First of all skullcandy said everything right. You must patch a game no matter what type especially if you are having stability problems. Secondly the minimum specs are often set too low. Publishers do this on purpose to increase their sales base. Meeting the minimum spec is often not enough to guarantee a game will run without some tweaking. Pay particular attention to what graphic cards are supported. People often overlook this part and its the most important.

oh nevermind. I see you specs in your sig. No you won't be able to max it out. You have a great system so don't think I am putting it down but if we are talking about maxing our fsx your going to need multiple videocards.

What are your specs? I can tell you if you want a decent frame rate with the enhanced edition you probably can't max it out no matter what you have on any high resolution. I have seen people with quad sli setups see some frame rate lag around big cities at night.

right click on the executable file and select compatibility and select windows 98 in the dropdown menu. Then try to run it and see if that helps.

Overclock your e2180, I have a spare pc rocking one at 3.6 ghz easy.JigglyWiggly_
Uhhh DO NOT DO THIS. This is someone who thought they had an awesome system like it was. They certainly don't know what they are doing enough to overclock and going from 2.0 to 3.6 ghz is a dangerous leap. I can almost guarantee you he has a stock heat seat. Best case scenario he locks up his pc and doesn't have a clue how to do a cmos reset. Worst case, he destroys his processor.

I am surprised no one mentioned his processor. Its really slow and may be as much a bottleneck as the graphic card. Also memory is not created equal. 2 gigs of what quality? I am guessing its not fast, low latency stuff either. It might be time to look at a new pc rather than trying to patch an old one together. And make sure you buy one that is really for gaming. (no less than $1000 from a pc builder and don't buy in a store at all.) I think a mid range system would look more like q6600 2.4 ghz cpu 4 gigs of ddr2 memory (1066 with timings no worse than 15-5-5-5) 8800gt

No I agree with you. Its ridiculous. And a lot of pc gamers look at a ps3 or xbox dvd that can be sold used and ask whats the difference. Frankly I think EB games and amazon selling used pc games is a scam. They say that they don't guarantee a cd key knowing full well that people are 99% of the time buying a game as a first purchase and not to replace a damaged dvd. They skirt the law and don't care if the end user gets screwed.

Just a tip, In the US it is never legal to play a used pc game. When you buy a pc game you aren't really buying the disk but are in effect buying the right to use it. It spells this out in the EULA. The only time its ok to buy a used pc game is if you have a legit cd key but damaged the disk somehow. Then you can buy a used copy for the disk but you must still own a legal cd key.
