We knew it was gonna be November-something. Not a big deal.

Get out of Europe? Lol, you do realize that competition is a good thing, right? If Xbox One fails, I mean fails utterly, it's gonna be a bad thing for all gamers. Yes, even for cows.

What does it all mean? what will it give an advantage to compared to the ps4?

id prefer having hermits comment on this thread rather than butthurt cows and blind lems.

That fact of the matter is this: the PS4 really isn't that much more powerful than the XB1. Best case, it will have a few extra frames per second. So, this power boost is just PR. Once you read past the fanboy bullsh*t and speculation, most analyists agree that they are about the same in power.

NO just no that is marketing bs the gpu in the ps4 is clearly stronger. This is real world and can be measured in games and bench marks. Even more important Sony has the devs to actually make use of that power as seen on the ps3. So to muddy the water the marketing team has been talking about cloud gaming giving the x1 a boost. They even went so far as to talk about 4k gaming on the x1.

Do not fall for the bs brah at launch both consoles will be basically even on 3rd party games but over time the ps4 will have a real advantage. On 1st party games I fully expect the ps4 to own the x1 graphically. Oh the ps4 also has cloud gaming from a proven company that they brought by the way.

At this point the only advantage the x1 has is a 1080p web cam for 100 bucks over the ps4 (if your into that sort of thing).

They've got a little more than that going for them.

For one thing they've got 300,000 dedicated servers with plans to add more. Am interested to see how Sony will respond to that, if they even can given how broke they are.

Oh, and Xbox One has a controller that isn't constructed of feces, unlike PS4 (And every other Playstation preceding it).

No matter what.......PS4 is more powerful, better and cheaper.:cool:AtariKidX

Meh, it's got better silicon. But its controller is a turd.

NO it will not be 100% for games, but find me 1 source even hinting at 5% GPU reservation for the PS4,the xbox one use to require online every 24 hours and blocked used games did sony did the same.?

The xbox one uses a snap feature that does requires GPU reservation, because it runs games alone side the snap on the PS4 there is no such thing.

You know it and yousay it your self MS make mistakes with the hardware so don't pin those on sony just because MS has them,in fact not even the 2 core for OS has been confirmed and was based on a old demo done and a unfinish dev kit.

xboxiphoneps3

The point is you shouldn't go around using the 10% GPU reservation of Xbox One as a bullet point when you know damned well there will be some kind of reservation with the PS4's GPU. We don't know how much it will be, but there WILL be one. Just leave it out of the discussion until we know what it is for both consoles.

ok so when they annouce/reveal/leaks some information on GPU reservation for PS4 then we will kindly add it to the equation.. for now, we know Xbox One reserves 10% and that is what we will use now

Lol, you're missing the point. He keeps subtracting 10% from Xbox One and in the same breath listing PS4's full GPU power. It's disingenuous because he knows as well as I do that it won't be 1.84 tflops dedicated to games. If ya wanna subtract 10% from Xbox One's GPU then fine, MS already announced it. But don't in the same breath list 1.84 tflops for games for PS4 cuz if you have any understanding whatsoever about these things, and he does, you know it won't actually be that.

Here we go again with tormento's delusion that 100% of PS4's GPU will go entirely to games.

Sony hasn't announced any kind of reservation yet but there is a thing called common sense.

[QUOTE="sts106mat"] exactly "numbers you've heard" what are the official clock speeds, released by Sony?sts106mat

Lol, if ya won't take my word for it there are these things called search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc.

It's a mystery to me why you care so much though. It's pretty much irrelevant.

I dont care, just wondering why there are people bashing XB1 without official confirmation of what the PS4's speeds are

Because PS4 has 18 CUs and 32 ROPs vs Xbox One's 12 CUs and 16 ROPs. No amount of overclocking by MS is gonna erase that gap. To get it on par with PS4 it needs a better GPU, not just overclocking the GPU it already has.

Pretty much nothing.

Think of it like driving on the highway. Instead of going 70mph, you go 75mph. You might get to the destination a hair faster, but it's nothing to celebrate.

YearoftheSnake5

I think a better way to put that, a way that makes it more relevant to what we're talking about here, would be to say:

"Think of it like driving on the highway. Instead of going 70mph, you go 75mph. You might be going a little faster, but you're still driving the same car."

What I mean by that is: a lot of silicon > overclocking the hell out of a little bit of silicon. The latter might artificially get you similar numbers but you're gonna get better real-world performace with the former.

[QUOTE="Wickerman777"]

[QUOTE="sts106mat"] are those official figures released by Sony or just speculation?sts106mat

Those are the numbers I've heard up to this point. I think they're unlikely to change because PS4 has such a small case. Upclocking a console that tiny wouldn't be easy at this stage.

But anyway, it really doesn't matter. Tiny upclocks are not a big deal at all. MS could clock it's GPU to 1,000 mhz and its CPU to 2 ghz and PS4 would still have an edge over it because it has so many more CUs and ROPs on its GPU than Xbox One does.

exactly "numbers you've heard" what are the official clock speeds, released by Sony?
