Oh my god...
Dude, if you don't know anything about computers, just take some time to learn, and be aware that it takes a lot of money for PC gaming.

If you don't have enough money or patience to learn about what the hell you're doing with computers, don't bother.

I'd recommend just getting an Xbox 360 or PS3, and playing Unreal Tournament 3 on there.

Umm... Your current computer really doesn't sound bad at all... Why not just sell your graphics card and get a card from the 9000 series when it's available? But yeah, I'd say if you ABSOLUTELY had to sell your computer, sell it for about $1100

Yeah, Jericho seemed pretty fun to me. I liked how it wassquad-based, but not in a boring way. I liked the different kinds of weapons too. I probably wouldn't buy it for $50, but it was a fun game.

I downloaded the Unreal Tournament 3 demo a few days ago... The gameplay is awesome, but I'm getting framerates of 20 and 30 fps... This really sucks, because I was hoping that my computer would max games like this just fine, which is not the case. I don't know if it's just my computer... Gamespot got 80fps on a resolution just a little bit lower than mine, so why are my framerates so bad?

As far as my rig, I have a 640mb 8800gts, 2gb Dual Channel RAM, an AMD X2 5400 CPU, and Windows Vista (big mistake)... Could my CPU be holding me back...? I have 163.69 forceware drivers for my graphics card.

I really feel like giving up on all of this... If anyone could help, I'd appreciate it.

Eh... That's one BIG mistake I made. I have an 8800gts and AMD X2 5400, yet I decided to waste $230 on a 850-Watt Power Supply... I could've used that for a GTX or better CPU instead...

Umm... Well, Jericho is demanding, so is Time Crysis. They only have demos available for the moment, but they both look great.

y do you say vista was a mistake im getting it later is there something i should be worried about:|sabbath2gamer

Well... For one thing, Vista is a complete memory hog. I think it generally lowers framerates anywhere from 5 to 10fps, and there are a lot of performance issues.

What resolution are you running.what do you have running in the background. Do you have AA and AF on. Do you have V-Sync onacsguitar

I'm running it at 1680x1050, nothing but xfire, fraps, and all of vista's "system processes" crap in the background. I maxed out everything that was available in the game menu.

[QUOTE="zbiggie"]id say go with the 360, just because there will be less bugs, and dx10 wont make much of a differece ATLReppa770

So, once again, no one has read what I've typed in my past posts. The DirectX 10 version of the game doesn't work on my computer, it just crashes, the DX 9 version works perfectly though. All I would like to know now is how many players there are online on the PC version.

I'm really not sure how many people play, I doubt it's extremely populated, but considering it's a fairly new game, I'm sure there are plenty of servers you'll be able to choose from. Like I said about the DirectX10 thing, you probably only have the DirectX9 software right now, even though your card supports DirectX10. Try downloadingDirectX10 from Microsoft's website, and then after installing it you should have no problems.
