No matter what Maxis and EA do, no matter what they say, SimCity 2013 will forever be tainted by this incident. Always Online DRM receives yet another reason to be hated and condemned by the gamer community.
@rogue81 @quantumtheo We can't really blame @quantumtheo or any other people from thinking this way specially with the "Kane and Lynch" Review and the controversial firing of the reviewer a few years back.
Origin is like a black hole, once something goes in, no way in hell will you be able see it again. This applies to both developers who put their games on Origin, and the gamers who give their money to it.
@reincarnator07 I agree, if you look at the game in it's own merits, its pretty good. The only major game breaking flaw would be the always online DRM which punishes paying customers more than the piracy they want to combat..
This is exactly the reason why I don't pre-order or buy on the first day.
When EA start to disable features (even if it is non-critical), and call that a "fix". Then it basically failed in the release, failed the franchise, and more importantly, failed its fans and supporters.
