I hear there were around 2 million shipped out recently (I might be wrong). Considering June sales was around 99k and the 135% increase in sales since price drop (that will probably only be temporarily, my opinion at least) this month might come around 230k = 1.67 mill left. I recon that might last till christmas (Black Friday and Christmas sales might increase it's sale a lot though). So I bet it's gonna stay for at least 3 more months anything from there is a gamble but I "predict" it will stay till christmas or even to 2008. Everyone other than me say 2-3 months though. So give or take.
Tell him PS3 has LittleBigPlanet. A game you might help you learn about game making. So in that case you aren't wasting money on the game but rather investing in your future. Good luck man. That worked for me at least (to some extent at least).
Depending on what you define as 1st party exclusive. If collaberation between Microsoft and a developer is regarded as a studio (examples, Blue Dragon and Gears Of War) then there is a possibility that Microsoft has a good amount of 1st party exclusives. Though I don't agree with "SONY has more 1st party exclusives than Microsoft and Nintendo combined". I think Nintendo is the one who has the most 1st party exclusives though it might just be the impression I've had. Nintendo has almost always lived off their own games since Sony entered. N64 and Gamecube both lived on 1st party titles mainly and even with the Wii, most of the good games are 1st party titles. Like I said it's just an impression I've got, I haven't really counted all of them and will most likely not do so in the future either.
Am I the only one excited about this game? There's no mention of it anywhere. Granted a few big FPS titles is coming, but I kinda like this one and so I'm wondering if I'm like the outsider around here. I'm not usually a FPS fan either but I love games that has supporting characters (teams and the like). Though I didn't try Rainbow Six Vegas unfortunately (loved one of the old RS games though, think it was called rogue spear lol) but this game (BlackSite: Area 51) looks cool (to me at least) and looks like they put some strategy elements into it as well (through the use of the squad).
I don't remember much myself but if I remember correctly. In MGS2 they would do these flashbacks and talk about what happened in the first one. So I dont think you would totally be lost, but no doubt it's always more fun to know the story since you might catch somethin of revelance that might interest u in the sequel(s).
