Ha, Can't Believe I Never Noticed This

When thinking up my username, I used "Theo," Greek for "God," and "Khoth," which was just a product of my imagination.

Just now I discovered Thoth, the Egyptian god of knowledge and. . . .writing.

Eery how close my username came to be about a god of writing and knowledge.:lol:

This is further evidenced by the fact that Dora the Explorer and Go Diego Go are the same exact damn show. The only difference is the Y Chromosome and Dora the Explorer's greater appeal to boys.

GameSpot's Declaration of Independence

I took the liberty (lol, pun) of writing our Declaration of Independence.

When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the phone lines which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the ToUs of Teh Intrawebs and of Teh Intraweb's Mods entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We the Users, hold these truths to be self-pwning, that all men (and only men, as there are no women on the Internet) are registered newbs, that they are endowed by their Administrator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Posts, Videos and the pursuit of Points. — That to secure these rights, Websites are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the trolls, — That whenever any Form of ToS becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the Users to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Websites, laying its foundation on such pwnage and organizing its hax in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Post Count and Mod History. Flaming, indeed, will dictate that GameSpot long established should not be changed for fail and newb causes; and accordingly all win hath shewn that mankind are more disposed to be modded, while evils are moddable than to pwn themselves by abolishing the terms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of mod abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Level evinces a design to reduce them under absolute e-anarchy, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such GameSpot, and to provide new Mods for their future security. — Such has been the patient sufferance of these Forums; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former System Wars of GameSpot. He has refused his Assent to Terms of Use, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.

He has forbidden his GameSpotters to pass Terms of immediate and pressing epic win, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.

He has refused to pass other Terms for the accommodation of large districts of Users, unless those users would relinquish the right of Posting in the Message Boards, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.

He has called together legislative Admins at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their Posting History, for the sole purpose of trolling them into compliance with his measures.

He has dissolved Unions repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the win of the users.

He has refused for a long time, after such phail, to cause others to be elected, whereby the mods, incapable of Annihilation, have returned to the users at large for their speedy typing; the Forum remaining in the mean time exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within.

He has endeavoured to prevent the population of these Forums; for that purpose obstructing the Terms of Use for Naturalization of Fanboys; refusing to pass others to encourage their fanboyism hither, and raising the conditions of new Appropriations of Topics.

He has obstructed the Administration of Pwnsome by refusing his Assent to Terms of Use for establishing Mod Powers.

He has made mods dependent on his Will alone for the tenure of their profiles, and the amount and payment of their free benefits.

He has erected a multitude of N00b Profiles, and sent hither swarms of mods to harass our users and eat out their substance.

He has kept among us, in times of peace, Trolls and Flamers without the "" of our mods.

He has affected to render the System Wars independent of and superior to the OT Board.

He has combined with trolls to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our Terms of Service, and unacknowledged by our rules; giving his Assent to their Acts of Disruptive Posting:

He has abdicated Web Domain here, by declaring us out of his Protection and waging System War against us.

He has plundered our profiles, ravaged our videos, burnt our unions, and destroyed the "lives" of our users.

He is at this time transporting large Armies of Anonymous Trolls to compleat the works of bans, suspensions, and point losses, already begun with circumstances of Bans and Suspensions scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy the Head of a high-tech website.

He has constrained our fellow Users taken Captive on the Internet Seas to bear Arms against their Website, to become the executioners of their friends lists and Brethren, or to fall themselves by their Blog Posts.

He has excited flame wars amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless YouTubers whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions.

In every stage of these Oppressions We have Asked the Mods for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Mod, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Troll, is unfit to be the ruler of a free website.

Nor have We been wanting in attentions to our GiantBomb bruthas. We have warned them from time to time of attempts by their legislature to extend an unwarrantable jurisdiction over us. We have reminded them of the circumstances of our Google search and settlement here. We have appealed to their native justice and complex vocabulary, and we have conjured them by the ties of our common winness to disavow these phailures, which would inevitably interrupt our line connections and correspondence. They too have been deaf to the voice of 1337 and of consanguinity. We must, therefore, acquiesce in the necessity, which denounces our Awesomeness, and hold them, as we hold the rest of mankind, Enemies in System Wars, in Off-Topic Friends.

We, therefore, the Representatives of the united Forums of GameSpot, in General Discussion, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Mod of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the UserName, and by Authority of the good Users of these Unions, solemnly publish and declare, That these united Forums are, and of Win ought to be Free and Independent Boards, that they are Absolved from all Allegiance to the GameSpot Administration, and that all Internet connection between them and the Board of CNET, is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as Free and Independent Boards, they have full Power to levy System Wars, conclude Peace, contract Alliances, establish Unions, and to do all other Acts and Things which Independent Boards may of right do. — And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Win, we mutually pledge to each other our Profiles, our Post Counts, and our sacred Levels.

About the Union

I can't start the union right now, because five of the eight users I picked for officer positions are either affiliated (even by invite) with too many unions or they already accepted a charter invite to another union in the past thirty days. Here are the users I invited:

Status Report on the OT Revolution

I haven't started it yet. Here's why:

I've been involved in certain legal matters recently and have been in court from 7:00AM to 7:00PM on some occasions. I have five papers to write by Monday. I have to work at a festival at school tomorrow, and have been spending a chunk of the past two weeks planning for it. Finally I've been dealing with some stressful situations at home.

So overall, I'm too exhausted/overburdened for a story. And since this story will probably be the longest of the three (I'm not certain yet), odds are you're going to be waiting at least another two to four weeks. Sorry.

No excerpts, for two reasons:

1. In the OT Conspiracy thread, I made a prize for anyone who could guess a certain unknown aspect of the story, and one user guessed it. That one user will get the excerpt, as well as a major role in the third part.

2. I haven't written any of the story yet, so I have no excerpts to share, even to the winner.

So I just want you guys to know, I will write it, but it's going to be quite a while.
