Ugh, not another "x game is overrated" thread. The internet already has enough of these. As of this moment, the word overrated is overrated. Yeah, I said it.

I'm going to be flamed in 1... 2... 3...

The only games that were worth AAA status were 1, 2, AND 3. The series has been declining since.

I love fixing other people's posts for teh truth!

But seriously, Halo 2 had the worst campaign in the series, before Reach and probably ODST. The godawful boss battles, small enviroments, and lack of any real memorable set-pieces made it the inferior. The story was pretty interesting, until the "ending". MP wise? It's was great for it's time, but it had the worst weapon balance in the series... until Reach came out.

halo. especially reach. seriously wtf?

soulitane

I know right? I mean, who could hate Reach's broke and unbalance multi-player? Not to mention it's campaign disguised as a six hour FireFight mode. Also, who could forget bloom and Armor Lock. No one could possibly hate Reach for that.

Then again, it does get undeserved hate from the haters who dismiss it as "itz juz anoder gaylo gaem!". In reality, the game plays differently from prior Halo games.

I don't hate Halo: Reach, but I view Reach the same way I view Call of Campers: Modern Brokefare 2.

Why start this thread if you're just going to jump on peoples opinions? Anyway I'll say the fable series.

He asked, and I answered.

Brownie points to whoever gets the reference.

ooooh... good one. RE5 was WAAAAY better than people give it credit for.

I view RE5 the same way I view F.E.A.R. 2. It's not as good as it's predecessor, but it's solid game.

Fable 2 and 3.

And I'll put up Mass Effect 2 in there as well.

LegatoSkyheart

Mass Effect 2 > Mass Effect. I like both games a lot, but Mass Effect 2 was clearly the superior.

[QUOTE="Funconsole"]Fable gets too much hate. If you tone down your expectations and not take anything P.M says for granted, then it's a surprisingly good game. I quite enjoyed Fable IIDragonfireXZ95
So if you lower your standards, you can enjoy the game? That's actually pretty pathetic. lol That's like saying, if you lower your standards, you can enjoy dating a fat trailer trashy person who beats you.

I think he means expectations, not standards. There's a difference between the two.

I have to say that the Fable series isn't bad. The first game was an overhyped disappointment, and didn't live up to it's potential. But it was still a decent, casual RPG that's fun to play in short bursts. Fable II was an improvement, not great. Fable III is the worst of them all, it isn't bad, but it certainly was watered down.

If find it ironic how you bash others for having low standards for enjoying the Fable games, while you scored Prototype a 9.0. A game which doesn't live up to it's potential, and was over-hyped. But it was simple, shallow fun game none the less.

Does anyone take AngryJoe seriously? I mean, he's not much better than any "professional" editor for any big name gaming website. He's just as bad, but worse due to how cringe inducing his sense of humor is. He's one of the unfunniest game "critics" I've ever seen.

Legolas_Katarn

I rarely find him funny (on his own show, his cameos and role in Kickassia were really good) and disagree with a lot of what he says. However, I do take him "seriously", the thing is, I check reviews not for one persons opinion but for facts. I know that when Angry Joe posts a review he isn't lying about the things he says and he will talk about what he thinks is a problem. Maybe I can ignore what he doesn't like or maybe I might actually like what he sees as a negative but I look at different reviews to know what is in the game. When I look at this list of problems with Fable 3 I see a lot of things that will actually really bother me, unless I see someone posting a video response saying, "no none of that is true and here is my gameplay footage proving that he is a liar", his opinions help me decide on if I want to buy something or not.

He's certainly more honest than most "professional" game critics, but the tends to over-exagerrate; this is no more appaerant than his review for Civ V. Also, while I agree that B:BC 2 is better than Modern Warfare 2, the fact that he crowned Modenr Warfare 2 as the king of console online multi-player before BC2, certainly says something.

Heh, I find it funny and ironic how many critics cite Haze's multi-player as unbalance. Yet they never mention balance when they "reviewed" Modern Warfare 2. I'm not saying Haze isn't unbalance, but it certainly wasn't as broken as Modern Brokefest 2.

Keep on hating little one. He's more of a entertainer then a reviewer anyways.

For an entertainer, he's painfully unfunny and takes his reviews quite seriously.
