[QUOTE="NickJD_"]GT5 is in a class of its own, Forza is just cute next to it. GT is the real kingfoxhound_fox

Funny, Turn 10 showed gameplay footage and gave an October release date. All Polyphony gave us was a pre-rendered teaser trailer.

THANK YOU!!

In the time it has taken to create GT5, 2 itterations of Forza will have been released - Because of things like the Auction House, custom livery editors Forza 2 still has plenty or replay value and now with Forza 3 having in-car details GT5 can no longer have a stronghold in that department.

I'll defo buy GT5 for my PS3 - I just think its hillarious when people bash forza even though Turn 10 has not only set a release date for the third game but released Forza 2 before GT5 also...seems like a cry for 'justification' over the time it has taken to release it to me.

ahh I get it, so because the Flash is running on the client machine it can only read the system time from the client computer instead of being able to read from the server time itself... and because flash behaves like a sandbox this is not something that can be easily solved.

Makes sense now.

Their console is decenly priced, but you gotta pay a lot of expenses. The wireless ip adapter, which should come with the system, cost 100 dollars. 100 just for a piece of plastic with an antenna sticking out. You gotta pay to play xbl. That's just rediculus. Ps3 doesn't have that. Ms needs to give everyone a refund who wasted any money on their xbl gold. Finally, they don't allow user created content, just because they don't make money off of it.

* I own both consoles.

Whilst I agree that Microsoft do charge a lot for the additional accessories....thats because they really are optional. By doing this it has made the xbox much more affordable and way cheaper than the PS3.

I know....I know wireless should of been included as standard like the ps3 but it was another step towards cost saving ....I guess.

As for user-generated-content, my personal opinion is that Microsoft is scared as hell at the thought of viruses, worms etc. They've not exactly been popular for their tight security in Windows, IE etc... Take Forza2 for example.... how awesome would it be if you could transfer a PSD or JPEG onto your car design, its definetley do-able but again you would be putting the Live network at risk of viruses and worms.

Sony clearly don't have this concern, which is a major plus for their platform.

As for greed.. look around... they are all greedy, Sony Microsoft and the Wii.

Sony is coming with a lot of news, even before E3, we haven't heard a lot from Microsoft. Do you think they are losing steam in the System Wars? And do you think they have anything big in store for E3?

drknockboot2

No. The PS3 is just catching up.

umm yo..don't even worry man...there won't be any degradation...maybe a little but nothing huge...DONT buy the MOST expensive cable but don't buy the cheapest...you don't need the best cause it's just a tube TV...you'll be fine..just don't connect multiple cables together just get a long one..Japkila

Agreed, defo dont buy cheapest as I have already stated, at the same time people shouldn't be fooled into paying somehing like £40 for a 10M run... its about making sure you pay a good reasonable price... you will know this when you see how thick the cable is.... and as Japkila said dont use couplers!! eg buying 2x 5M runs to make a total of 10M and then some cheap connector, that will give you ghosting as well.... you want a pure run.

I want to run a second set of cables (composite) from my 360 to my room so that i can play at night (hell yeahs!) I have a 51cm tube in my room and I'm definetely not gonna be fussy about the quality. But i am curious about just how much the signal will degrade.

Thanks heaps.

DopeyDavoid

Pretty substantially, its all about the quality of the material used, but yeah its gonna look horrible, you will see ghosting and it will defo annoy you - I know from experience.

Buy a good cable that is thick and shielded pretty well and you can't go wrong, dont go cheap, its not worth it.

ps. you do care about quality otherwise you wouldn't of asked :P!!

... also your using the worst/poorest video connection on the 360, its not even S-VIDEO!!, so make sure you invest in a good cable!

wait just a minute, am i to understand that x box 360 games are only REGULAR DVDs???????????is this actually true?

thats just ridiculous the x box 360 isnt actually true HD, the games are just regular DVDs being upscaled

upscaling nowhere near compares to the quality of an actual hd dvd or blu ray disc

thank god for the ps3 making all their games Blu ray discs, a true HD format

man 360 you suck, regular DVDs and still charging 60 bucks for a new game? pathetic!

oblique465

Are you kidding? HD-DVD and Bluray are just discs with bigger storage, THATS IT!!! - you can have HD content on normal DVDS - but something like a 2hr movie in HD wont fit on it! hence the need for discs with bigger stoarge..... seriously do some research, you just OWNED yourself!

I definately see why alot of people love this game.... but to me it's rather boring. AI is good, graphics are good, sound is good, gameplay is solid.... but it's just NOT fun! The enemies are uninspiring, the level design isn't that great. I can't really pin point what bothers me most about it.... but I know one thing, and thats when I start to play it. I'm doing so because I want to finish the game so I feel like at least in some way I didn't waste my money.

It's just a chore to play for me. Now b4 you freak out and flame me to kingdom come! Remember this is just how I feel about the game. I know its a good game (great for some) but I guess it's style just isn't for me. Give me Halo or Bioshock any day of the week.

In short I feel like HL2 is over-rated.

Veterngamer

dude, I 100% feel the same way, I appreciate all the graphics, AI physics, but there is just something a bit boring and I hate that the character is a mute -

Right so i know halo 3 is a game with ALOT of hype....but i just dont get it. Given the first game was great with a gr8 storyline etc, but to me the MP is average at best:? TO me its an arcade shooter but i dont understand why have a million people on my FL on XBL msgn me saying..."are you getting halo 3" or "haloooooooooo wooooohoooooo", ??

I loved the first halo it was revolutionary in terms of what you could do in the MP and the single player was a blast also, but now to me its like....give it up already, the game has been surpassed already with other titles , Not just on the 360 but PC games had alrady had half life and a whole heap of other great games that halo couldnt even touch with a barge pole.

Im trying not to bash this game because i know its loved by many, but seriously.....what the hell is it with halo 3 that is so appealing....aside from "finishing the fight" :?

Is it the air combat/weirdish weapons...because imho its sure as hell not the gameplay in MP...its run and gun and quite frankly i can only see it appealing to a younger audience....

I was thinking about getting it, but ...tbh i dont know why i want it!!.....:? Am i being hyped into getting this? I played the beta and played it once becausethe whole "noneed for tactics...just shoot" thing annoyed me,and shoved gears back in.

anyone??

anandram

Did you get into the story at all? - Halo is special for many gamers because its what made a lot of them who were casuals become more serious about gaming, such as myself.

Im starting to wonder if you were interested in the story or not.... sure you played the first one, but did you play halo 2? - anyone who played Halo 2 campaign no matter how rubbish the game was will still buy this to see how it ends, you seem to be confused about buying halo 3, so Im wondering if you played H2 at all.

I never liked FPS based games, they were not my sort of thing .... after trying out the halo games and enjoying them soo much I tried other FPS games such as the highly praised "half-life" - ... and you know what?? I didnt enjoy it one bit lol - dont get me wrong its got great physics/gfx etc ... but it just did not capture me the way halo does with its atmosphere/cinematics/and musical score.

Whether you like the halo hype or not look at it this way, its fantastic what MS is doing ... making gaming more mainstream.. so many non gamers are all talking about "whats this halo" .... surely its a good thing for the industry!
