Don't forget the 3 month learning curve... Lol.
Well, there is a steap learning curve, but its really not THAT bad. If anything its a good indicator to just how much there is to do in the game. You can be anything from a mercenary, to a miner, a bounty hunter, a pirate, or a manufacturer. The best thing for new players to do is to find a player corporation to join, and let them help you out.
Yeah, it seems interesting... But I'm the kind of person who doesn't have a whole lot of patience. I usually quit a game right away when they seem too complicated (which is probably WoW's fault because of its 2nd grader simplicity).
Yeah you can roam around doing your own thing if you want to, but there's only so much you can do. The gameplay is linear for the most part, meaning you play it straight through the story. After you beat it, you can always look for certain things you didn't collect through the game. It's a fun game, but it doesn't last very long, though for $20 it's a pretty good deal.

Burning Crusade requires and original copy of World of Warcraft. If you plan on buying the Burning Crusade, make sure you like WoW first. I recommend playing the regular WoW for at least a month, and if you've gotten bored already, just don't buy the Burning Crusade, because when it all comes down to it, the burning crusade is just more of the same.
V-Sync just refreshes the game to the same fraction of your monitors refresh rate. In other words, it helps get rid of "Screen Tearing" (You know, the little lines that move up the screen sometimes?) If it's causing problems, then just disable it. It's not very important, but on certain monitors it just makes things seem to run a whole lot smoother. However, it does put the framerate cap to 60fps when you enable it.
Yeah, like I said, just leave it turned off if it is causing problems for you.
1. Which has better Graphics?
Well, they both look great, and are comparable... I'd say BF2142 looks a little bit better, but not by a whole lot.2. Which has a larger fan base?
I'm pretty sure that there are still more BF2 players, either way, if 2000+ servers isn't enough... I don't know what to tell you.3.Which is a larger and more complete game?
Whaa?4. What are the downsides to either game?
Long loading times? That's the only thing I don't like about Battlefield lol.and finally...
5.Which game to you prefere?
BF2, but I've only played the demo of 2142, so I don't know.PS: Make SURE you have at least 2gb RAM for Battlefield, or you'll be suffering horribly slow loading times, and quite a bit of stuttering with higher settings. But as long as you have the 2gb RAM and a decent video card, you should be good to go.
