I am happy with the size of the NGP. You just know that there will be a NGP Slimline to follow in a few years. Since Sony has had a slim for all of its Consoles PS1/PS2/PS3 and the PSP.

So in the next generation of handhelds I will be buying 2 NGP's. The orginal this fall and the Eventually NGP Slimline.

Just don't go overboard with the NGP redesigns like the PSP. Since 2005 There have been 4 versions of the PSP 1.

NGP is good with the size aspect.

Personally, I don't think they'll come out with a thinner version. This thing is already thinner than the 3000. Any thinner and it might feel like it'll snap.

If they do come out with a new iteration, it'll probably be an update on it's hardware.

Would the batter have anything to do with the umds not reading? The laser, the dis spining thing and everything else that were possible in the tests both worked fine. My friend gave me the psps since she hadnt used them in a while. The first one gave the umd and update problem so i told her about it and hse gave me her second one which was newer and the same thing happen so im really starting to doubt that both drives could be damaged when all the signs indicate that it works perfectly for both and that its just unlikely for 2 psps to go like that as when she last used them they worked fine.

She cant find her battery thats a problem. I would have to buy one.

When you put the PSP game into your PSP, two things should pop up. One the game, and two an update icon that will update your system to the minimum requirement to play the game. Click on that, follow the instructions, and it should update.

Also, having a fully charged battery is necessary (I think) to update, so get a battery that works, charge it, and then update. This has nothing to do with reading the UMDs, but it is a requirement when updating firmware.

Other than that, I'd have to say it's a problem with both PSPs. I guess your friend doesn't take care of them well?

[QUOTE="LetsPlayer"][QUOTE="BigDaddySith"]PSP2 is coming out this year, just wait. You can play PSP1 games on it as well.spookykid143

That aren't UMD's...

UMD's were horrbile so it's not a bad thing.

Yeah, but some good games were only available on UMD. Also, if you prefer a hardcopy, UMDs are the only option.

Amazon.ca has it for $40. You can try to see if amazon.ca ships to the US (I know amazon.com ships to Canada, for a price, of course).

If true it's a day 1 for me. However, I'm not getting excited until there's an official announcement.

Short answer: Yes

Long Answer: It's gonna be a while before the PSP2 comes out, and the 3DS won't have much at the beginning, so unless you're willing to wait, investing in a PSP is a good choice. Furthermore, there are a lot of PSP games that only had a UMD release, and as such the only way to experience them is with a PSP. Also, if you're materialistic like me, you'll want to get a PSP so you can buy your PSP games in hardcopy as opposed to digital, as only digital copies of PSP games will work on PSP2. And one last thing; getting a PSP would be a good idea for your own safety, as the shock of seeing how awesome a PSP2 in your hands is might be too much, so having a PSP would better ease you into a PSP2.

[QUOTE="Ventara"]Ys: The Oath in Felghana clocked in at 11 hours on easy for me. It's a pretty good action RPG.cprmauldin

That is a sad length for an RPG. Is there a lot of extra content?

I probably should have mentioned that the RPG elements are very light, to the point where it might not even be considered an RPG. It's really just an action game. Also, I played this on easy. There's a good chance that you can pull in over 20 hours on harder difficulties.

As for replayability, there is 6 difficulties, and there is a mode where you can just face the bosses (which is pretty fun since the boss battles are awesome). You can also go for a completion run where you collect all items and do all missions.

Seriously, this game is really fun, and one of the best action RPGs out there. Great bosses, great music, and fluid non-stop gameplay really make this awesome. Don't let the short storyline steer you away.

If you suspect the battery, try playing with the charger connected and the battery out. If it's fine, then it's probably the battery and should be replaced. If not, it's the system. I'm afraid I can't be of any more help than that, but perhaps someone here has had similar problems and can help you.

Hopefully they make it so you can turn the features on and off.LetsPlayer

They`ll probably go with this for some of the more hardcore games. As we`ve seen it can be fun, but for hardcore games where you`re really clenching the system, it`ll probably be a bit of a nuisance.
