--they tried a sonic 3d(sonic 3d blast) to compete with mario 64(of course "blast" was still on genesis vs a 5th gen system) --it was PRETTY bad(being criticized overall at about a 6.5/10) --the main mechanics that 'made sonic what it was' --just didnt 'fit into' a 3dimensional landscape(as easily as mario did) --so --im pretty sure that is why they replaced sonic with "Nights" for the 5th gen console release(the sega saturn) --Nights flowed smoothly and gracefully in a 3d environment) --and --i have fond memories of playing Nights(back in 96-97) --but --looking back(20 years) --it was a pretty ridiculous(odd) gameplay mechanic(but still a worthy contender of 'something different'~brave move~not putting sonic up to help sell their fresh new saturn~and using a genre(gameplay mechanic) that had never been used~and has never been copied)
--look at what they done to reimigine pac-man with the pacman CE(and cedx+) --they just took the regular ole pac-man formula --but they brought it into modern times
--it seems simple enough --but pacman was an ancient 'maze style' of genre(hardly used in any other franchise) --whereas --side scrollers(became HUGE and) are still current(even games like deadlight bringing them 'into the future' still) --the side scroller platform is a perfect place to build a 'new' game(or refresh --but --the only thing 'magical' about sonic has already been done --and then hammered home to infinity --it would be like bringing the older side scrolling ninja gaiden back --there was a time for it --and it has just passed --what made sonic so appealing(it its earliest days) --was the graphics looked better than ANYTHING nintendo made --and then the SPEEED --so --how are you gonna winover anyone with "graphics" on a side scroller --and like ive said --they have done the sonic speed thing to death --and lets face it(almost 30 years later) --mario's gameplay was just WAY MORE 'fun and delightful' than sonic ever was
--the tmnt group of 4 --that is an exact replica from the original movie(s) --let me tell you a story --about a 9 year old little fella --who LOVED TMNT more than life itself --but had only ever seen them as cartoons --who one day saw a trailer --for a movie --were the TMNTs are real
@wtf_666: --ive already changed my opinion --i now think they were both working together the whole time --and here 'near release' they created this faux lawsuit --to build controversial news to support the launch --because --it didnt take pokemon go to teach us that --controversial news --is the best news to push a product
@kidcitrus: --it is EXTREMELY open world(VERY much 'sandbox') --and you just 'run around freely' more like hack and slashing enemies --and you drive cars --im not saying it is a 'car crime' game(ha) --all i was saying was/is --that compared to ANY JRPG(even other FFs) --FF15 is "more like" GTA(not "exactly like" i said "more like")
--gta is open world/sandbox/car crime --ff15 is open world/free roam/monster hunting based hack and slash(and you have vehicles)
@chiefwiggum16: --yeah --it is definitely not turn based --i think it is more hack and slashy(with kinda a unique twist on it) --here is a GS video about how the combat works
@lonesamurai1: --yeah --ill play it --i think the game will be epic --but cha gotta stay young friend --we may not have our youth --but it doesnt mean we cant enjoy things that make us feel young
@lonesamurai1: --looks strange? --would you prefer it be grim and dead --like EVERY SINGLE adventure game for YEARS?? --it is something new --it is ok to try new things --quit being such an old man --and slow your walmart-scooter down( and quit shaking your fist in the air) --you might run over a dropped candybar or something
@sirchick: --hell --i was only assuming --the two might have been working together the whole time --planning on dropping 'this news' a few weeks before launch --to get some hyped up publicity
--im sure if NMS knew they were using someone else's patented tech --they had already made proper planning to use it --before they went to far with such a huge AAA gaming project
