Funny how you have to qualify your statement with the "current gen" moniker.

Fact is, Mass Effect is inferior in every way to LAST GEN RPGs, or even LAST LAST GEN RPGs, except in graphics.

Is this the next generation cows and lemmings want? Short games with simplistic gameplay, no substantial content, and lazy filler levels?

The graphics engines these days cost more money. It's not exactly what I want but you can't have everything and Mass Effect has about as much content and variety as KOTOR if not more. Maybe FFXIII with it's bigger budget due to it's larger fanbase will be able to match last gen RPGs in content while still retaining graphics.

I think ME takes it. Even cows and sheep were 100% sure this game was going to be AAA. I was kind of scared it would get a 10.0. Lair flopped by the biggest margin, but ME is the most surprising flop to me.

Yeah but on the postitive side of things it's not going to get called overrated when people play the game. The 360 has had plenty of overrated games so far but now it's got a game that is actually really good.

It probably will when you play the game. I feel the reviewers explained as best they could why these issues did not ruin the experience but it's no substitute for playing it yourself and seeing why. The gametrailers review probably says it best near the end of their review.
