@dsb333 @YoungCardinal @osxgp @naz99 Exeryone makes mistakes, but its very annoying how people have the need to reply and correct mistakes. Forums, comment boards etc are notorious for poor grammar and punctuation.
I try to be punctual whenever I type anything (to avoid bad habits), but its one of the most annoying things online when you get grammar nazis' replying that its "your're" not your etc. As you may have noticed, now just trying to read this comment page, its filled with random comments unrelated to the original article. Keep it to yourself and it helps filter out spam comments (and i understand its a bit ironic that I'm explaining this in the comments, which is adding to the unrelated nature from the article)
Bad spelling may be someones pet peeve, but something replying to my comments and correcting my every mistake is a pet peeve of mine :P.
"I really have to laugh at all the PC users out there saying that console owners have to pay to play online...really? So you get free internet service from your ISP? Wow. What a bunch of morons."
PC gamers don't need to pay an additional fee to use PS+ or Xbox Liv, you just need to pay your ISP.
Both next-gen consoles require an additional fee ($50/year for PS+, and $60/year for XBL)
@mikemaj82 @dsb333 That "free" internet you speak of is actually from your router, your ISP provides you with a modem and internet, which you then connect to a router to connect multiple devices to said internet.
@RS13 Here is the list of requirements for streaming:
GPU: GeForce GTX 650 or higher desktop GPU (Notebook GPUs are not supported at this time)
CPU: Intel Core i3-2100 3.1GHz or AMD Athlon II X4 630 2.8GHz or higher
System Memory: 4GB or higher
OS: Windows 8 or Windows 7
Software: GeForce Experience application and latest GeForce drivers
Routers: 802.11a/g router (minimum). 802.11n dual band router (recommended). A list of recommended routers will be provided at launch.
What I meant by most PC gamers don't care about portable gaming, I meant playing games on phones. This is a product that serves two purposes:
1. Play games you can play on your smartphone (phone hardware it exponentially increasing right now so this becomes dated pretty quickly)
2. Stream select PC games from your steam library (more to be supported after Beta). I don't think many care for this feature, cause if someone wanted to game at their house, it would make more sense to use your higher powered PC and peripheral; better user experience in my opinion.
Any portable gamer who happens to be a PC gamer likely plays the Vita or 3DS. Those offer unique exclusives (not just replay the same games you can already play on your PC or phone).
@RS13 People drop a $1000 on a graphics card to get max performance of their games on multi-monitor setups at the highest resolutions.
Most PC enthusiasts don't really care about this product (hence the hate). This is a very niche market the shield provides. You've alienated approximately 30-35% your PC hardware base by requiring an Nvidia based graphics card to play (according to latest Steam hardware survey). Many PC gamers don't enjoy portable gaming systems, a phone serves them fine. They don't need to carry around an extra device just to stream PC games (which is limited to your WiFi network anyway, so most would rather play on their PC instead).
Its PC-centric, but it should be targeting a broader audience.
@WereCatf @gnialtec HL3 has been in development since Episode 2 (was suppose to be Episode 3).
Constant redevelopments and now they've appeared to scrap the episodic gaming all together for a new full sequel. DNF went through a very similar process. It was scrapped and redone multiple times until 3D Realms became broke, so it kinda is the same thing.
@Emerald_Scott @R-tofen Look at Skyrim...The Legendary edition of that just came out recently at full $60 retail, and how long ago did it release?
You can get the base Borderlands 2 right now for $30 plus the season pass still for $30 effectively getting the GOTY Edition for the same price as it would be when its officially released.
The only reason to wait for the GOTY would be to wait for the discounted 4-pack combo that comes with it, and that will likely be a long wait.
Borderlands 2 is a great game, but probably best enjoyed with full 4-player co-op with your friends. I don't trust random online games cause everyone wants to hog all the good loot :)
