I don't know why so many people take the review scores so personally. It is only intended to give an opinion, and is not the end all be all indication of a game's worthiness of a playthrough/purchase. Bottom line is, the game is "Great (8.5)" which means you should play it. If you really want to nitpick at 1/2 a point or so, write your own review instead of bashing on "this game got this that and the other" regarding GS reviews. Use reviews as a basic guideline to steer you toward or away from a purchase, not as a platform for nerd rage.

@xolivierx Just the fact that you say it is linear and cannot put a finger on which perspective the game is played in shows that you have never played any Far Cry games. Newsflash, they are open world, and it is first person only. Shooters are not exactly story heavy, but this one looks more promising than most. I think you need to reevaluate your opinion, or at least not make it known before knowing what you are talking about.

Great review. The only thing that I can think of that isn't mentioned is the Badass points that you can earn and spend. Essentially you earn points that can be used to level up certain attributes that stay with your user profile and extend to other characters you have created so that you don't have to level up each character seperately (differs from skill trees). This option can be turned off if you really want a bare bones 2nd character. Other than that, the review hits all the marks. Well done.

The game is best enjoyed on the PC anyway. The difference is huge on games like Fry Cry when it comes to visuals. I know many of you will say graphics aren't everything...but if you have a girl that is really good in bed, it doesn't hurt for her to be really sexy to look at too.

@ninjaroach81 It is all about the WiiU's timing. It's hardware was not handed over soon enough in the development process to design the game around it. If it can run on 360, it can run on WiiU. I am not sure how strong the market for M+ titles are on Nintendo anyway. Most Wii owners are kids, elderly, or young adults that grew up with a Wii. I don't think that the young adult (18-25 which is the M+ strongest market) crowd is all that enthusiastic about WiiU. Especially with new consoles only about 1 year away from Sony and Microsoft.

I like trilogies, but anything past that and the quality usually suffers (storywise more than anything) in both movies and video games. Sure there are exceptions as there always will be with these sorts of things. Star Wars is one of them, but that can be argued that it is 2 trilogies, but that is neither here nor there. If they insist on doing more Mass Effect games, I would prefer prequels or even diverting from Shepard's story completely, and focusing on some alien struggles with maybe a Krogan main character or something.

Truthfully, I kinda wish they would just leave the series at 3, but that is pretty rare with developers these days. I wonder when we will see Final Fantasy XXII and Resident Evil 12? I might be more interested in the new IP they are working on.

I don't understand why everyone is up in arms about the given score. I think that everyone can agree that 8.5 is a good score (great in fact..as it says below it). It is best to use these sites as somewhat of a basic guideline to determine whether or not it is worth giving a game a shot. Arguing about the score is kinda pointless. It will not change for one, and two, the given score does not affect the game when you play it. Just accept that the score is a good one, and that it means the game is worth playing. Man, you would think that some of these games are the brain child of some of the posters. It seems like there is always some debate about the score. I could care less if Company of Heroes got a 7 or a 10. I love the game, and to me, that is all that matters. Convincing the neighbors or my cousin that a gaming website differs in opinion from me doesn't make a whole lot of difference to me. Just sayin yall.

@LE5LO @Kravyn81 What am I denying exactly? My response was not directed at you in the first place. If you want to hop on a conspiracy train, be my guest. Don't assume that just because you are not a part of the loop as far as JSOC and the President's cabinet that you are entitled to know everything that they do nonetheless. Most everything has been released to the public THAT NEEDS TO BE. I still don't think you understand what clandestine means, or at least that parts of the mission will never be public record.
