 25 and 10. and then another game I'll go 5 and 15. I'm not going to break a controller over it, but something is going wrong.
