On my Samsung it has an option on the remote to change the ration aspect on the fly. That's what i do, I just change it back to 4:3 when playing on an older console (including all the way back to my Atari 2600).aspro73

How do some of the truely "old" consoles look on an HDTV? I mean Obviously they will look better if you set the tv to 4:3, but do they suffer the same mal-effects that 3d non-hd consoles suffer from on an HDTV?

Alot of us with that many games are adults who have been collecting since we are kids or perhaps started collecting later in life, but love games and have the means to buy them. I haven't spent serious time with all my games, but most of them I have or have bought with the intention of spending a good chunk of time with. Also, it isn't like I, or other collectors, buy these games all at $40 -$60. In fact, Id say most of my purchases are made at the $20 or under range. I still spenda good chunk of change on them, but I look at other hobbies people I know spend money on, such as golf, and what I spend on games pales in comparison to that. Ultimately, I like the idea that I always have a number of games on hand that I'd love to play, plus usually the amount of money Id get from selling a game doesn't offset the value of owning it for the chance I may pick it up again down the line.

Edit: In the vein of JollyRoger's post, here is a picture of my collection. If you are ever interested in seeing some people who's collections put mine to shame, take a look at the Candid Collector's Union.

I have that problem especiallywith the PS1 and the N64. But then again, I almost swore off games during those years because even at that time I had major problems with what they could do with 3d, not to mention many of the games made me sick.

At first after getting my 360, I had problems going back to most of the PS2 gen games, mainly because the 360 looked so good on the big plasma, and the ps2 did not, even with component cables and there was a big difference playing games on the 50inch screen vs. the 27 inch screen. Eventually, I got over that and have just finished playing DQVIII on the SDTV and am almost done with FFX. I also realized which games look good for the PS2 on the HDTV (cartoony, cellshaded, just not realistic looking games).

Here's a dumb question. How do you get your videos from your DVD to your PC in the first place.

[QUOTE="Working_Stiff"]

I went to EB to pick up the sega genesis collection for the PSP and walked out with:

Scurge: Hive (DS) - $7.20

Metal Gear Acid (PSP) - $9.00

Metal Gear Acid 2 (PSP) -$8.10

Xyanide (Xbox) - $9.00

Sega Genesis Collection (PSP) - $22.50.

gmsnpr

First and fourth were really nice buys.

I had planned to pick up Scurge soon because I saw it this weekend at an EB for $15 because I feel as though it might be hard to track down later and it looked pretty good, but then when I saw it at a different EB for $8 (used, with the edge card = $7.20), in excellent condition, I had to pick it up. To be honest, that was the one I was most excited about getting, especially for the price.
