@iamzeroxx Assuming you played last gen games, back then new multilayer maps were included in patches not sold as DLC, new weapons and skins were unlocked not sold as "IM AM PRO DLC pack", new characters were unlocked as rewards for completing the game. All of which were available in one complete game or it's subsequent patches.
@iamzeroxx Its not about how much money we can spend on the DLC, its about getting the most of buying a supposed full game at its original price of $60. If we buy the retail price of the game, there's a reasonable expectancy that what your buying is a full game.
@green_scorpion If we support them, then it's expected that they should support us (all gamers regardless of platform). The relationship should go both ways.
@Nomad-N7 If you take a step back and examine this marketing strategy of Microsoft, its basically a lose-lose for all parties involved, players, developers, publishers, even MS itself so now I wonder, why are they even considering this as an option?
@charlyk88 @St0rmgazer @aeterna789 People like myself buy consoles primarily due to it's mobility (unlike a full desktop PC). That means, I can play it at home, at my friends house, at a relatives house, at a party or even on top of a mountain resort, not all of which have internet connections. If the rumors are indeed true, this are two really large nails on the xbox's coffin.
People rage primarily because they feel cheated if what they bought is below their expectation, which is very understandable. In my opinion, It's better for people to purchase products once the overall reviews are in. This applies for both games and their respective platforms. The benefits of a pre-order or day-one purchase is severely outweighed by the massive loss of money from a product you did not enjoy.
@Solid_Azeus @CP2077 @VenkmanPHD They are not telling him to stop playing on consoles, they are merely suggesting another alternative on gaming. Like yourself, it's good to have other cheaper sources for games.
@St0rmgazer Actually you make a really good point. What does happen when our system eventually breaks? That means our entire game collections / library becomes worthless. And speaking from experience, the xbox isn't known for durability.
@Incubus420 I agree with you on the "always on connection" part because it will definitely affect gamers who does not have a fast, or at least stable internet connection. However, I don't agree that blocking used games is a smart move. Not everyone can afford 2 Xboxes and not everyone wants to buy 2 copies of the same game. Rather than buying two copies Game A, I'd rather buy 1 copy of Game A and another game altogether. Generally speaking, people want to get the most of their money.
