By "industry-changing" gameplay, I believe the TC meant that never before have we seen a physics engine do what SMG does. Yeah, go ahead bring up Crysis and other games with amazing physics, but are you running around small planets in those games? Each with their own gravitational pull? I Don't think so.
The developing in that physics engine for SMG must have taken so much time.
I brought my mom in to see the Good Egg Galaxy. I walked over to the edge and she was like "Yikes don't fall off." And I just totally did a leaping jump over the edge, being hauled around safely to the other side. It feels so good to do that.wiretoss
Those physics have already been implemented in exactly the same way in other games, although maybe not for the entire duration of the game. A lot of sheep seem to be blinded by the Mario franchise and are unwilling to admit that, yes, the game has a lot of variety and is a lot of fun but is not "revolutionary" in the slightest. It's just another Mario platformer.
