Yup, it seems like everytime my PS2 list is nealry completed I discover something else to add.

SOTN isn't open world. Do you mean free-branching paths? Einhander is not sprite based if I am not mistaken. WWF isn;t sprite based either. But everything else is good.[QUOTE="Last-Resort"][QUOTE="Emerald_Warrior"]

Okay, Einhander isn't "sprites", but it's played on a 2D field, so close enough. But WWF Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game is definetly sprite-based. It was also released for the 16-bit consoles.
I was actually only referring to the three games I listed which were originally posted by Last-Resort:
Loaded (PS1)
Reloaded (PS1)
GTA 1 (PS1)
believe me I know Einhander isn't sprite based, but it is one of my favorite PS1 games, I still play pretty regularly. Thanks for your input, I'll have to give some of those games a look.
There's more, but it really is way too easy to find 2D games 5th genand I am actually wondering why you are asking this question unless your lazy, but hey, no harm.Last-Resort
I was actually asking for recommendations is all. I know there are plenty of 5th gen 2d games, I just wanted to know which ones people thought were worth playing.
Also
Loaded (PS1)
Reloaded (PS1)
GTA 1 (PS1)
are really top down 3d games with some spirits mixed in, not really what I'm looking for.
I'd say those numbers are even worse than they seem. Considering the NG & NGB were sold on a console that sold 24 million total units and NG2 came out only 4 years ago when around 25 million 360 where around. It seems pretty crappy that global sales are something like 150K for a game released to market of close to 130 million systems.
I'm gong to mention an obvious here Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Also one of my other favorites:
In the Hunt (PS1/SAT) (This is basically the predecessor of the Metal Slug series, a cool side perspective submarine shmup)
Just looking for some good 2D sprite based games from the 5th gen (PS1, SAT, N64) to enjoy.
Yea that is pretty damn easy, I wouldn't worry about it just keep track of how everything is hooked up. The hardest part of building a PC is installing the CPU, which you don't have to do and even that is cake.
I always seem to go back to Tekken Tag (PS2), it's Tekken 3 on steroids.
Though I go back and play all the Tekkens occasionally, only one I'm really not to fond of is T6 just didn't get me addicted like its predecessors did.
I always figured Peach was running away from an abusive Mario. Just look at Mario's abusive tendencies, all these friendly smiling turtles and their friends are just walking around and Mario runs up and jumps on them. Then when King Koopa tries to protect the princess Mario throws his big old butt into lava, real nice guy.
So you're mad at Microsoft because your Xbox has broken before? Every piece of high end electronics breaks and some time or another, that's just technology.

Yea but they don't tend to break in the first 6 months. Not to mention it is pretty clear the original 360's had a flawed design. So, if you buy a brand new car and after putting 3,000 miles on it the engine goes, you'll say "well all cars die eventually, that is perfectly normal"?
