@Antarte: Actually it was Jay Wilson. If you look into his history every game he's ever lead with I think one exception (not counting Diablo 3) has been a critical and financial failure that ended a series or franchise. Diablo 3 was ruined because it was built around concepts like a real-money auction house and a pay2win scheme through there. Let us not forget "We made Inferno so hard our testers couldn't it beat it and then we doubled it." That's not game design that's absolute foolishness with no concept for balance, longevity or playability.
In fact, quite the opposite to your supposition, the console versions saved Diablo 3 by proving that the loot system on PC was utterly broken and it lead tot he game's current state which, while far from the heady quality of Diablo 2, is far better a product than was initially released. Besides, Diablo 2 had only about 8 primary control inputs including the 4 potion slots. I think consoles can handle that.
Diablo 3 is around and being worked on actively today because they recognized a problem and fixed it by replacing Wilson, and at the time he was in charge, consoles weren't really in the cards, they weren't even announced until 6 months before the PC release.
@antonadamse: It's an Eddie Makuch article. He writes all the sites "one weird trick" tier clickbait and general nonsense. If he wasn't allowed to write anymore the site's quality would jump up exponentially.
@doctor_mg: Nintendyear old it is. Take your broken toy and run on home. 50 cents has been depositied into your Nintendo Defense Force Account. thank you for your patronage.
@doctor_mg: No, sorry, "Someone has to do it" and "I'm like their defense attorney" took away your entire platform. There is no longer a debate to be had, from this point further the only discussion to be had is my mocking you and you taking it.
Nintendrone isn't a personal attack, it's just what you are. I could also use Nintenyearold if you prefer.
@doctor_mg: Not really considering the context you gave, and also this whole "No matter how slight or extreme the issues are. Just go onto any website such as N4G. Bias is a huge part of our gaming community, and that is why I'm defending Nintendo. Somebody has to." thing.
That utterly deflates any statement you could possibly make. That puts you in the same drawer as paid shill because you've thrown every the slightest hint of objectivity out the window in exchange for full on fanboyism. Good day, confirmed Nintendrone.
@doctor_mg: So. What your'e saying is that in the past four years the PS4 only managed to generate as many videos of hardware failures as the Switch has in one week.
@master_49: Mostly aimed at the random person who will come in and tell me my experience dealing with them at a business level wasn't representative of their nostalgic attachment to Zelda or something.
