something to think about also with the dell widescreen monitors is they are 16:10 ratio not 16:9
so when i display 720p or 1080i ect on my display i get slight black bars at the top and botom of the screen because my monitor is a large aspect ration than high def.
i think the reason for this is video editing on computers, it allows you to see playback bars at the top/bottom of the screen whilst still keeping the full native video running.
in my monitors settings it has a setting for image scaling in the image settings, allowing 1:1 pixel maping, scaling to the full monitor and aspect scaling.
id check the 20 inch 07 monitor has these options because you will probably want to use the scaling option if you set the monitor to 720p, so it fills the rest of the onscreen pixels.

Ahh yeah the black bars happens when i play movies. Doesn't bother me that much though. And it does seem like it do have the scaling options. I think it works, just tried 1024 x 768 and it stretched itself out. I'm guessing that's the thing I need, although I'm a bit afraid it might stretch it so it's 16:10 ratio thus I won't be gettin the black bars and the picture might look a bit stretched. :/
