343 is mostly made from ex-bungie employees but that isn't what I'm worried about - its the fact that its a Microsoft owned studio, which means then will have a great influence on the direction of the game.... They'll want the game to appeal to all ages so they can maximise sales, thus dumming down the game with cartoony graphics, moving away from maturity.... basically it will be another halo 3.Cool, as long as some bungie guys are involved in the project to make sure quality is up to snuff.

The complaints usually arise from the lengthy cutscenes. If you played this game on a 15" tv with no surround sound then yes you would be bored ..... but if you played on a big HD screen with surround you would of loved every second of those cutscenes..... yeah its like a movie and ti f****n rocks!I read many disappointed comments of people after playing this game. I mean, it got 10 here, on Ign and has a a great average on Metacritic. so what didn't gamers like about MGS4? :?

Nothing really. He is essentially a non-entity. Silent-HalTHANK YOU!! the title of this thread is a complete joke and is one of the reasons why I could never quite get into half-life. I prefer the characters to talk....especially when they are being talked to and asked questions.... if the character is a mute then he really shouldn't have an external identity defined.....I mean this more in terms of facial features as opposed to a character with a full face helmet.
Pretty much agree with this. Halo 3 pretty much destroyed it all, a game made for the casuals. Bungie gave a big two fingers to its existing fan base which had been built from Halo:CE and Halo 2. ODST was a way of saying 'kay guys we can make darkerz games' ... and to all intents and purposes ODST was OK. Doesn't matter how big the hype for reach is I certainly won't be buying into it too quickly, is this game made for 'dumb' casuals or is it actually a throwback to the original halo games made for REAL gamers.... highly unlikely I think.HYPE FTL. Halo lost its essence since and after Halo 3.

Its actually a really good question - owning both PS3/360 my gut feeling was to go for the 360.... Yes I've seen the comparison screenshots and the PS3 wins in graphics.... Because my PS3 was collecting a lot of dust I decided to buy fallout3 (PS3 version) and I hated it...... (I like RPG/Oblivion etc) .... but it was the controls, it just didn't feel right, so this time around I felt like getting the 360 version just for the controller and I'm glad I did. I'm loving dragon age on the 360!! The graphics are not that bad actually, they certainly are not better than oblivion. Dragon age is soo epic and engrossing that the graphical quality doesn't effect me much at all, I'm too interested in the story and playing. They way I look at it.... if the game has a loooong campaign.... I need to use a controller I am most comfortable with. Its a personal choice.Ps3 has better graphic & has higher score than xbox360 here on gamespot, but why i still found many people play it on the xbox360 over Ps3 ??
-ScorpionKing
Just get it for whatever controller you find more comfortable.

YES.... this it it!
I own both 360 and PS3 and whilst many people may be confused as to why I went for the 360 version I have to say I made the right choice based on the controller. I love the 360 controller, its the weight....the ps3 controller would just annoy me personally for this game.
As for graphics.... to be honest its really not that bad - I don't look at it and think "oh man these graphics are soo awful.... its actually 'OK' because its such a good game you get immeresed into the story rather than counting pixels.
This is all on a hd projector (100") screen.
If your top priority is graphics then by all means as the reviews have already stated PS3 > 360 ..... like I said for me, If I'm going to be playing a game that is 60+ hours, I want a comfortable controler and so 360 is the one I got.
I know exactly how you feel, after I had finished I was like wow, there is no other game that I have played that beats this. A lot of people complained about the cutscenes, but when you have a 100" HD screen, 5.1 HD surround sound its simply amazing! .... if your watching the cutscenes on a 14" tv in your bedroom then yes you will get annoyed.Just beat this game a couple days ago.....WOW. Lemmings, sheep, hermits, this is one game that should be played by all. It definetly deserves the AAAA rating it got. What do you guys think of this game?

Since this game was announced there has been absolutely no hype for this game. I believe it is something Lemmings should be bragging about. Sure It's not Metal Gear Solid 4 but it has potential. TaigaTigerBungie announced that Halo: Arbiter Chronicles is coming to the PS3..... you see.... even though its a halo game and its coming to the PS3 it isn't really a 'Master Chief' game nor will it probably play like one... so its not something you could jump up in joy about... In before the retards: no, Halo: Arbiter Chronicles doesn't exist. Sorry.
Halo CE: still stands up to some of the games today (this gen) Halo 2: mmmm kinda ok, quite 'interesting' in terms of the arbiter - even though no one gave a crap about him at first Halo 3: bwww ahahahaah ahahahahah, ok I'll skip that. In my opinon Halo has such great potential for deeper story but I'm sorry to say BUNGIE sucks when it comes to storytelling, they really do.... HALO:CE got it right the rest are just either too complicated or have been written in a lazy form. MGS 4 was pretty damn good.MGS has a great story, Bioshock had a good one. Gears has an average story but I guess I do care about the characters. Apart from that I can't think of another game or series that has a deep and involving story. Someone care to prove me wrong?.

yeah quite obvious really: Microsoft: industry leaders in software, excellent UI and design process, HORRIBLE at hardware Sony: leaders in eletronics hardware, excellent reliability, POOR software design.... bu bu bu bu ps3 updates every 2 days..... yes because they are still building the OS that should of been finished years ago, its full of patches. So you see its two halves, which evens it all out, ANTI-TROLL: I own both consoles, so yeah go ahead and click the quote button. For me, this is why Live is fundamentally better than PSN. First, before you immediately reply 'lol facebook is lame who cares' this is just an example. If you look at Microsoft's recent incorporation of last.fm, zune, twitter and facebook onto xbox live (even if you hate all those features and will never use them), you can see that they've thought about how to go about it, how to make it look and work on a console etc. And they've done a really good job. For those who like using last.fm for example, the interface on the 360 for using it is unique and really awesome. It's completely different from the normy version on the website, and really feels like it was meant for a console. Same with Twitter and Facebook. Even though i dont use them, i can appreciate that for those who DO use them, they've been designed and executed really well to work on the 360 with a game pad.
So, following the announcement that these features were on the way, it emerges that Sony are also going to add Facebook to PSN. And when it comes, it's slapped together, doesn't offer many of the basic things Facebook is meant to do, and what it CAN do is done so badly that even the PS3 editor on IGN has written a piece about how bad it is. When it posts information about your trophies to Facebook, for example, it takes up the better half of a whole page and gets nothing but comments of 'omg turn that off!' from annoyed users who have your PS3's updates clogging up their entire screen.
Again, this is just an example. Another example would be trophies. On the 360 it's a simple idea; every game can have up to 1000 points spread between however many different achivements the developer likes, to a maximum of 50. Each one is worth a number of points, and has a small picture and description to show whoever is looking at your gamercard what you did to unlock it. Cool idea, if you like that sort of thing.
Sony then comes out with Trophies. They're not in every game, they arrive too late, some games get patched, some dont. It's a mess.
Microsoft announce Netflix; a simple downloadable add-on. Sony announce it, but you need a disc to use it.
CONCLUSION:
Sony really need to take PSN in a cool and unique direction, and stop with the knee-jerk reactions to whatever Microsoft is doing. They'd be much better off shutting out what the competition is doing and focusing on their own ideas. Right now PSN is just one hastily put together update after the other, all of which seem designed to do nothing more than immitate the latest 360 update, only 75% of the time they're simply nowhere near as good because they've been put together so quickly to try and keep up with LIVE.
