The PS3 is still selling, so no. Also, the 360 isn't dominating the Wii, as it sold far less in the May/April/March/Jan NPD results for 2010.

I do not agree with you.

lundy86_4

Let's talk about June sales. What can you tell me? This month too, it's not even close. The 360 is the top dog in the states. I'm sorry but it's true.

July's NPD results haven't been released yet and June's is easy... Xbox dominated due to a new hardware release, i.e. the 360 S. Hardware revisions such as the "slims" (as they have become known as) generally boost sales rather well. MS also did well with staggering it's new Arcade launch AFTER the S initial launch, thus keeping up the sales.

Also, the Wii has far outsold both in the States, so how can it be top dog. Again, use facts my friend, facts.

July NPD is not out yet but why don't you just follow the link below. It's not even close in July. Just stating facts.

PS3 is doing well, I don't see the point of discontinuing it.

mitu123

Doing well? You must mean in your heart.

Let's be clear about this. I'm talking about sales. More specifically i'm talking US sales.

Do you not agree with me that the videogame industry is a business above all?

When you compare the PS3 sales to the 360 it's not even close. And now that the 360 is crushing the Wii, where does that leave the PS3?

In Japan and Europe things are different sure, but i'm talking specifically about the US.

I'm sorry guys, I really am. I know it's hard but the truth is never easy.

I know the PS2 was great and a there's a lot of PS babies out there but this is a business and we have to be logical. The 360 has destroyed the PS3 in america and now they are even dominating the Wii.

There is no longer a reason to even keep the PS3 on the shelves in america. Unless Sony is a masochist and wants to keep losing money. Move will fail big also btw and maybe then more people will listen.

I know the PS3 is popular in Japan and to some degree in Europe so it's fine if they continue to carry it there. But come on, in the US let's just stick a fork in it, it's done!

I know it's hard PS babies, but it's about time you let it go.

It's time, who agrees with me?

I will give you credit, this build is not completely horrible. But the case is terrible. In reality no one would build a gaming system with that case. Minimum would be the Antec 300 or coolermaster 590. Also, where is your keyboard, mouse and speakers? And you did not include shipping did you?

Finally, even with this system you can't max out DX11 games. You can play DX11 games and that's good but you can't max them out. You'd have to buy another 5770 and run it in crossfire or buy a better card.

Anyway, nice effort.

Xigmatek makes great quality stuff, and that case is fine for a budget build. Keyboard and mouse and earbuds can be picked up at a thrift store for $10, you dont need anything fancy. Shipping was $20 but that is still below your original estimate of $666. You can not max out every game, i said that already a long time ago, but you can max out all but a few games. And you need to admit that your origninal argument that a $666 computer would only be playing games on medium is totally incorrect.

I should clarify, with that PC you will only be able to run NEW DX11 games on medium. I'm sure you can max out old games.

[QUOTE="clyde46"] Well, its an overclocked bundle and in that, you get a decent motherboard, CPU, CPU cooler and RAM. Not bad for £250. Also unless you have difficulty reading. It says VTX ATI Radeon 1024mb 5770.clyde46

Ok I saw it's a 5770. That's a decent card but it's not good enough to max out DX 11 games. Sorry.

Name me one game that uses DX11 to its FULL!

Just a shade over £600

I can't even tell what video card that is? ANd that processor is years old and a piece of crap. An Athlon II X4 costs less than $100 and is much better than that. And it fits in the new AM3 slot.

Anyway, what videocard is that?

My old 4670 could run DoW2 on high at 1680x1050 so your right, he is wrong.

lundy86_4

I just don't understand this whole argument. At first it was to max games, now we have to max in DX11? It's perfectly reasonable to max a game in DX10, just lacking DX11 features. Likely many devs won't take advantage of DX11 fully for a long time anyways.

Max graphics are MAX, the best available. How do you just disregard the DX11 build just because your old cheap videocard doesn't run it? Maybe to win an argument on the internet but in reality most people just buy a DX11 card and be done with it.
