@xolivierx: it's pretty typical for day 1. Ps4 and xbox one were sold out for months even after regular restock...the Wii was sold out for months. And even on day 1, Wii U were sold out with lineups hours before stores opened.
@jamesbr27: hmmm. A ps4 is limited to 2TB internally (unless you put that gawd awful storage device on it.) Whereas, you could slap 2x 8TB beasts onto a 2tb xbox one slim and have 18tb. I haven't bothered to Google it, but I am sure you can go even bigger than that....
@preacher001: I agree. Having both consoles creates a conundrum when you have to choose whether to: choose which system to buy a game for whether it's choosing it on your preferred platform, the platform with exclusive content or having to choose which friends to play the game with. Also, if you buy it twice, you have 2 separate accounts/save files and are locked out of your characters and playing with friends on the other game/account count.
@cherub1000: if you aren't downloading anything or streaming tv, 10mb/s should be no different than 100mb/s
It only streams around 5mb/s
If you have a family all using bandwidth for streaming tv/music and a lot of consoles, tablets, pc's, mobile phones constantly downloading/updating, you're going to get bottlenecks.
@bellz666: I have a 60mb/s connection using ethernet and have 3 tv's running Netflix, as well as 2 xb1's and a ps4 constantly updating. I found the subscription completely playable (near Toronto, not sure how far from the servers.) The sound is often tinny or breaks up and there is certainly a lot of macroblocking and digital artifacting (like a satellite in a snow storm) just briefly here and there, but the gameplay stays okay.
That being said, your mileage may very and this service really should be either tacked on to PS plus or call it a ps plus pro and add a nominal premium fee by maybe $2 extra a month...
