Guess we both confused ourselves lol ^^'. It will be a little on the difficult side to play while in a moving vehicle because of turns and random bumps. It wont detour me from playing it though, just wont expect 100% on any songs. We wont know what kind of precision is required when strumming the touch screen cords till the game comes out. The website: www.guitarheroontour.com gives an excellent look at the design of the add-on (though it looks like it will be DS lite only and not the old DS). I guess what you are getting at is that any game that requires use of the touch screen with have this failing however it wont bring about the same frustration that some players will feel when their song is messed up by a random bump.

This topic needs to be closed. First, we already have a topic regarding the official information release of GH:OT and second, this thread has broken down and gotten away from the topic at hand.

FallofAthens, I think you misunderstood what I was saying about the feasibility or lack thereof of an actual guitar add-on vs what we have seen thus far that the screens on both DS and PSP arent big enough to sit back with a guitar and be able to see the screen to play.

After finally getting to watch the video (work blocks 98% of streaming sites), strumming on the touch screen looks like it will definitely be manageable however traveling in a car or bus, train or plane, I dont expect myself to get 100% on a song because of the random bumps that will move the stylus prematurely across the touch screen. That is still not going to detour me from getting it. I just hope the songs included will be to my liking.

My only concern is the game itself. I mean, go grab your ds and hold it like you would to play this game. Down the road, it is possibly to squeeze ur hand and the game comes out.jeff16950_demon

Thats a good point. I wonder if they designed the hand grip with that in mind. Another problem that they have to find a way around is for lefties. Should make for an interesting experience for the DS.

Whether its a wireless guitar for the PSP or the DS...the problem is still the same. Both are too small to watch the screen from a distance while you play on the guitar. Another thing...isnt it supposed to be portable? How portable is a game for the DS or PSP that requires a rather large add-on?

I beleive that the same kind of add-on employed for Guitar Hero: On Tour can be redesigned for use on the PSP though it would have to completely wrap around the back of the PSP to reach the data port at top and the bottom for fret button placement. That brings up a question though, for which PSP do you make the game for? Unlike the DS Lite which has been out longer than the PSP slim and was received better over the older DS than the Slim was over the original PSP, there arent enough PSP slims out there in people's hands to be able to clearly justify making the add-on for the slim only. There might be a way to make for both since both arent that much different in size but thats up to the R&D teams.

The style of game play between the two are worlds apart. In terms of storyline...FFXII:RW follows after the events of FFXII for the PS2 in a side story-ish kind of way (not a bad way mind you...it was done very very well). Only thing you will really miss out on is character backgrounds and stories if you bypass FFXII. I would urge you though to play FFXII as it was a great game and an unforgettable experience.

The point is that its portable. Finally found a site at work that wasnt blocked and must say, its pretty decent. Graphics are ok but with that strap (like a camcorder) will make things much easier holding onto the DS while playing. I wouldnt see it on either the DS or the PSP as I got both.

So what about phat DS? Will us old schoolers get a seperate version?jukeyjuke

Thats actually a pretty good question despite the fact that I have the Lite version. I will wait for a review to find out if the songs on it will be worth picking the game up. If it plays with precision like its console counterparts, and the songs are of my liking (rock, metal, etc) then I will pick this up guaranteed. I have high expectations for this one and that fret bar that connects to the DS looks awesome...too bad that it only has four frets instead of five but then again, that might prove a bit difficult for players to move their fingers to hit all five frets while holding the DS. The DS isnt strapped to our shoulders like the guitar hero guitar.

SE seems to be working on some pretty high profile games for the DS. FFTA2, FF4 remake, and now this one. Hoping FF4 makes it out to the US some time this year. This one here definitely looks like a must have. Cant wait.
