Shaman King Episode 1 The Boy Who Dances With Ghosts

Oyamada Manta leaves school absorbed in a book. He has a feeling that someone is calling him from the cemetery. Yoh asks him to watch the stars with everyone. Manta is confused - who is everyone? He only sees himself and the boy. Yoh says everyone and a bunch of spirits appear around him. Manta runs off terrified.

The next day at school, Manta tries telling some of his fellow classmates about his experience, but no one believes him. They tease him and laugh. Suddenly, the boy from the cemetery shows up in class. The teacher introduces him as Asakura Yoh. Manta flips out, trying to explain that he’s the kid from the cemetery. When Manta confronts Yoh about the cemetery thing, he denies ever seeing Manta. The rest of the class laughs at Manta’s persistence.

After school, Manta follows Yoh, but loses him after observing him watching water for several hours. Manta decides to go back to the cemetery to find Yoh. A violent man, Ryu of the Wooden Sword, demands that his goons make sure the kid who usually comes by the cemetery stay off his place. As he is lecturing his guys, they stare back at him in terror. Ryu has just stepped on the grave of Amidamaru, the famous legend about a samurai from 600 years ago who killed a bunch of people. By standing on his tombstone, Ryu might just be cursed with his spirit. Ryu is unimpressed and strikes the tombstone with his sword yelling ‘Nattou’ (Japanese fermented soybeans).

Manta witnesses the event and knocks over a can trying to leave quietly. Ryu accuses him of trespassing on their Best Place, and they decide to teach Manta a lesson. The next day, Manta shows up at school completely beaten up. His classmates can’t believe Ryu beat him up. Manta declares that he’s seen spirits, but still no one will believe him. Yoh comes up behind him and affirms the concept. After school, Yoh decides to take him back to the cemetery. He thinks that Manta must be a good person because evil people can’t see spirits. At the cemetery, Yoh ties Manta to a tree and tells him to watch. Yoh decides to face Ryu that night, channeling a spirit. He tells Manta to watch him closely, as he is a Shaman, and then calls Amidamaru. With Amidamaru, he takes out the men attacking him. Ryu attacks, and Yoh defeats him as well. Manta is intrigued.

The next day, Yoh and Manta repair Amidamaru’s tombstone.

Naruto is about to air in 1 hour

Naruto is one of my favorite manga's so I wonder if it will translate well.

From the commercials it sounds like he has a wierd voice. But Naruto is a strange character so it may fit him well.

Rurouni Kenshin Episode 5 The Reverse-blade Sword vs. the Zanbatou

Kaoru and Yahiko worry about Kenshin’s readiness to fight Zanza, while Kenshin wonders why Zanza hates Imperialists so much. Meanwhile, Zanza tosses a set of die, thinking back to himself as a youngster with his father-figure, Captain Sagara. One snowy evening, Captain explained to the boy that soon, the 300 years of Tokugawa rule will end and a new era would begin - an era where the weak will no longer be repressed. Those of the Sekihoutai will take the lead. Sanosuke asks if he can take the Captain’s last name once everyone is equal. Soon, a government official named Tatewaki Shindou rides up, looking for Sagara. He has orders from the government general. In the present, Zanza senses an intruder outside his house. He strikes, finding Gohei, and reassures his employer that he will indeed defeat Kenshin.

Kenshin is playing with Gensai’s grandchildren when he senses Sanosuke in the distance. Elsewhere, Gensai explains that the Sekihoutai were a fake army, a group formed during the Revolution from farmers and traders. They informed the people that taxes would be halved, confusing the people when that never happened. The Imperialists punished them for their crimes. Soon, Ayame comes back and mentions to Kaoru that Kenshin went with Zanza. Concerned, Kaoru and Yahiko head over to the river to stop the fight.

Zanza and Kenshin oppose one another. Zanza first mocks Kenshin’s reverse blade and then attacks. Kenshin stands calm until Zanza strikes and then dodges and strikes Zanza, who goes down. Zanza returns to his feet to the amazement Kaoru, who recalls that Kenshin’s Hiten Mitsurugi Style puts each enemy down with one blow. They continue their fight, but Kenshin sees through the Zanbatou motion each time. He then attacks with multiple blows.

Meanwhile, Zanza’s mind is elsewhere as he recalls being betrayed by the government. An official named Shindou accused them of impersonating an Imperialist army and sentenced them to execution for spreading lies and confusing the people. Sagara understands. The government needs a scapegoat. At one time, they may have promised to half taxes, but now, due to financial difficulties, they cannot. The Sekihoutai will have to take the blame. Shindou explains that in times of war, the winners are just and the losers are evil. Even if a group itself is good, it will become weak. With that, Shindou’s army begins firing upon the Sekihoutai. Sanosuke watches in horror as Sekihoutai fall on all sides of him. He picks up Sagara’s body and carries it to a cliff, until the Captain commands him to leave and pushes him off a cliff, sacrificing his life so Sanosuke could live. The Imperialists blamed the Sekihoutai for everything and then killed them for those deeds. That was when he vowed to get even.

With Zanza out for the moment, Gohei spots an opportunity to fire at Kenshin, who easily blocks the bullets. However, Gohei is able to capture Kaoru and Yahiko in the process. Zanza wants no interference in this match, and frees the captives as Kenshin performs Hiten Mitsurugi Style, Do-ryu-sen. Gohei goes down.

Meanwhile, Kaoru and Yahiko accuse Sanosuke of going after the wrong guy. They still see the Imperialists as a force of justice, while the Sekihoutai are the bad guys. Kenshin corrects them, explaining that the Sekihoutai were used by the Imperialists and cut down ruthlessly. He understands Zanza’s grudge, but Zanza isn’t quite ready to forgive just yet. The Imperialists were the ones that put the character for wicked on the backs of Sagara and the Sekihoutai. They killed them, an unforgivable deed.

Realizing the seriousness of the matter, Kenshin flips his blade the right way as Zanza vows to beat the strongest Imperialist. The two fight hard, but Kenshin uses Ryu-tsui-sen to strike Zanza. He remains standing, refusing to give up. Kenshin hits him and then asks if the Sekihoutai taught him to defeat the Imperialists or complete the Revolution.

Kaoru and Yahiko soon run over to defend Kenshin. Kenshin explains that the Revolution is not yet over. Many are still are oppressed, but he remains a wanderer to protect those people. Zanza admits defeat as Kenshin calls Dr. Gensai.

In town, Kenshin, Kaoru, and Yahiko discuss Zanza’s condition. Gensai said it would take him at least 3 weeks to recover. The group heads over to grab lunch and runs into the desperados from before. A bandaged Zanza is there to kick them out. Zanza then vows to follow Kenshin and that he is no longer Zanza, fighter for hire, but Sanosuke Sagara.

Rurouni Kenshin Episode 4: Bad! Introducing Sanosuke, Fighter-for-hire

Enter Sanosuke, a man searching for worthy opponents.

Back at the dojo, Kaoru and Yahiko are at it again as Kenshin decides to prepare lunch. Suddenly Kaoru rushes into her house and searches frantically. When she returns, she has an ink painting from her grandfather. She decides to sell it for money and the group goes out to celebrate with Beef Hot Pots for lunch.

As they eat, they overhear three men talking about the lord of domestic affairs, Ohkubo, who charged the great Saigou head on. Apparently Dr. Itagaki is supposed to fight Ohkubo, and the men are worried that if he dies, freedom will die with him. Dr. Gensai explains that right now, a single group controls all operations of the government, but there is a movement for more people to be more involved. The men then throw a plate at Kenshin. Yahiko demands that they apologize. When the waitress comes over to stop the commotion, one of the drunken men slaps her. Sanosuke enters and asks if this is democracy - making a ruckus and blaming it on being drunk. They ask if he’s trying to pick a fight, and he says he hates people that abuse the weak for their own gain. He then takes the fight outside.

Sanosuke encourages the man to attack. He does with a hidden dagger and ends up breaking his arm. Unimpressed, Sanosuke decides to fight with one fighter and sends the drunkard flying backward with one flick. When his two friends offer to step in, Kenshin warns them to pay their bill and go home. After the fight, Sanosuke finds Kenshin interesting and challenges him. Kenshin declines, but Sanosuke tells him that if he changes his mind, he’ll be in the Ruffian Row House. He then walks away.

Gohei, who is still looking for revenge after Kenshin crushed his hand, decides to pay Sanosuke to fight. He agrees so long as he enjoys the fight. The man then explains Kenshin’s past. Sanosuke gladly accepts and heads off to the Kamiya school with his Zanbatou, the largest sword ever made to slay the enemy - leader, horse, and all.

A bit on Sanosuke: Zanza, short for Zanbatou wielder Sanosuke, (Sanosuke Sagara), fighter for hire, will fight your opponent well until the underworld. His fee is based on how much fun he has during the fight. He’s an arrogant lone wolf, but strong. Many who fight him are plagued by dreams of the character “wicked” written on his back.

Sanosuke comes looking for Kenshin at the Kamiya house. Kenshin feels a presence and investigates. Sanosuke explains that he’s here to pick a fight. He’s been paid already, and his opponent is Battousai the Manslayer, user of the ancient style, Hiten Mitsurugi, so he’s looking forward to it. He wants a simple duel with no strings attached.

Sanosuke attacks Kenshin with his Zanbatou, but Kenshin easily out maneuvers him. Kenshin gets ready to draw his weapon, but Dr. Gensai’s granddaughters, Ayame and Suzume, call for Kenshin and walk towards him. Sanosuke decides the fight shouldn’t be witnessed by women and children and walks away. Before he walks away, he warns Kenshin that he never lets his prey rest.

Rurouni Kenshin Episode 3 Swordsman of Sorrow

The Kamiya school is now well on its way to reconstruction. Along with Kenshin, now Yahiko is an apprentice and an undisciplined one as well. Yahiko demands that Kenshin teach him his sword style but he is reminded that Kaoru is now his teacher.

Yahiko dreams up a story about Kenshin’s past and believes he must have been a gangster. Maybe he killed someone he wasn’t supposed to, or maybe he knows too much. Why is he wandering anyway?

Suddenly the police show up looking for Kenshin Himura, the Battousai. They are convinced that he must be here. Kaoru demands to know what this is about, but they warn her not to interfere or she will be sentenced to death with him. She yells to Yahiko to run and warn Kenshin before he is caught.

As Kenshin walks home, three police men warn him about breaking the sword rule in broad daylight. They make a scene when they catch a shoplifter. The store owner begs the police swordsman not to get involved in the small matters of the town, but the government swordsman exert their authority and take the criminal, the owner, and his granddaughter away. Yahiko can’t take it anymore and attacks to defend the people, but he is also captured and all are sentenced to death.

Kenshin comes to the rescue and repents for the captured criminals. They taunt him and the head swordsman whips out his sword and threatens Kenshin. He commands Kenshin to draw his sword. When Kenshin refuses, the head swordsman commands his men to slay those in the crowd. This pisses Kenshin off and he draws his sword. Soon, no one is left standing and Kenshin is ready to face the head officer. He offers a deal, but the policeman isn’t ready to accept it and attacks with the Jigen Style, which is said to never need a second strike. Kenshin’s Hiten Mitsurugi Style is far superior, though, and Kenshin emerges the winner.

The crowd is thrilled to pieces that Kenshin was able to defeat all those men without killing a single one. The cops from Kaoru’s place finally catch up and arrest them, but they are greeted by his Excellency, Aritomo Yamagata, Lord of the Imperial Meiji Army, and the politician who stands at the top of Japan. He pardons them. Yamagata has been searching for Kenshin, the hero who saved the lives of many Imperialists with his sword, for the last 10 years. He asks Kenshin to lend his powers to the Meiji government.

Kenshin declines the offer, wishing not to be given a key position as a reward for manslaughter. His disappearance was a vow to never kill again. Kenshin explains that he fought for a world where people could live in happiness, not for power or glory. He’s happy to protect the people he sees walking by. He doesn’t need a powerful position to protect people.

Rurouni Kenshin Episode 2 Kid Samurai A Big Ordeal and a New Student

Kenshin starts his day with wash, playing with Dr. Gensai’s grandchildren. It’s a relatively peaceful day. Kaoru is disappointed that none of her students are coming back. They decide to go into town to get lunch.

In town, Kenshin notices a boy steal the wallet of a grandfather and then give it back when his grandson is overjoyed that he will buy him something. Later, the boy tries to steal Kenshin’s wallet. Kaoru stops him and reprimands him, but Kenshin hands him the wallet and tells him not to get caught. Angrily, the boy throws the wallet back to Kenshin screaming that he’s Yahiko Myojin of a family of Tokyo samurai and not to treat him like a kid. He doesn’t want pity. Kenshin reacts with kindness, telling Kaoru that if the world hadn’t changed, he would have been a fine samurai.

Yahiko sits by himself by a river. Several men come up to him asking him for their day’s wages. They start beating him.

At the restaurant, Kenshin and Kaoru learn that Yahiko’s parents passed away when he was very young and he was adopted by the leader of the Shuei yakuza. The leader paid for Yahiko’s mother’s medical bills, creating a debt that Yahiko would eventually have to pay back. Now Yahiko is forced to pit pocket to pay back the debt. Kaoru angrily decides that she will not let that stand and goes to Kanto Shuei to find Yahiko. She makes a deal with them over dice - if she wins, Yahiko will be free, but if she loses, she’ll become a slave for the Shuei syndicate until she dies. She calls “han” (odd) and the dice roll to 11 - she wins to the amazement of everyone else who have just been examining their weighted dice that always snake eyes. They realize Yahiko switched the dice and attack him. They then reveal that the debt he has to repay was never a debt - they lied to keep him there.

Suddenly everyone attacks, but Kaoru handles herself pretty well for a little while. Unfortunately for her, Gasuke the Manslayer, challenges her and pulls out a blade from his staff. They knock the wall down into the boss’s room where he’s eating. He asks for Yahiko, questioning him about his future goals. The boss commands that someone lit Yahiko know who owns him. Kenshin arrives in time to settle the matter, sending Gasuke the Manslayer into the ceiling in the process of his negotiations with the Boss. They take Yahiko and leave.

Comments: There's not much fighting in the beggining of the series but the fights become a lot more intense later on in the series.

Rurouni Kenshin Episode 1 The Handsome Swordsman of Legend

140 years ago during the Tokugawa regime, there was an Imperialist in Kyoto nicknamed “Battousai the Manslayer.” He killed and created a way into the new Meiji era. Battousai was the strongest. But when the chaos came to an end, he disappeared and became legend.

In the 11th year of Meija (1979) in Tokyo, a girl accuses a red-haired man of being Battousai the Manslayer. She strikes him, accusing him of slaying three people last night. He assures her that he is merely a wondering swordsman, incapable of slaying people. Wanting proof, she pulls out his sword to find the blade on the wrong side.

A whistle blows and several guards are up against a strong opponent. The girl attacks him, but he cuts her wooden sword away. Just as the man who claims to be Battousai the Manslayer of the Kamiya Katsuhin Style is about to strike her, the red-haired girl saves her. Battousai runs away and the girl passes out.

The girl awakens in her own place bandaged up. She, Kaoru, runs a Kendo school of the Kamiya Kasshin Style. Kenshin is outside cooking miso soup with Dr. Gensai’s two granddaughters, who have taken a liking to Kenshin. He offers Kaoru breakfast. She then offers him a place to stay until he leaves town.

The Kamiya Kasshin Style was founded by Kaoru’s father. Their ideal is not to hurt people, but to bring out their potential. Unfortunately, Battousai also claims to be of her father’s style, and because of that, her students have decided to quit studying with her. She vows to be strong and defeat him to protect her father’s honor.

The man posing as Battousai is named Gohei, and he seeks revenge on Kaoru for his paralyzed thumb. When Kaoru was a small girl, she witnessed one of her father’s students, Hiruma, strike down a man. Hiruma speaks out against Kamiya. He attacks Kamiya, who counters, crushing Hiruma’s right thumb so he would never be able to hold a sword again. On that day, Hiruma was expelled, and on that day, Hiruma vowed revenge.

Gohei decides it is time to destroy the school and goes after Kaoru. Gohei’s men surround the dojo, and just as Gohei is about to strike down Kaoru, Kenshin steps in and defeats all of Gohei’s men. He then clarifies that the swordsmanship of Battousai the Manslayer is Hiten Mitsurugi Style, an ultrasonic killer style that is sure to slay anyone. Gohei challenges Kenshin, but Kenshin defeats him easily, explaining that while he has no attachments to the name Battousai, he won’t give it away so easily.

After the fight, Kenshin apologizes to Kaoru and bids her farewell. She requests that he, the wanderer not Battousai, stay with her and help her rebuild her father’s style. Realizing what she had just said, she turns and quietly asks him that if he insists on going, to at least tell her his real name. He replies Himura, Himura Kenshin, and then agrees to stay.

Comments
: The first episode is not that serious. You would think he would be more violent but he is not. Kenshin shows he other side when he needs to.

FFVII Saves

Every time I beat it I always stop using the save and start a new record when ever I go back to play it. It's kinda strange.
