Chances are that Nintendo are stockpiling at least a reasonable number of Wii's for the christmas period. It will still be in short supply and probably get outsold by the 360 for at least one of the holiday months but there will be more available. Why would Nintendo stockpile Wii's? Because people shopping for christmas presents get more pissed off if they can't find what they want = bad image for Nintendo.

Anyway just my (baseless) opinion.

Most likely your Tv was already upscaling the image so you won't see much of a difference.

Is this for Wii?

If so then - 'It hurtz my eyes' - 'It looks like an N64 game'

Is this for PS3?

If so then - 'This will be downgraded from the E3 vid' - 'Not real time" - 'Runs at 60 fps on X360'

Is this for X360?

If so then - 'Looks better on PC' - 'Shame you won't be able to play coz of RROD'

Is this for PC?

If so then - "will cost $6000 to play' 'would rather play on my 200inch plasma screen TV'

Anything above 2Gb is not neccesarily the same technology as regular SD. Anyone used a SDHC card in a Wii succesfully? Otherwise the Wii will be limited to 2Gb per card. A USB harddrive option would be nice provided any hard drive could just be plugged in. I have a 500 Gb USB harddrive which cost less than $100 I could just plug in and use.

Controls will almost definitely be different next gen. Look to PC's to get some amazing new control methods over the next five or so years which expand on what the Wii has pioneered. Hopefully there will be some standardization on how to make motion controls work by the time the next gen roles around.

I think the Wii could do 1:1 pretty close assuming that it was being held in a specific grip in your hand (as this restricts the orientations that the Wii can be in) and you are moving relatively slowly (not enough to max out the accelerometers). However the dificulty is in how is the motion interpreted into a game, you need a very complex system to model an arm accurately, and still what would be represented on screen if you moved in a way that is physically impossible in a game. And in a baseball game where our motions were accurately mapped and the computer played like a real pro we would never hit a single pitch! We play games for escapism, too much realism is a bad thing.

It won't flop because the gamesites need gamers to make their money. Halo is the biggest money maker out there, and the biggest draw for the kind of gamers that frequent game sites. You can flop MP3 because you will earn as many hardcore gamers as you lose. You could even flop Bioshock and not piss off too many people (I know it didn't flop). But you can't flop Halo3 because Halo gamers are the life blood of websites like this. Halo3 is potentially AAA on its own merits, but it was pretty much guaranteed AAA before a single line of code was written

No game is guarenteed AAA.

I honestly think Halo is the one exception, especially at gamespot. They would risk losing too many of their customers to 1up or whoever else gives it a 9 or above.

than a great game with bad graphics. Isn't gameplay described as how fun a game is? Well I could never find an ugly game fun. And I'm pretty tired of hearing Gameplay > Graphics. Thats so far from the truth. It's Gameplay = Graphics. If you don't have both it's impossible to be classified as a great game. And the Wii sucks. No all consoles suck. 360 doesn't work, and the PS3 is nothing more than a cheap blu ray player.

And I won't even get into games, everyone already knows the best games are on PC. Been like that since day one.

At least I think so.

You might as well stop playing games now then, as the games that are out currently look like crap relative to the ones which will be out ten years from now.

[QUOTE="Flauntais"]GS will not flop Halo 3 because it has the word 'Halo' in the title. Every gaming site will start their ratings for the game at the very least a 9.0 and build up from there. Just like the other overhyped/overrated games in the series. It's sad really.Killer2401

Great graphics is a must for any game I play. And I know alot of people just like me. Graphics = Gameplay imo.

nmaharg

You can say that Graphics = good game, in your opinion, but saying graphics equal gameplay doesn't make any sense. Ie movies are not great games as they lack the 'game' part. Gameplay is hard to quatify (think of the feeling you get when you hit a baseball perfectly) and often the simplest games tend to have the best gameplay (ie tetris, pacman). Graphics, storyline, audio etc are not part of gameplay but can be part of what makes a game great.
