[QUOTE="TheEngima683"]I never said Reach is a bad game, it's just bad compared to prior Halo titles. It's a fun game and all, but it's not the "definitive" Halo experience as Bungie hyped it up to be. It's a good game, but not a great one. Fair enough, your opinion not mine.Thank you for being civil about it.... Then again, I can be a bit of a jackass. *sigh* Not in a good mood today.[QUOTE="soulitane"] Not really, you keep saying it's a bad game, them things don't make it a bad game.soulitane

I already added MGS4, but added too many games on my list. There were just so many disappointing game sequels this gen. Developers should just abandon these popular franchises, and then move on with something new.[QUOTE="TheEngima683"]
[QUOTE="jasonharris48"]
Add Soul Calibur 4, Tekken 6, Ninja Gaiden 2, Metal Gear Solid 4 (story and character wise), Silent Hill Homecoming to the list.

Heres the thing though. Its your opinion. To me MGS4 is the second best MGS. Just cause you thought a certain game was a disapointment doesint mean they should drop it just for you. I found RE5 a disapointment. It just didint feel like a RE game. Thoug it was fun. Im not praying for the devs to drop the RE francise since I still like the series. RE5 disapointed me but whos to say the next will.
I'm probably going to scream if someone says "dude! itz leik yur opinon!" again.[QUOTE="TheEngima683"]Not necessarily, because there are things that are legitimately bad. It's so easy to use "take my opinion" phrase to shut down criticism and taste. [QUOTE="TheEngima683"]Yup, I miss the frustrating repetitive time based missions of the old GTA games too.[QUOTE="Verge_6"]
FC2- I shot this game with an AK. Nothing else needs to be said
Mercenaries 2- EA turned this into Airstrikes: The Game. Lucasart's trademark charm was sorely needed.
GTA4- "Hey guys, let's take out all the things that made the prior GTAs fun, like over the top zaniness and rampages, and replace them with dark storylines and repetitive point A to point B drive sequences!"
Conviction- It's Splinter Cell....without the stealth. Or the tactics. Or the mission structure we came to know and love last generation. Or the awesome multiplayer.
Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway- What NOT to do with a franchise that centers around squad-based fireteams and tactics; turn it into a drama game chock-full of solo missions, arcade tank segments, and throw in cursed 1911 pistols and ghosts. Oh, and make things so laughably surreal that Apocalypse Now would balk.

You mean the same ones that were present in GTA4, except time was replaced with minimum distance from target? Might wanna try again...No, there were time missions in GTAIV, but they Rockstar North gave the player a fair enough of time, unlike prior GTA games. Cry some moar!If you thought the beta was dull, wait till you play the full game. It's actually worse than the beta.[QUOTE="TheEngima683"]

I'm not going to go into great detail, but I'll name a few :)
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - I just thought it was awful. End of story :P One of the worst games I've ever played.
Halo Reach - I played the beta (I know I know), and just got bored of it very quickly, and this is coming from someone with over 2,000 games in Halo 3 multiplayer
God of War 3 - I never played the first two games, but I must say I was incredibly disappointed by this game :P It goes up there with CoD4 for me.

Yes because Campaign, forge, custom games, firefight,re-balancing, new maps, arena, extended armoury,a bunch of community made maps in matchmaking and a whole ton of other stuffmade it worse.

lol Wut noble team was way better than those ODSTs Just becasue theres no dialogue doesnt ean you cant learn something in the cutscenes they way noble moves acts how the vice drops yet rises as they find out about jorge how they have a rush for the fight, little emotion had to be shown cause Spartans have little emotion only a mission. but anyway thats just an undertanding you can have a whole diferent oneFirst off, quit the internet speak, it's freaking childish.[QUOTE="TheEngima683"]
To respond to workknow222 post:
I could care less if Bungie took liberties with the canonical backstory, all I care for is for is decent writing. The storytelling in Reach was downright poor. Prior Halo games never had remarkable storytelling, but they contain the depth of a Earnest Hemingway novel compared to Reach. Even ODST had better character developtment than Reach, and that was just a 5 hour expansion pack.

Also, Bungie intended to humanize Spartans in Reach. But their wasted their effort into making cardboard cut-outs. The Spartans in the book were much more humanized. First off, there's nothing special about Jorge. He's just another big-guy-with-the-heart-of-gold stereo-type. Noble Team consisted of nothing more of stock, dull, and generic archetypes. It's obviously Bungie spent more time thinking about how each would die, then actually exploring their personalities.
