@devilscry @Gargus It's not the the same as Napster.

Napster was a P2P sharing service that allowed everyone to get digital copies of music. That would be the equivalent of allowing potentially 1000's or Millions of gamers to play games on their PC using a single CD-Key.

Napster was an illegal sharing service (ie. piracy). BIG DIFFERENCE.

The used game industry should not be any different than any other used item industry. All this is, is greed by the publishing companies demanding a cut of the used game market.

Its going to be very difficult for users to get good value in their games if they want to trade in their games though.

If the past two weeks have shown, digital sales can easily drop a games listed price by 80%.

If Steam does agree to allow trade-ins...don't expect you get any real return on those used games. It's just not going to happen.

You might as well just use your consumer power and wait until a game goes on sale before buying.

@maitkarro @gameremag-ana If developers make a good game (which Rockstar usually does) then they don't need to worry about piracy. They just need to ensure the game runs smooth (GTA IV had issues if you didnt have an powerful PC)

Make the game a steakworks game (support the mod community and it will be a success)

The Piracy excuse is a lame excuse. Skyrim was heavily pirated, but they still sold a ton of games in Steam.

@Inox555 @blackzio But XCOM is a daily deal. Half the games mentioned were "on-going" sales that are moderate sales that will be the same from July 11 to July 22...no point picking up any of those until the last possible day (otherwise you would be upset if you get bought one of those games to find it on sale for cheaper a day later)

For example, Amnesia is on sale now for 66% off as an ongoing sale, but its always on sale for 75% or more during a flash sale or actual daily deal.

I would recommend not buying any of those "ongoing deals" listed in the video. All those games will be the same price from now until the end of the sale on Monday.

Video listed Torchlight for $10 and Deus Ex collection for $20...but these were on Flash sales and daily deals for $5 and $6!

Be patient with the Steam sale if the games you want aren't a daily deal or Flash sale. You can easily save more money (or buy more games) if you wait for a Flash/daily deal.

@hampton2003 If I were you, I'd be patient.

If its not offered as a Flash Sale or community choice, its very likely it may be offered on the last day of the sale as a last chance sale (they've done that every summer and xmas sale for the past few years, where the top AAA games are always included. I would think Borderlands, Bioshock and Metro will all have atleast one more daily deal or flash sale opportunity.

PS: I will help vote for Metro for you, I got Deus Ex for $3 :D

@NightOfInsomnia For the most part I've mostly got cheaper stuff (indie games mostly). System Shock 2 for $2.50 was a good deal (considering GOG's summer sale had it for $5), and Tomb Raider for $12 was not bat at all :)

I'm gonna be smart with my purchases this year (not jumping on any of the new daily deals since they each last 48 hours). Will wait and see what Day twos deals are.
