Take a look at IGN's top 10 for Nintendo's E3 this year. They couldn't even find 10 good games for the DS and Wii combined so they put "Nintendo's Still Secret Games" as the tenth one. How pathetic.

The only decent non-rehash games on the list are Sonic RPG, Castlevania, and Madworld. 2 of those are DS, 1 is Wii. Sheep where are your games?

TAKE_IT_BACK

Nintendo keeps games secret until E3, thats a good thing because they don't spend a press conference telling us about things we already know *coughmicrosoftcough*

if you go to Wintry flutist's Wii E3 thread or Haziqonfires wii gaming thread you will find a list of promising third party games.

Good day.

Oh you mean promising third party games that aren't announced and sheep are dreaming about? Right...those games. This is IGN's top 10 list I think that if anybody knew about any 'secret' games it would be IGN and not a forum poster on GameSpot.

WOW NO way what an awesome item name I'm gonna go pre order the game RIGHT now. Oh wait, that's exactly like every other hack and slash RPG ever made and Too Human is going to flop stop hyping it.

Lots of denial from Too Human fanboys. Get over it I've always said this game would flop hardcore and it's looking more grim everyday. Stop trying to defend your game and accept that it will be mediocre at best and just another mindless boring hack and slash to throw on the pile. I'm betting 7.0 tops, 6.0 if the story sucks as much as they say.

It's no wonder all Sheep get are rehashes. Look at how the drool over the stupidest ports of the oldest games ever. Granted, Chrono Trigger was an amazing game, 12 YEARS AGO WHEN IT CAME OUT. Sheep really have the lowest standards. Very hypocritical too when you bash the PSP for getting PS2-like games which are complete remakes while foaming at the mouth over an almost direct port.

I think Silent Hill needs some serious innovation, especially in the combat system. Playing a game like Silent Hill with an amazing combat system would be so much more immersive. An RE4 type makeover would be nice...

Combat in Too Human is multi-faceted, and more about developing a rhythm and strategy than mashing buttons. Attacks are simply mapped to the right analog stick, which seems simple at first but is actually rather deep. Primarily, you'll strike at ground-based targets by sliding -- you hold the stick in the direction of an enemy in range, and Baldur will slide along the ground, delivering a blow when contact is made. The trick to handling large groups is to queue up your next slide during the current one, which when done successfully leads to a ****of combat that is one part stylish movie fight scene, and one part pinball. The idea is to move around the battlefield fast enough that the enemies aren't presented with a target slow enough to hit.

Gamespy

This part of the PREVIEW (previews are generally positive overall) is hardly positive at all. It just explains the gameplay and says that combat is "rather deep". How you take that as very good I have no idea.

Mixing and matching weapons and armor is important, and more than just a styIe choice, as each weapon type and piece of armor will have unique attributes that can be set up to provide tangible benefits in combat. The amount of loot and the number of different attributes that can be modified in Too Human is just staggering, and if you're the type of player who enjoys collecting rare weapons and armor, it's not hard to envision there being near-infinite replay value coming from the itemization alone.

Gamespy

Please quote the entire sentence. "if you're the type of player who enjoys collecting rare weapons and armor" should be bolded as well. This can be said about ANY hack and slash RPG and is hardly a "very good" preview.

Too Human is at once trying to appeal to die-hard RPG enthusiasts, as well as those who like fast-paced action games. In both of these areas, the game appears to be shaping along quite nicely.

Gamespy

Once again, hardly even positive. It just says it's shaping along "quite nicely". No part of this preview really says the game is amazing.

I agree with the preview seeming a bit over critical. He's pointing things out that are seen in EVERY game. COD4 has infinite respawns, Gears of War has the same cover system technique, and recently Battlefield: Bad Company had the whole "when you need a C4/Rocket Launcher/Bomb Laser, here's a container full of them". All of these games scored very well (even B:BC got an 8.5) and it doesn't really matter anyway because SP for an FPS is only second to MP. If they can pull off a full well thought out SP campaign (unlike COD4's excuse for a campaign) and an awesome MP then they're golden.

Now, I obviously can't speak for you, but so far I'm convinced.

The controls are fairly unique and take a bit of getting used to but once you are comfortable with them they are very simple. Based on the somewhat addictive nature of the game, the controls make complete sense because you could easily play this game for hours on end without getting a sore shoulder or any other physical discomfort (a feature few addictive RPGs can claim - oh but the sore shoulder World of Warcraft caused me so many years ago).

Basically the control scheme is: point the right analogue stick towards something and you'll beat the crap out of it; use the triggers to shoot stuff from afar.

While at first glance the gameplay seems very basic (and in some ways it is) there is some depth to it.

I didn't get to play for very long and at the event I couldn't hear any of the sound so I cannot speak much for the story.

It is disappointing that they had to cut it down from four players to two, but for me the biggest downer is that it's over Xbox Live only, no shared screen co-op. Based on the way the camera works in the game I do not understand how they couldn't have made this work.

I have a lot of faith in this game's developer, Silicon Knights. They are known for very clever and deep storylines in their games (something that's important to me, especially in an RPG). There is also usually a lot more depth to their games that you can only appreciate once playing through the final product, as they like to keep a few things as a surprise

Oh comeon, this looks like a preview that tries to put a positive spin on a mediocre game. Read the parts I selectively chose from the preview. A lot of it seems like damage control.
