This is why you need competition in every free market in the world. There should never be just one console, one phone company or anything else. Just so we can dump companies that do stupid things into the trashcan and switch to a competitor that was simply waiting for the other company to screw up big time.
I have both a 360 and a gaming PC. I buy some of their games on console but I absolutely refuse to have Origin forced upon me so I haven't bought a single EA game on pc since they started that crap. No more EA fps games for me.
For me the one title that feels like they are really starting to ruin is Dead Space by building the latest game around microtransactions. I don't mind add-on DLC because its optional. But when the actual design of the game is built around making the player purchase microtransactions to avoid tedious scavenging for parts it really hurts the game.
They could have spent more time making the campaign less tedious with better and more interesting levels and monsters instead of spending time and effort making sure all of the microtransactions were integrated properly.
