It depends on the game for me and what kind of mood I'm in. I enjoy games with a great story, but also sometimes I really couldn't care less because I'm way more interested in the mechanics.

Story is definitely not the main reason I play any games though. Mechanics always take a higher priority for me, but sometimes I can disregard the issues with game design if the story is intriguing enough.

Actually the 3DS is proof that a dedicated handheld can co-exist with mobile devices in the handheld gaming market. If you're talking about the Vita only, then I'd agree with you.

A number of people who play games also prefer physical buttons for gaming. There still hasn't been a standardized method of playing mobile games with a dockable controller. There's still a market out there for people who want a dedicated handheld, the companies just have to adapt to changing pricing models.

The console market is pretty crap and the big AAA titles are also pretty stale. Why am I going to pay for a new console when the game experiences are literally the same as the last but prettier.

PS4/Xbox One sales are going to tapper off eventually and both will get a price cut this year.

This generation has honestly been the most underwhelming one. Everything looks fucking boring, from everyone. All the indie stuff looks great, but the big AAA titles look stale.

Hey look Missouri is joining in on the fun too.

A Republican state lawmaker on Monday filed legislation that would allow Missouri business owners to cite religious beliefs as a legal justification for refusing to provide service.

Although it doesn’t mention sexual orientation, the bill could provide legal cover for denial of services to same-sex couples.

The legislation, sponsored by Sen. Wayne Wallingford of Cape Girardeau, states that a governmental authority shall not substantially burden a person’s free exercise of religion unless the government demonstrates that it has a compelling interest.

To supporters of the idea — similar to legislation filed in several other states — the goal is to make it clear that private individuals can use religious beliefs as a defense in litigation.

“We’re trying to protect Missourians from attacks on their religious freedom,” Wallingford said.

@lostrib: What? I said it's not a problem. We do not have large groups of politicians enacting legislation to oppress others.

that doesn't mean discrimination and bigotry isn't an issue

The whole point was it's not a political issue in Canada. Which is factually correct, none of those things are political issues. People can still be bigots in Canada for sure, but on a political scale none of those issues come up here.

Okay, that doesn't mean you don't have discrimination issues

Okay, maybe my wording was wrong - but what I meant was it's not anywhere near the same as the US. Compare political issues with the US. We don't have debates about gay marriage, abortions, "right to discriminate" bills, etc. We're far, far more progressive and accepting.

really? we're supposed to believe that bigotry isn't an issue in canada?

It does, but certainly not at the same level as the US.

Disgusting.

I don't understand how in 2014, this is still an issue in many parts of the US.

Really? Considering we just went through all sorts of issues about racism due to the Trayvon Martin case, you really shouldn't be surprised that bigotry is an issue in 2014 (and pretty much in all parts of the US)

I'm aware of that. I'm just still surprised that a country like the USA still battles with these kind of Issues. In Canada this kind of thing never happens.
