@nightbreed58 Did you ever stop to consider that a game earns it's score based on it's own merits, or lack thereof? I have never heard of a "fake" review. It seems pretty tangible to me, because I can clearly see it.
I cannot stand when there are pre-order bonuses period, but I REALLY cannot stand when you have to decide where to buy it in order to get the one you want. I think Deus Ex HR did this too. There were like 3 or 4 different bonus packs. I hate it when they do shit like that. So that means if you want any of the other courses, you either don't get them at all if they are not offered as DLC (which I also hate), or you have to pay for them. Blah...oh well, this game will probably not come out on PC anyway. And let me guess, there is no Augusta National again right? Stupid fucks.
I wonder if Sony and Microsoft are playing chicken with one another. If one is released several months before the other, then the later console might be able to boast better hardware. I am just speculating, but perhaps they are holding back hoping the other makes the first move. Anyway, even if the game doesn't look as visually stunning as the developers had hoped, that doesn't mean that the gameplay should suffer all that much.
I think they should have taken a page out of Ubisoft's book and gone back to the jungle for number 3. The urban settings seem too crowded as far as player path choices. Crysis games are getting more and more linear with each one that comes out it seems. I didn't care too much for the robotic "aliens" from the first couple of games either, so seeing some more humaniod aliens in the 2nd game was a nice change. Still, I feel like the story and gameplay has changed to the point where it doesn't feel like Crysis to me anymore. I mean, they try to tell you where to go for stealth, sniping, and whatever else in Crysis 2 when you reach a new area. Isn't the power of the suit enough to enable the player to decide where to go and what to do? I guess not. It is almost like these developers make M rated games easy enough for a 10 year old to play on purpose. **Sigh** There is no more faith given to the player anymore with all of the hand holding in games recently. Truthfully, the story isn't nearly as important to me as the gameplay in this type of game. Sure, I like a game that has both, but if I have to choose between good story and good gameplay, the gameplay will win every time.
@Tekken312 Because these greedy execs have done research that shows F2P as being more profitable. Some users spend 200-2,000 on in game items. F2P games are also not pirate-able, because they are already free anyway. It is only a ploy to make more money.
Looks like I have played my last Crysis game already. I am not sure 3 will be any good, and even if it is, I surely won't be playing the next ones. I hope this business model fails across the board. I loathe F2P.
I think that the Navy is making the wrong move by saying that they are being reprimanded for releasing secrets. That implies that there are several things in the game regarding jargon, maneuvers, capability, weapons, or tactics that the Navy didn't want to be seen. I think they would have been better off claiming that the game doesn't reveal anything, and then taking care of matters with the said SEALs behind closed doors. This only gives our enemies incentive to pick up the game and try to dissect what might be considered "secret".
