HDTV resolution comes in a few flavors:
720p = 1280 x 720 or 1366 x 768
1080i and 1080p = 1920 x 1080

Obviously the more pixels there are, the more detail there is. If you have a chance, head to your local electronics store and check out how much better the picture looks on a good HD display. You really have to see it with your own eyes.

Quality Difference:

This shot shows the difference in detail from HD-DVD to a regular DVD that has been upscaled.

Size Comaprison:

This image shows a 480p shot in the corner ontop of the same image stretched to 1080p. Not a good comparision for quality, but a great visual for the actual size difference. I had originally made this image to illustrate how awful Zelda looked on an HDTV. ;)

One more thing!  1366x768 is NOT an HD resolution. It is a common native resolution of most LCD "720p" TV's. I know of no device (other than a PC) that outputs 1366x768. If your TV has this native resolution, you will NEVER have a matching input and every single HD source you put in will be scaled to match the screen resolution.

Seems like nothing but a bunch of spin to me.

The fact that it's selling faster than the PS1, but slower than the PS2 is kind of irrelevant. 

The industry has EXPLODED since the launch of the PS1 and the PS2, so those numbers are meaningless for comparison.

The only meaningful comparison is comparing it to the same period for the Wii and 360.

Uh.... 18% is WAY off.

For investors, 18% off the mark is "sell now".

I don't see it anywhere on my saves. I remember seeing it in the 360 version, but I can't find it for the life of me on the PS3 version.

I'll get it under the following conditions:

1. I am finished with Oblivion. (just startd a new game with a new character)

2. It get's great reviews. (high 8's or low 9's at least)

If both of those things happen, it's sold! 

One thing I FIRMLY believe is that graphics are part of gameplay. The better the graphics are the more I can be pulled into the game and enjoy it.

If the guys hands look like mittens with lines drawn on for fingers, that takes away from the game's ability to draw me into it's world.
