I'm sure I will (and many gamers, for that matter) be busy enough with Valhalla. It's sad that Halo won't be available, but that gives us time to enjoy some of the other holiday releases. :)
@mogan: beat me to it. I think I remember Sony saying that they wouldn't announce their price until Microsoft does. My guess is that is exactly why: They know Microsoft can announce something cheaper if Sony goes first. :p
@saturatedbutter: and they also were hoping to allow trade-ins or credits for used digital games, and allow for up to 10 people to share 1 digital game. that didn't happen, either. :(
@PrpleTrtleBuBum: it's possible that the cross generation might be only really necessary in the first year - but that's assuming most people will be early adopters and that's probably not true. not just that, but I can envision households "upgrading" their main entertainment center to the next generation, but keeping the current generation in other rooms. like hand-me-downs to their kids. and that could stay that way, for those households, for years. BUT they will all still be able to play together, across generations, from multiple rooms/systems. :)
way to go, Microsoft, continuing their trend of being very consumer friendly. I guess we can't expect every developer/publisher to comply with "Smart Delivery" but at least MSFT will lead the way and most will follow. :)
