[QUOTE="Ontain"] I agree with this. ppl make kb/m seem more intuitive then they are. I've tried to teach ppl including my gf how to play an fps. it's a huge struggle at first. a long learning curve. it's like when i try to use dual analogs. i just can't get it because i'm not used to it. i'm so used to the mouse.Jandurin

Pfft. kb/m is easy-sauce. I hate dual-analogue control :x.

I do need my mouse's vertical business to be inverted though. Or I'll just suck it up hardcore.

Thats the point, once people get used to playing with a certain control scheme, it is hard for them to adapt to a different way. It's not the fault of the controller just the instincts of the player. The first FPS I played extensively on PC was Jedi Knight which has the vertical mouse axis inverted as default relative to what is standard for FPS nowadays, and so this is the control scheme I learned. I literally cannot play without the mouse inverted, even though the range of motions etc are exactly the same, I just cannot overcome my instinct to push the mouse forward to look down.

I haven't played any of the other versions of RE4, but I think the controls in the Wii are pretty good. My guess is that they didn't implement the pointer for sniping because it would have been too easy unless they completely changed the level designs and the speeds at which enemies move. For anyone who thinks that console controllers are intuitive, try having a KB/M PC FPS gamer play a console FPS for the first time. See how many times they end up staring at the floor or ceiling. Or try playing a PC FPS with mouse inverted and see how intuitive KB/M is then. It takes time to get used to a different control scheme, no-one should expect any less.

Rayman and Boogie aren't Nintendo. And what do you mean by hard to find? Like they get hidden behind other games in gamestop?

[QUOTE="FireEmblem_Man"]There's casuals for everything!!! There's those that like to watch movies that wins Academy Awards and there are those that like a quick buck comedy movies!!! The same can be said with music like how some prefer underground rap against comercial rap!!!gecko_hawaii13

This is a good point, but we're not arguing that there are casual, but that the majority of Wii's are owned by casuals.

People who tend to watch more artistic movies are more discerning not more hardcore. They probably watch LESS movies than people who watch the latest comedy or blockbuster. And of course the majority of people like to watch a variety of movies, some brainless action or comedy movies, some artistic thought provoking movies. Hardcore only refers to the amount of time spent playing game, it says nothing about the quality of the game.

For the record I am a casual player, and I got up early one Sunday morning and went with my wife to buy a Wii, who was desperate to get a Wii to play Rayman Rabbids after playing it with some friends. I am currently playing Resident Evil 4 (AAA), which will last me until a new quality title comes out, given that I only have 3 or 4 hours a week to play games.

If you ever typed in an entire game from a code listing in a magazine. If you ever loaded a game from an audio cassette tape. If you remember being shocked by how awesome a game was because it had a 3 second long static ridden audio sample. Then you are a relic, and probably from the UK. Spectrum 48K FTW (and yes its entire memory was 48K)
