Why was the guy there and what language was he speaking?

Many Xbox 360 owners have moved across to the obviously better PS4 and so there will be many new customers willing to buy this up (me included).

This looks like the most boring game I could imagine. Gaming for kids. Yet GS give it a 9? I guess Microsoft are twisting a few arms in their push to promote this exclusive title.

@subzero1980 I believe they created a new engine because they have always intended to launch it on next gen after they've sold enough current gen.

I really doubt it will be quite as good as Dark Souls. Leveling at bonfires and having terse and often unintelligible interactions with other characters made the player feel remote and alone in the world in DS. And the story was incredible but below the surface and not spoon fed. I can't see them topping that in DS2 and the fact an NPC levels the player up and you can warp around in between bonfires doesn't sit well with me.

Having said that, I love the fact that From has not sat back on its laurels. If this were an EA game there would be no innovation, just more of the same. However, From have now implemented dual-wielding, left-handed fighting, short and long cast spells, being able to pull out of a spell cast, healing on the move, torches that effect what you can see and how far you can target, guard breaking, sprinting up ladders, 3 weapons per hand, pyromancy which scales of faith and intelligence, new stats such as adaptability and the fact attunement increases spell cast speed, upgradeable catalyst, gradual hollowing with reduced health, enhanced durability damage, parrying, backstabbing, etc etc.

They've certainly tried their best to improve upon the original. I can't wait until it's out over here on Friday.

Oh no, I love stealth games. Played the original Tenchu to death when it came out, and Splinter Cell, etc. This just looks like stealth-lite to me. Easy yet restrictive = boring.

I have zero interest in this. Looks dull as dishwater. Roll on Dark Souls 2.

Rome 2: Total War has to be pretty high up the list surely.

Most importantly - have they fixed the bugs of the original???

@Uangry @Thathanka I'm not discussing my opinion. The facts are that many of the game mechanics are/were broken. This review doesn't touch on them. There are a lot. Has the car damage model been improved and made more realistic? What about the penalty system that been erroneously and inconsistently applied in each of the previous games? Has the contract negotiation been expanded upon? etc etc.

A game review should not simply be they have mode (a) and mode (b) and there's weather and there's some cars. It should be an assessment of how the game operates. It's strengths and weaknesses.
