Guac, anyone?

I'm having a wicked craving for guacamole and fresh tortilla chips. Maybe I'll convince my love to take me out for Mexican food tonight...because I'm definitely not making fresh tortilla chips.

So, I'm a little obsessed with food. I appreciate the deliciousness that a simple apple or slice of tangy cheese possess, and I'm not shy to try new things (well, at least not after my guinea pig tries it out two times!!) Sometimes I get the most absurd cravings, I feel like a mad scientist and I have to try out the new recipes. The need usually grips me until I either reason myself out of trying balsamic vinegar with cheesecake (hmm, that actually sounds interesting) or until I get the ingredients and try out my ideas.

That said, I usually like to eat food that's simple and natural. Like a warmed tortilla, with a little natural sharp cheddar down the middle. I top it with sliced vine-ripe tomatoes with just the right amount of salt and freshly ground black pepper, fresh crisp lettuce, thinly sliced red onions, and crisp and sweet bell pepper wedges. Wrap it up and mmm... If I add a fresh, ripe peach, it's like summertime on my plate, and it makes me so happy! Lol.

Anyway, does anybody else get obsessed over silly food things?

Warning: rabid fangirl

Erm...

As may be assumed from my last blog entry and comments made thereafter...plus the fact that I have read a whole slew of romantic IchiHime fanfics...I am now a stark, raving, rabid, hardcore fangirl of IchiHime, Ichigo Kurosaki and Orihime Inoue from Bleach. LOL! I didn't think it would come to this, people. I'm currently feeling a little like this:

Inoue Heheh

*sheepish*

Who would have thought? When I started watching Bleach, I hated Orihime. She's the epitome of a teenage boy's fantasy: ditzy, large-breasted, and beautiful...I had a really hard time not skipping through all of the parts that had Orihime in them. When she got her powers I was annoyed. IchiRuki was my mantra! Woo!! Who wouldn't love the star couple to be the stoic Ichigo and a spunky little woman that can hit his head in such a way to make him understand things?! I was all about Rukia getting Ichigo in the end!

It wasn't until the Hueco Mundo arc and Orihime's longing for Ichigo that I started having pity on the poor girl...so sad, she thinks the love of her life is in love with Rukia and Orihime doesn't have the guts to tell him about her feelings. Out of my compassion for her, I grew to miss her peppy attitude and ached with sympathy that Ichigo seemed to be typically aloof and unaware of her feelings. Then, I caught up to the anime, so I started to read the manga...when I went back and read the manga from the beginning of the series, my eyes opened further--Orihime has been longing for Ichigo for ages. My compassion and sympathy for her grew, and I began searching for signs of Ichigo's regard towards either Rukia or Orihime. My shipping of Orihime and Ichigo stems from that empathy for Orihime and thinking that Orihime's soft, kindhearted ways will be a great solace to Ichigo...who feels an ever-present need to be strong, to do what is necessary, and to pay any price to accomplish his goals to protect. He would be able to relax for an hour a week, at least! We have all seen how he softens when he is around Orihime. I'd have to say Orihime would be very beneficial for Ichigo's blood pressure as well...;)

I understand the IchiRuki shippers standpoint--truly, I do. I love Rukia! The fierce attitude, feminine softness just hiding under her boyish figure and haughty confidence. She's great, I think she's done Ichigo a world of good and will continue to be a good friend to Ichigo. But right now, in my rabid frenzy...I want to gather them together and shoot them all with neon Nerf foam missiles until they agree that Orihime's the better choice...but as I'm outnumbered and not impassioned enough to forget my dislike for conflict, I shall leave it at posting my IchiHime love here on the blog for all to see! Lol.

Do you ship anybody? Who do you ship, and why?

Fan Fiction

That junk is addicting. I've been reading it almost all day (whoops) because I the DHL delivery man left a package on my doorstep from Fanfire, and the word Fanfire reminded me that I wanted to look up fanfiction because my friend KujakuValentine (look, you're famous!) let me read a bit from one of hers...8 hours later...

My eyes hurt.

There are a lot of talented people that write for free, and a lot of not-as-talented people doing the same. Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between the talented and the not-as-talented. Hooray democracy!

I've been thinking about writing an Orihime from Bleach and L from Death Note fanfic, lol...somehow I think they would be a tremendously great couple...I call them L'Hime. :)

Do you have a favorite fanfic, or have you written any?

Brian Fellows

Ah, memories...one summer I was working full time, and on one of my rare weekdays off my boyfriend, his friends, and sister and I went swimming in a neighbors' pool then went back to my boyfriend's house and watched a bunch of "Brian Fellow's Safari Planet"s from SNL. For me, these absurd skits are little reminders of the good times we had, that one day swimming and also of when we pulled an all-nighter just to say we had, when we tried to make a funny cooking video we still think is hilarious, and all the crazy little weekend trips we took.

Anyway, "Brian Fellows" is so absurd...in case you haven't seen it, the know-nothing host is Tracy Morgan on a talk show that features animals. He has strange visions of the animals talking to him or doing things to him that are nonsensical and hilarious! I love the quirkiness of it. Here's a link to one of the videos:

Brian Fellows vs. Snake and Sheep
Enjoy!

Paranoia

I keep starting blog posts and then quitting because there are actually people that look at my profile and read these things. It makes me very nervous. But then again...you can read whatever you want. I decided I don't care if you like it or read it, it's enough to know that I can say what I want and so can you.

Anyway, putting that aside, I get to go to lunch with a friend I haven't seen in 5 years! Woohoo! Her toddlers will probably throw spaghetti on me, but what the heck. I'm excited anyway.

I'm really apprehensive about the Bleach filler, I know that I said I liked the first episode...but I'm just waiting for it to turn out to be idiotic. Yes, I do have a bad attitude about it. It's just that I agree with onenottaken's comment on the Bleach forum that the power levels are nonsensical--one moment there's Rukia defeating a Menos Grande and the next Ichigo can't even touch some bad guy. The Bount arc really bothered me with its power inconsistencies, and I'm expecting that from this filler arc simply because during the Hueco Mundo fillers the power inconsistencies were in full force.

I'm nearing the end of Death Note...I started out being awed by Light's audacity and now I'm being sickened by his follies. It's such an intriguing story. I can't imagine anybody being as brazen and tricky as Light is if they had that power, but then I think about genocide and I wonder...what if the leaders that allowed genocide had a death notebook? They would use it in a much worse fashion than Light. I don't agree with killing off criminals, perhaps ever, but the storyline has me very much caught up in trying to figure out where all of the demons are--not just Light. Here's a cute little chibi of Death Note's L and Light:

chibi death note

I've got to go get ready for my luncheon...cross your fingers for me that the spaghetti will land on my friend and not me...:)

5...4...3...2...do it now!

Tonight's The Office was...holy crap, it was great!! I loved every minute! Fluffy fingers, "Did I stutter?", Dwight's new-found attitude, "Could you just say, 'These books are due back Thursday?'", oh man!, and Jim's reprimand was so...perfect. I love how Tobe's jealousy is getting the better of him in so many different ways. As long as Jim's dating Pam, bad things are going to happen to him as long as he works for Dunder Mifflin. I love that the writers aren't making things completely hunky-dory for those two, it would make the show so boring! And Pam's glasses? Classic. This was a win of an episode. Best of season 4.

Fruits Basket

I just finished watching the anime...and...I have mixed feelings about it. On the one hand, I liked that it was ended somewhat tidily, whereas if the story had been left where it would have been following the manga it would be completely up in the air. On the other hand, the issues weren't resolved that were in the manga. Frustration. Anyway, I should have read the manga after watching the anime, and not the way I did it because now I'm left disappointed. Ah well.

Truffle butt

Truffle

Check out my doggie! Isn't she cute? She could totally take out Kon. Truffle likes peanut butter, walks on the beach (haven't tried it yet but who doesn't love walks on the beach?), and cheddar cheese, so all of you adoring fans can totally send her some love: PO Box 21, Summer City, VX 00521.

I'm sick of those pictures

So I'm just writing a new blog post to get rid of them. Why don't I erase them? Um...good question.

I watched Avatar 314 and 315 last night (finally). I never expected half of what happened! There are a lot of things I did expect, but they're always throwing in little twists and bits of humor. Definitely that is part of why I love that show, even though it's market audience is 12-15 (I'm guessing) the plot line has enough surprises and intelligence to keep me watching. Some of the episodes are pretty juvenile, but...you can't expect a kids show to not have juvenile episodes.

On another note, Forbidden Kingdom kinda sucks. The fighting was kinda cool (it reminded me a little of Bleach, and other Asian stories, where you can actually see the intentions and willpower of the fighter coming out in fighting abilities and outcomes) but the plot line...the PLOT, people! was predictable and not imaginative.
