[QUOTE="tormentos"] Probably because some people just don't want to admit it,is like when they say the ps3 has only 256 mb of ram, when it has 512,fact is cell fill all the holes the rsx has and them some.XboximusPrime
wow just wow, I cant believe that some of you actually think the cell is better than ANY of the modern cpu's out now. The cell was designed to be a calculator, congratulations, but it suks at running programs. Also most graphics cards of today can do over 1 TFLOP, the AMD 5870 itself can do 3 TFLOP by itself and now it is considered dated. I bet the gtx 580 can do 5-6 TFLOPS. You think intel or AMD even care about floating point for their cpu's? Heck no lol.
I dont think he said its better then modern XPUs. Neither the 360 CPU or Cell is a Modern CPU.
This was never about PC's.
This is about PS3's total FLOPS and total power being greater than the total FLOPS and power of the XBOX 360.
The point is, when you are talking about PS3's graphics, FLOPS and total power, you cannot dis-include the CELL PROCESSOR. You have to include THE CELL and the GPU. Why? Because that is the way it was made to be run, as the cell processor does more FLOPS than any other CPU on the market, even to this day.
That's why talking only about its GPU is a moot point, which is what I notice alot of people seem to want to do, as if the PS3 is a standard PC/X86 system.
