Lakers Win Championship, Celtics win Case of Turtle Wax (turtle not included)

I know, I call it for the Lakers every year, but when they actually win, its sometimes surprising, hehe. After a hard fought game by both teams, the Lakers came out ahead. I'm just hoping they dont start burning trees again over near the Staples Center again like last year. They have some oddballs around here.

Game 7 Fun Facts:

Nosebleed Seat at Staples: $900 (you can barely see the court from here. If you squint hard, you might be able to tell Kobe apart from Pau Gasol.)

Courtside Seat: $40,000 (You'd be so close to Jack Nicholson, you'd be practically in his lap. If you were a hot girl or a guy in a dress, you'd definitely be in his lap.)

Nintendo Rocks e3, Other Emblems Sit in Jealous Silence

Hope you've all been enjoying e3!

I thought Nintendo's conference totally rocked!

They showed off Zelda, Epic Mickey, Mario Sports Mix, Kirby, Goldeneye, Metroid, Golden Sun, the 3DS with Kid Icarus (which looked really nice) and a bit of DK. They mentioned Dragon Quest but didnt show any of it, unfortunately.

I'm kinda psyched to see what they'll put out for the 3DS, as it looks like it has quite a bit of potential. The best thing about Nintendo's conference is that I could see myself playing pretty much everything they showed. I can never say that about MS or Sony's stuff.

anyone else think it's a little funny that just a few years ago, sony and MS were calling the wii's motion controls gimmicky and that's been their main focus this year? O.O

June Gloom

Hello, my shiny, happy, Gamespot friends! I hope you're all keeping the June Gloom at bay!

I just got back from Gamestop and in typical Alli shopping spree fashion, I picked up:

Thats right, I should be back on XBL shortly, so feel free to send those friend invites, PMs, dirty messages, etc. It comes with a 250gb hdd, which I wanna try and fill up, bwa ha.

I also picked up:

and

Anyone else looking forward to E3?

I am!

There arent a ton of games I'm looking forward to, but the top 2 I'd like to see more of include:

Many of you probably dont know this, but I've been a huge fan of Civ, since the original, for PC and have played Civ, Civ II, III, IV, and Test of Time quite a bit, clocking well over 100 hours each. The only one I havent played is the console version, which I'd really like to one of these days.

The other game which I'm looking forward to is:

Ive been a fan of Fallout since the original as well, though Ive put in way more time on Fallout 3 than any of the prequels.

Hope you all have a great week/weekend, I should probably hook this thing up. O.O

8 Ball in the GS Side Pocket

Hello, Gamespotters!

That's right, today is my 8th year anniversary of signing up to GS. (see my first name here, for actual date).

After 8 years, I'm beginning to think that this Gamespot site may just take off one day. =P

The diagnosis on my laptop is that both hard drives are defective and geek squad recommends one or two new ones at a premium of 200 or 300 dollars, respectively. I'm not about to pay that, especially after paying 70 for them to tell me that my laptop didnt work. I may as well buy a new one. What's sad is that Ive sent this thing back to sony twice since getting it so you'd think if anything was defective that they woulda fixed it. I know, thats a silly thought.

There are a few games out that I woudnt mind getting my hands on. Red Dead Redemption and Super Mario Galaxy 2, among them. Two very different games, of course. One is a tale of epic adventure set in the Wild West, and one is Red Dead Redemption. =P Sadly they'll both have to wait, as a new laptop is currently my priority.

With my 360 still MIA, No wii, and a laptop that may work at times, my ps3 has been getting a bit of playtime. I picked up Heavy Rain and found out, like most games, I suck at the quick time event button pressing, having successfully killed off a couple main charries already. That was kind of a turn off so I havent played since. =P

Hope you're all having a great week!

Laptop Getting Serviced, I Hope

Well the geek squad is now looking at my laptop. (not out of the goodness of their hearts, mind you, they charged me 70 bucks to check it out). Of course when I get there and geek squad guy plugs it in, it boots up fine, twice and the second partition shows up and everything. He tries again and it gets to windows in record time, of course, and looks at me, like I'm a few genes just shy of devolving into some kind of half chimp like creature. So I leave it there. Hopefully they wont do anything unnatural to it.

My aunt bought a new pc, an HP something or other with all the bells and whistles. 8 gb ram, 1tb hard drive, etc. A nifty looking 23 inch hd monitor too. So I spent the night here and helped her get it going and install all her stuffs. (Though the only thing she really uses are email and office). Its probably a good thing that she isnt a gamer as the card on this thing is kinda weak (Geforce 9100, 256mb). Whats funny is her windows index score is exactly the same as my laptop, a 4.4, not that I put much stock in arbitrary numbers.

Sleeping here is icky, I have to sleep on the couch, and my druggie cousin is always lurking about. Her house is always unnaturally cold compared to mine (60 degrees vs 80 lol), At least my cousin hasnt traded my xbox for magic beans yet. Maybe I can grab it before I leave. I noticed Julie and Julia on the netflix stream. I love that movie, especially the parts with Meryl Streep. Kinda makes me wish I was married to Stanley Tucci, hehe. (As I'm sure most guys wish that too). If you havent seen it yet, I highly recommend it.

Damn Moody Laptop

This laptop has been really weird lately. Last weekend I couldnt get to windows at all, and I finally get to windows on Monday and the intel rapid storage technology app comes up and says something about performance and promptly causes the second partition where i;d backed up all my files, to disappear. Windows also says I need a new raid driver? which I download.

Well I get WoW running and it seems to work okay all week, minus the missing partition and today it doesnt want to get to windows anymore. Isnt that weird?? Well I do startup repair and as usual it tells me it cant repair anything and then reboot and then it decides to load windows. =P I dunno what's going on with it but I'm gonna take it to best buy later and have them fool with it. Sooo I may not be around for a bit.

While I'm at Best Buy, I may pick up Heavy Rain, as its the only game out that Ive been wanting to play. I watched the GS first hour of Alan Wake and it looks great, unfortunately my 360 is still MIA.

Hope you guys have a great week!

PC problems again

My PC is acting up again it seems. I dont know why my laptop can run fine for months on end and one day it decides that nothing wants to work at all. WoW wouldnt run at all today, windows took a good 30 min to boot up and frequent blue screens meant windows restarts a plenty. Im not sure whats going on, as everything before today has been fine. I ran a malware check this morning and nothing malicious (or delicious), was found.

I guess I'm gonna be up tonight reformatting and reinstalling windows. What a pain.

Things to do at Level 60 When You're Dead.

Hello, my lovelies! (and spazz!)

You've probably noticed I havent been blogging much lately, Well...its because Ive been playing lots and lots of WoW. Every char that you have you can check your total played time on. Soo I thought it might be fun to see how much time Ive actually sunk into WoW.

____________

Charrie 1: 24 days

Charrie 2: 43 days

Charrie 3: 29 days

Charrie 4: 14 days

Charrie 5: 22 days

Charrie 6: 15 days

Charrie 7: 31 days

Charrie 8: 9 days (shes new =P)

_______________

*24 hrs game time = one day =P

*all times rounded to the nearest day

*only counted charries Ive played with significantly

Obviously if you add these all up, it looks like Ive actually played a lot. =P

Thats not me (more or less)

Just letting you all know that I let my cousin borrow my 360, so if you see Allicrombie on XBL, its not me, but he may still be wearing women's clothing =P. Also please refrain from the usual barrage of naughty PMs on XBL, as my cousin may enjoy them far too much.

Tuesdays With Alli 4/7

Welcome to Tuesdays with Alli, the only blog that's supposed to be on Tuesday that's usually posted on Wed-Sun!

I'm coming to you live from the center of what some are calling, "The Big One", others are calling, "The Little One Before the Big One", and yet others are calling it, "The Little One, Before the Series of Little Ones, Before a Medium Sized One, Before a Bigger Than Normal One, Before a Really Scary Extra Large With Cheese". Water in swimming pools swished back and forth and spilled over slightly. Picture frames were suddenly askew. For 20 seconds, chaos ruled in Southern California,

Quotes from terrfied locals included the popular,

"The water in my pool moved!", and,

"Did you feel something??" ...."Me neither".

At my house, we had a little rocking back and forth, nothing serious. The neighbors began to chant in a long forgotten ancient language, (probably Spanish), as if summoning some deity for protection. The news made it sound as if this was the second coming or something. I think they even mentioned that NORAD was at Defcon 3. =P

We also went to see "How to Train Your Dragon" about a week ago and it was great. Easily up there with some of Dreamworks' best, (Shrek, Kung Fu Panda, etc), it was funny and the visuals were quite nice, I highly recommend it, especially if you wanna drag some kids along.

We saw "Alice in Wonderland", this past Sunday and it was a lot better than I expected. (With Tim Burton, you never quite know =P). The visuals and soundtrack are both excellent and Johnny Depp is great as the Mad Hatter. I loved the Cheshire Cat, hes so cute and floaty! Definitely recommended.

I've been misplacing things lately and its probably because I'm an old fart (31). I always imagine that there's this group of really dumb thieves, just waiting outside my house for me to leave and they wanna break in, just to steal my toothpaste, or something small like that. They even have a silly conversation:

Robber 1: psst...here's the plan, we break in, steal the toothpaste, and run out.

Robber 2: duh, why are we doing this again?

Robber 1: To mess with her head, idiot.

Robber 3: Can we steal other stuff while we're in there, you know, valuables?

Robber 1: Heck no, we dont wanna look like robbers here!

Robber 3: But we are robbers!

Robber 2: awe, I thought we were a 70s tribute band, look I even brought my guitar pick!

Robber 3: why are we doing this again?

Robber 1: Okay..nevermind, let's just rob that place we passed with the huge pool. Everyone have their speedos?

Robber 2: I do!

(From there it kinda degrades into a half nude Three Stooges ripoff =P)

Anyway I had this really odd dream the other night. I dont remember all of it, just certain scenes. It kinda started with a subway train crashing and me and a bunch of other random people were running from it, because it was on fire, and we thought it would blow up. Then these aliens in futuristic (silver and black) outfits came and shot everyone with freeze rays and carted us off. I remember being frozen and hoped they wouldnt make me into snowcones. Anyway then we were in this cafeteria on their ship, only it looked like the cafeteria from MASH, like wooden tables and benches. For space faring aliens, they really skimped on the decor. Anyway I went up to one of the guards, he seemed nice and all and he was playing with a little pad with a button and a joystick with a shiny knob, kinda like the old atari gamepads? So I asked what it was and he was all like, "check this out", and pointed to one of the other captured people and I looked and he moved the stick around and the person moved around, where he moved the stick, kinda with a blank expression on her face.

So I asked if I could try it and he seemed kinda hesitant and I was like, "come on, what could happen?", so he let me try and I moved the lady to one of the guards on the other side of the room (they were all over), and pressed the button on the pad and he slapped her, and of course, this started a big fight and I remember sneaking off while everyone was fighting and ran down a few dimly lit hallways and ended up near a prison cell, or at least thats what it looked like, it was bolted to the wall and was navy blue, with a door and no windows, so you couldnt see in and someone was pounding on it to be let out. There were three buttons on the cell near the door, they read, "Lock", "Unlock", and "Order Chinese Takeout", so naturally I pressed the order button and a few seconds later, an asian voice said, "That'll be 45 minutes". I remember thinking that if you're an escaping prisoner, that wasnt very convenient.

So I let the person out and she had a huge rifle and she had a spare, and gave it to me and I thought that was strange cause why would she be locked in a cell and allowed to keep her weapon? unless she was frozen with it or something, and melted out in there, ? (I tried rationalizing all this in the dream, but that didnt work too well). It was a pretty deadly looking weapon, but attached to the top, near where the scope would probably be, was a mini hd screen. It even had a menu you could scroll through on the screen, with stuff like, "take picture" and "send text message". I thought that was a bit odd. She mentioned it was mainly to take and send high res photos of people you were about to kill.

Anyway we made it out I think and I woke up pretty soon after. Anyone else think that was an odd dream? =P
