Samurai Deeper Kyo Episode 4: Crawling Nightmare

Kyo and Okuni continue their conversation from the previous episode. Okuni is trying to find the whereabouts of “that” man. Kyo asks if that means he’s still alive. Okuni doesn’t know.

Hoping that Kyoshiro will return, Yuya talks to Kyo. He explains that Kyoshiro is in a deep sleep and won’t be returning. The two apparently hate each other. According to Kyo, Kyoshiro isn’t as good-natured as he seems. He was the one that betrayed Kyo and sealed his body somewhere. He was the one who took Kyo’s name and killed 1000 men. Kyoshiro is the only man Kyo wants to kill.

Meanwhile, the shogun is planning a Gozen Jiai (an Imperial Match to fight in front of Tokegawa Ieyasu) at Edo to draw the best fighters from all over Japan. The prize is 10,000 Ryo. His ninja, Hanzuo speaks out against this, as it may draw those who wish to kill him. The shogun is not concerned. Hanzou takes precautionary measures anyway and assigns the Neguro-gumi to watch the area. He specifically instructs their leader, the Shadow Genzou, that if they learn of any misguided intentions, they are to report the person. They are not to act on their own. Once Hanzou leaves, the Shadow Genza instructs his assassins otherwise - to kill anyone that may want to kill his Highness.

People talk of the Gozen Jiai and their picks for the strongest warriors at various taverns. Yukimura meets Kyo at one of them and tests him by asking what it feels like to switch places with Kyoshiro. Kyo is ready to attack him, but Yukimura calms him down.

At Edo, Yukimura asks Yuya to take him to Kyo. She does, and Kyo isn’t happy about it. Yukimura asks of Kyo will enter the tournament. The winner not only will receive money, but also the secret treasure of the Tokugawa family. Yukimura only wants the treasure. Yukimura also offers to tell Kyo the location he seeks if he enters. Mahiru and another member of the Neguro watch the interaction, concerned because Yukimura should be imprisoned at Kishuu Kadoyama. If this really is the real Yukimura, certainly his intentions would be to kill Ieyasu-sama. Mahiru sends the Neguro with her back to report the situation to Genzou.

Later, Yuya sees Kyo staring at the stars. They talk briefly. Kyo notices a poisonous spider on Yuya and crushes it. Yuya thanks him for saving her, a gesture she didn’t think he’d make. Mahiru sees this and decides to use Yuya to her advantage.

Yuya goes to Kyo later that night and thanks him for saving her. Kyo sees through it and requests that the imposter show itself. Miharu appears and Kyo recognizes her. She is controlling Yuya via a large spider attached to Yuya’s back. The episode ends with Yuya firing her gun at Kyo

Samurai Deeper Kyo Episode 3: Red Mirage

Kyoshiro has a bad feeling about the village and tries to get Yuya to leave with him. She doesn’t want to go because they haven’t found the military money yet. Just outside the village, Black Scorpion of the Sansai Shuu challenges Demon Eyes Kyo. Yuya does some research and learns that the three Sansai Shuu are worth 500 Ryo and draws her gun. Black Scorpion knocks it from her hands with his poisonous needles. They start to go back to the village, but it is blocked by several of the disgruntled villagers, headed by a young girl named Mika, who aren’t happy with their quiet life. Kyoshiro dodges Black Scorpion and takes off through the forest.

Kyoshiro stops to rest and Black Scorpion, who reveals his true form as a Kenyou, attacks with his poisonous needles. Red Tiger, however, is watching from the trees above and jumps down to defend Kyoshiro. He takes out Black Scorpion and walks Kyoshiro, who is badly hurt, back to the village.

At the Sansai Shuu house, Kitou Genma describes how he renounced the name his father gave him, “Aruki Muratsuga”, because his father didn’t understand “that” man (mysterious reference to someone powerful that will show up later, I suppose) and his greatness and opposed “that” man. He vows to defeat Demon Eyes Kyo for “that” person.

When Kyoshiro and Red Tiger get back to the village, Mika’s father, who is extremely disappointed with his daughter for working with the Sansai Shuu, gives Yuya, Kyoshiro, and Red Tiger a place to rest. During the night, Mika and the Sansai Shuu come looking for them. White Crow pulls his sword on Mika’s father. Okuni appears and explains that both Sakuya-sama and Yuya are looking for the same man with the cross-shaped wound on his back. They both hold a grudge against the same person.

Demon Eyes Kyo emerges and prepares to fight White Crow. White Crow reveals his nature as a Bird-like Kenyou and uses his Ouka Magen Kairou (Corridor of Infinite Cherry Blossoms) attack, which creates a Cherry Blossom illusion field and numbs the five senses. Kyo breaks it, telling him there are three reasons why he’ll never beat him. The first is that White Crow attacks too light. The second is that there is nothing Kyo can’t cut through, and the third is that he is more handsome. He executes his The Dark Wind of God Murdering Sword technique and the illusion is dispelled. Kyo then performs the Akaki Maboroshi (Red Mirage) and White Crow dies.

Genma is not happy about this and attacks, but Okuni defeats him easily. Kyo recognizes her and calls her Fox. She tells him he looks just like he did before Kyoshiro defeated him, and that Kyoshiro is the stronger of the two

Samurai Deeper Kyo Episode 2: Wanted (Dead or Alive) Man

Yuyi is mystified that Kyoshiro could be Demon Eyes Kyo. The episode resumes with the battle between Demon Eyes Kyo and the snake demon. He tells his story. He was once a samurai named Jimon serving Akashi Zento-sama under the command of Terumasa Ikeda, a brave general and husband of Tokugawa Ieyasu’s daughter. During the Battle of Sekigahora, he killed 200 warriors, but there was one greater than him. One whom he could not stand against. He looked into Demon Eyes Kyo ‘s red eyes and knew fear. Then the meteor hit, and when Jimon awoke, he had his snake body. These monsters from Sekigahora are called Kenyou.

During the battle, Jimon uses his rotating tail as a shield, but he is no match for Kyo and his Muramasa. Using the Mumyou Jinpuu Ryuu Satsujin Ken (The Dark Wind of God Murdering Sword technique), he defeated the snake creature.

Yukimura and Sasuke leave as soon as the battle is over, leaving Yuya to fend for herself against Kyo. Kyo tells her he was locked inside Kyoshiro’s body for a long time. She has short-lived visions of the 1,000,000 Ryo reward money, but Kyo quickly makes sure she knows her place. Yuya tells him that she won’t die at his hand. She won’t die until she finds the man with the cross-shaped wound on his back. Amused, Kyo lets her live. There is an inner struggle, and Kyoshiro gains control of the body. He is happy that Kyo didn’t harm Yuya.

They begin their travels during the night. Yuya thinks she knows a shortcut to a nearby village. They come to one, and Yuya admits she thinks they’re lost. Suddenly, a woman jumps on Kyoshiro. She asks if he’s really forgotten her, the priestess Okuni of Izumo? He admits he doesn’t. She explains that when the Western Army lost the Battle of Sekigahora, the warriors of Ishida Mitsunari fled from the rule of Tokugama Shogunate. They are hiding throughout the land. Because she loved Kyoshiro so much, she betrayed God. She roamed the country in recent years and found her way to a village populated by these hidden warriors. Okuni learned they harbor military money, and she was almost killed for it. Okuni also knows that Kyoshiro is Demon Eyes Kyo, a man who exists solely to destroy humans.

Terrified of wolves closing in on them, Kyoshiro and Yuya take off running towards the village, hoping that will be a safe spot to rest. They lose Okuni in the process. The villagers they find have laid down their swords for a quieter life. Later that day, Kyoshiro notices a strange man with light hair watching them. He disappears when Kyoshiro sees him.

The man with light hair is White Crow. He is a member of the Sansai Shuu, a group of three assassins who work for Kitou Genma. Black Scorpion and Red Tiger are the other members. Okuni also seems to be working with them

Samurai Deeper Kyo Episode 1: The Whereabouts of Armageddon

During the Battle of Sekigahora, a samurai with red eyes appeared. They say he was a demon. His opponent was Misu Kyoshiro. The battle took place under the powers of Sakuya-sama. Kyoshiro powers up and he and Demon Eyes Kyo fight. Sanada Yukimura introduces himself as one who was sent by Sakuya. He asks Kyoshiro if he can hold Kyo longer. Yukimura then asks Saizou to create more mist so that the two fighting won’t be seen.

In the Tokugama leyasu stronghold, the commander is worried and asks if they’ve lost. Both the second and third lines have been defeated. As Sakuya and Yukimura work, a large meteor heads towards the earth. Everyone runs for cover, but Kyoshiro stops and waits. Once the meteor has landed, the commander of the Tokugawa legasu calls to attack now.

Four years later on Nikko Road, Kyoshiro sits by a Wanted sign. The sign is looking for Demon Eyes Kyo, a man with red eyes and a 1.5 meter sword. He is wanted for killing 1000 people and the reward is 1,000,000 Ryos.

Nearby, a woman is lying on the road crying. Now a wandering druggist, Misu Kyoshiro takes her to shelter and nurses her wounds. The woman, Shiina Yuya, pulls out her gun and announces that she is a bounty hunter. He is wanted for eating at Hatago in Kiso and running off without paying. She ties him up for the night. They will set out for the police station tomorrow morning.

A creepy man with a snake tongue comes up behind Yuya. She shoots, but he is able to catch the bullets with his tongue. He changes into a demon. Kyoshiro attacks very ineffectively as the creature taunts him – telling him he’s come a long way to eat him. Kyoshiro gets beat pretty badly in the fight.

Yukimura and Sasuke are hiding in the forest watching this. Sasuke tries to stop the fight, but Yukimura tells him to hold off. He wants to see what will happen. Suddenly, Kyoshiro opens his eyes. They’re blood red. Yukimura throws him his Muramasa, the sword he left behind at Sekigahora four years ago. Demon Eyes Kyo has returned.

Naruto Episode 122: Shikamaru The Man Who Bets on the Revival of the Dead

Shikamaru dodges Tayuya's baddies until he finds himself cornered. There he realizes just how complex her musical composition is - she's been playing three separate melodies, one for each bully she controls. Just to be sure, he decides to test this. Meanwhile, Kimimaru continues to defend against Naruto's clone attacks.

The Haunts of Wicked Men (Song 8) fills the air and the baddies charge Shikamaru once more, releasing serpent chakra ghosts from their mouths. Shikamaru dodges, using an explosion attack to disappear. From his hiding place, he realizes the ethereal beings feed on chakra. The only way to stop them will be to stop the music. Using Kage Mane no Jutsu would be too difficult since they move at random. He takes a quick inventory of his supplies - 12 kunai, 9 shuriken, 12 meters of wire, one flash bomb and one exploding tag left. Sensing the odds are against him, he sits down to think.

Kiba travel downstream hoping to escape Sakon. Akamaru still lies motionless in his arms. As Naruto and Kimimaru continue to fight, Sasuke's barrel lets out a gush of steam.

Master plan in place, Shikamaru charges Tayuya, preparing to capture her in nine attacks. He charges, throwing a kunai with an explosion tag at a nearby tree. He tosses another kunai with a flash bomb and a plain kunai at one of the baddies. Another kunai and a baddie is after Shikamaru. Kunai 5-8 all hit their mark. Finally, the ninth kunai meets its target with a flame bomb to extend his shadow. Shadow bind extends and catches Tayuya. Checkmate.

Surprised, Tayuya asks how he managed to figure out the melody. He replies that it wasn't the music, but her finger patterns. Now, he has mastery over the flute and uses Tayuya's own baddies against her. She quickly dismisses them to face Shikamaru one on one.

Not wasting time, Tayuya goes level 2 curse and tries to use brute force to break out of Shadow bind. Shikamaru uses Kage Kubi Shibari no Jutsu (Shadow Strangulation Technique) and his shadow grabs her. She fights back, putting the flute to her mouth and using Magic Flute, Infinite Tuning Fork. Suddenly, Shikamaru is caught in genjutsu. His shadow strangulation lets go and his body is frozen. Inside the genjutsu, Shikamaru is hanging by wires as his arms melt before him. Tayuya reaches for her kunai and moves closer to stab him. Suddenly, Shikamaru snaps out of the illusion by breaking his own finger and uses Shadow Bind. She's caught.

Naruto Episode 121: Everyone's Fight

With Ukon now inside him, Kiba decides the only way out is seppuku. To Ukon's amazement, Kiba takes his kunai and stabs his right side. Now writhing in pain with Kiba, Ukon declares that in all his time, there hasn't been a single person who was brave enough to stab himself, and separates himself from Kiba's body. As he falls backwards to the ground, Kiba throws two smoke bombs and hides. When Ukon looks up, all he sees is Akamaru's unconscious body a few yards away. It's a trap - the dog explodes and several kunai fly through the air and hit him.

Kiba cuddles Akamaru, who lies unconscious in his arms, and sighs in relief that his faithful friend is still breathing. Glancing down at his side, he realizes he is gushing blood. But at least they were able to slow down their enemy. He tells Akamaru that he did well and flashes back to the first day they were together. The first thing Akamaru did when mom and big sis presented him to Kiba was take a piss. He flashes back to training with his mother, building both their strength and stamina. Together, he and Akamaru became stronger. Flash to the two camping by an open fire. Kiba vows that from now on, they'll be together. He'll protect the puppy.

Ukon isn't ready to give up and calls out for his brother. Where are you, Sakon? He finds Sakon down by the river and the two merge. Ukon must sleep. It's up to Sakon to capture Kiba.

Meanwhile, Kimimaru is still taking out Naruto clones left and right. He uses Yangi no mai! (Dance of the Willow) to speed through the Naruto cluster with bones in each hand. Using his bloodline technique, he extends a bone from his shoulder and pulls it through his skin. As Sasuke's pickle jar starts smoking, Kimimaru forms a sword with this bone, now compressed to its maximum density and hard as stead, and uses Tsubaki no mai! (Dance of the Camellia). Elsewhere, Shikamaru is still dodging Tayuya's heavy blows.

Kiba staggers behind tree, noticing the trail of blood behind him. He sniffs the air to smell Sakon coming closer. What to do? Weak from blood loss and pain, he leaves his jacket behind and jumps in the nearby river.

Tayuya's bullies corner Shikamaru while he studies their master. If he can analyze the musical pattern she plays, he'll be able to predict the attacks. Too late - she begins the 9th and final verse of her song, Haunt of Pandemonium. (Makyou no ran)

Naruto Episode 120: Roar! Howl! The Ultimate Tag

Kiba attacks Sakon but is knocked back. Akamaru's red now, so the two prepare a double attack. The puppy transforms into a Kiba clone and together they attack with Gatsuuga and then go toe to toe with Sakon and his other half, Ukon.

Faced with hundreds of Naruto clones, Kimimaru pulls a few bones from his body to use as weapons while Tayuya plays a melody of death to order her spirits to attack Shikamaru.

Kiba soon learns that usually Ukon sleeps within Sakon, but during battle, he emerges and can even attack by throwing his body. Still, Ukon isn't amused right now and suggests they go level 2 to end this battle quickly.

Meanwhile, the bones Kimimaru pulled from his body have transformed into spiked weapons and takes out several clones with a few swings. Shikamaru is having problems with Tayuya's bullies and realizes that he needs to stop her from playing fast.

Akamaru suggests that it's time to do -that- technique, while Kiba tries to rationalize. If they attempt it and miss, they're dead. Akamaru doesn't seem to care - and bites his master. Kiba realizes his companion is right and the two go Garouga (Double Wolf Fang). Akamaru jumps over Sakon, while Kiba gets hit and coughs up blood. Akamaru continues, using Dynamic Marking to pee all over the two. The two jump together to do Inuzaku Ryuu Chinjuu Combi Henge! (Inuzuka Style Beast Combination Transformation) to transform into a huge white wolf. Soutou rou! (Two Headed Wolf). The two headed wolf into a tight drill spin and soars after Sakon, slicing the two brothers apart.

Sakon and Ukon quickly re-grow their missing body parts head after Kiba. Sensing he only has one shot left, they try again, but this time, Sakon and Ukon use Kuchi Yose to summon an extremely large gate (a Rashomon - a Gate in Old Kyoto) to take the blow. The Kiba/Akamaru combo smacks it head on and falls to the ground.

Akamaru manages to pee in Sakon's eyes, leaving him to quickly go in search of water to rinse out his eyes. Meanwhile, Ukon has the odd ability to freely disassemble himself, enter an enemy's body, and reconstruct his cells so he becomes part of the enemy. Kiba soon finds himself the unlucky recipient of this attack, and Ukon threatens to tear him away from his own body cells.

With Ukon implanted into his side, Kiba spots Akamaru laying motionless in the distance. He flashes back to his fight with Naruto at the Chuunin exam and other memories of Akamaru. And then he does what he must - he takes a kunai and stabs himself in his side. They will die together.

Naruto Episode 119: A Mistake! A New Enemy

Orochimaru transfers his soul into his new vessel while Kimimaru heads out to retrieve Sasuke. Kiba immediately goes to help his faithful friend, but the three are caught in the explosion and thrown over a nearby cliff.

Meanwhile, Tayuya catches up with Naruto and Shikamaru. Shikamaru demands that Naruto take Sasuke and go while he stays to fight her. Suddenly, Kimimaru appears, re-capturing Sasuke almost effortlessly, and reprimands Tayuya for the delay. She asks why… and how he's here. He explains that he is no longer moving with his body, rather his spirit. He pets the barrel lovingly - this container holds Orochimaru's dream.

Naruto rushes Kimimaru but Tayuya smacks him back to Shikamaru's side. Kimimaru will leave the Konoha boys to her, while he returns Sasuke to his master.

Shikamaru gives Naruto a quick heads up before taunting Tayuya that it's 2 against 1. He and Naruto fake a double attack, but Naruto jumps over her and heads after Kimimaru, while Shikamaru goes for Shadow Bind.

Meanwhile, Orochimaru reminisces about Kimimaru. He was a perfect being, stained in darkness. And he idolized him. That was the soul Orochimaru truly desired. If only his body hadn't been infected with the disease.

As Naruto gets closer to Kimimaru, his fox features become enhanced, and soon, his eyes are glowing red and his fangs become prominent. When the two confront each other, Naruto demands to know why Orochimaru is after his friend. Like all good baddies, Kimimaru explains Orochimaru's true intentions - that his body isn't immortal, so he needs a new, stronger body every so often. Sasuke is to be his new vessel.

Back at the Tayuya/Shikamaru fight, Tayuya asks Shikamaru how many team members they're willing to lose to retrieve Sasuke. Shikamaru explains that he's in charge and his team is dedicated to retrieving their kidnapped teammate even if it costs them their lives. Besides, he believes in them and is certain that no one has died. Cut to Kiba, who is going head to head with Sakon.

Tayuya uses her Kuchiyose no Jutsu to summon 3 large spirits and controls them with her instrument while Naruto Kage Bunshins to surround Kimimaru.
