He said 300-400 range. Are you set on single cards btw? Especialy since you're getting an SLI mobo.death1505921
At first i was thinking to go 8800 gt sli, but it seems both gtx 260 and hd4870 provide about the same performance for the same money without the double power consumption. I got ocz stealthgamer 600W psu, so power drain is sort of a concern. Sli or crossfire mobo is more for a future option of adding another card, which, at that point, may lead to a psu upgrade as well. Another issue I got with hd4870 is the heat, and with gtx 260 is the noise, although the noise doesn't bother me as much as the heat. Still, for a hundred buck I may just be able to put up with the heat, especially considering future bios/driver upgrades that may bring the temperatures down.
And thanks for that mobo link. Hows DFI, anyway? Never had any experience with that company.
Pretty self-explanatory. Don't really want to get into nvidia-ati wars here. Just looking for feedback. Got all the parts for a new machine, missing only gfx card and mobo. Three days ago my mind was made up for gtx260 with evga 750i mobo, but now that I did some more research, it seems like hd4870 is a better option. Is it? Or should i go for 9800 gtx+? And if it is HD4870, then what mobo should I switch to? Intel x38/48 or p45? Oh, and I'm looking for a card in 300-400 range. Thanks.
Now i keep hearing different stuff. Half the stuff I read says pciex16 is NOT the same as pcie2.0 and the other half says they are. Half the boards with specs listing pciex16 slots do NOT include pcie 2.0 compatibility in their description, the other half do. On evga's site there isn't a single mention of pcie 2.0. It's all pcie x 16. MSI p7n for instance, lists 1 pcie 2.0 slot and 2 pcie x 16. So which is it? Is it the same or not?
Well, since I don't really see myself completely losing the desire to play, I would divorce my wife for breaking my fingers. Then I would wait for hands-free interface.
Anyone know of a decent place to buy this game from? Seems it's not up on digital distributors I frequent, and I don't really want to buy it from amazon or ebay.
I liked the single player a lot. Multiplayer not so much. Not really playing it anymore, but I bought it after the first price drop and got some 60 hours of gameplay out of it, so I don't mind not. I got my money's worth/
