96 That Jaken Who Became Sick

Rin goes off to find some food in the forest, but she gets attacked by a giant demon hand. As Sesshomaru runs to her rescue and attacks the demon hand, he sees that it's made up of a swarm of Naraku's poisonous bees. Meanwhile, Inuyasha and the others plan to go visit Jinenji to get some of his medical herbs(and Kagome scolds Inuyasha for eating the food she was going to give Jinenji.) Back with Sesshomaru's group, Sesshomaru battles the bees while Jaken drives them away from Rin(he says to himself that he's protecting her because Sesshomaru would be mad if he didn't, but Rin thinks he really cares about her.) Sesshomaru manages to destroy the bees and their nest, but a few stray ones inject their stingers into Jaken's arm and fly away. Sesshomaru thinks that they're probably going back to Naraku, so he follows them. Meanwhile, Jaken winces as the stingers go into his arm and he feels the poison in him. He tells Rin that he's been very happy since he met her and Sesshomaru, and he'll continue to be loyal to Sesshomaru even after he dies. Rin cries that Jaken gave his life for her(he objects...he gave his life for Sesshomaru, didn't he?)and begs him not to leave her. Jaken tells her about Jinenji's herb that can cure any poison. So Rin goes off with Ah-Un(that two-headed dragon-like demon that accompanies Sesshomaru) to find it. Meanwhile, Inuyasha's group notices the few stray bees and follows them, hoping to find Naraku. But the bees soon drop dead(since they used their stingers), and when Sesshomaru arrives on the scene, he and Inuyasha fight once again. Meanwhile, Rin reaches Jinenji's house, but his mother tells her that Jinenji is a half-demon, and since he's in his human form at the moment, he doesn't want anyone seeing him(he's hiding under a quilt.) After much pleading, Rin finally convinces Jinenji to speak to her and tell her where the herb is(she reminded him of Kagome.)

While Rin flies off to the mountains on Ai-Un to find the herb, Kagome manages to stop Inuyasha and Sesshomaru from fighting by telling Sesshomaru where Naraku's whereabouts are(he's satisfied with that, and leaves.) While Ai-Un holds off attacking demons, Rin climbs up the steep mountain side towards the herb. As she trudges tiredly onward, she thinks about how her family is dead and how she doesn't want anyone else to die. Finally, she snatches the herb, only to have the ledge underneath her crumble away. As she falls toward the deep chasm, she cries out for Sesshomaru before fainting. Sesshomaru catches her in the nick of time. He then goes back to the forest and gives the herb to a very grateful Jaken. Meanwhile, Jinenji and his mother tell Inuyasha and the others about the strong-willed little girl that they met. Jinenji says that the girl gives warmth to others, just like Kagome, to which Inuyasha protests by saying that Kagome is actually very narrow-minded...and she promptly "sits" him for that remark :) Anyway, back with Sesshomaru's group, Rin wakes up and is overjoyed that Jaken is all right.

95 Those Who Create the Shikon no Tama (Part 2)

Kagome learns that Gyuoh is a hanyou. He decides to use Inuyasha and the others to create a new Shikone shard for the four representations of the Shikone. Using the fake jewels in his club, Gyuoh starts to pummel Inuyasha until the sun rises reverting him back to his human side and burning his body for the corrupted Shikone no Tamas.

94 Those Who Create the Shikon no Tama (Part 1)

while traveling the gang (sounds like scooby-doo huh ?) runs into a preist who is suspicously curious about the shikon no tama , and a little boy hiding from youkai whos village was captured by the youkai. looking for answers they all go to a mysterious cave . the youkai has what? is that a shikon no tama ????

93 The Mysterious Pervert Monk Who Comes and Goes

In this episode Hachi is introduced. He is a raccon-like animal or tanuki. He can tranform into people such as Miroku. He knows a lot about Miroku so he transformed into him and he did it because he couldn't resist it and was having too much fun. In the beginning, some of the villagers are thanking the fake Miroku. A while later the real Miroku appears at a village and all the villagers are angry at him except for the ladies. The villager girls have all fallen in love with Miroku and have even promised to bear his child! Miroku doesn't know why the villagers are upset or why the ladies love him but it's because Hachi had appeared at the village earlier. He was stiring up trouble such as performing fake ceremonies, handing out fake card-things that are suppose to keep the evil spirits away (he also sold them at an expensive prices), and stealing all the ladies from the village men. Anyway, the villigers tie up Miroku. Sango and Kagome aren't convinced that Miroku did or didn't do it so they just let them do what they want with him for the time being. They start thinking up reasons of why he would or wouldn't have done everything. Inuyasha is slient. The villagers want to throw him in the river but Kagome says that he couldn't of done it because he was with them the whole time. The villagers want proof and so does Inuyasha. The villagers all pull out a leaf. Miroku starts laughing evily and says that he knows who did it. He would show them if only they would untie him. Oh, poor Miroku... Meanwhile, the fake Miroku is at a different village where everyone loves and honors him. The villagers tell him that there is a shrine inside a cave where a tanuki has settled inside of and has been getting into the villagers livestock and rice paddies. Hachi goes in but he is scared. He can't use Kazaana even though he's transformed so he's pretty much fightless. He finds the creature and it's not a tanuki but a big weasel. The Weasel smells out Hachi's disguise and right before he eats him, Inuyasha and gang show up. Miroku uses his Kazaana and saves Hachi. Hachi says sorry and then tells Mirkou his secret to winning over the ladies.

92 The Ambition of the Resurrected

Kawaramaru, a resurrected warrior of Urasue, is using clay soldier armies to kill off villages. Enju, the clay maker of the soldiers, flees from Kawaramaru as she doesn't want to make soldiers who kill. She runs into Inuyasha who later kills off Kawaramaru and his entire clay soldier army with the Kaze no Kizu.

91 The Mysterious Spiritualist and the Black Kiara

Inuyasha calls Kagome's illness a "minor detail," pissing Kagome off and in order to prevent another fight, Miroku cuts in and returns the topic of discussion back to Naraku. Inuyasha gets all pepped up and tells everyone that they have to head northeast. The rest of the group is forced to follow. Then we go to a scene of angry villagers holding weapons. It turns out that they're pointing them at a two-tailed cat that looks like Kirara! A guy with a staff is telling the villagers that two-tailed cats bring misfortune and if they don't want to die they'll get rid of it. Then his eyes glow red and so do the eyes of all the other villagers. The villagers begin to throw rocks at the little cat. The cat dodges them easily and the man (with buckteeth might i add) laughs so the cat launches itself at his head and then runs away as the man yells at the cat never to return.

It's sunset and a little girl is calling the name "Kuroro" with no answer in return. Then Kirara is running and Shippo is chasing after her. Shippo loses sight of her. Instead of finding Kirara, he finds a river. He begins washing his face when he hears the little girl talking to Kirara, thinking she's Kuroro. She takes her into her arms and begins petting her, and Kirara definitely does not object.

Shippo comes up to the girl and tells her that that is not actually Kuroro but Kirara, however the girl has either not heard him or is completely ignoring him. The girl then puts a bell around Kirara's neck. Shippo yells at the girl but she still doesn't pay attention to him because she sees the villagers coming. She tells Kirara to run away and puts her down on the ground, and then runs away herself. Kirara begins growling at the villagers.

The villagers begin coming with their farm implements thinking that Kirara is Kuroro. Kirara keeps growling and the villagers begin throwing rocks. That's when Shippo stands in front of Kirara with outspread arms to protect her. The villagers throw rocks at Shippo.

Inuyasha and Company show up. The villagers begin freaking out. "They're friends of that cat monster!" they say. Inuyasha thinks they are reffering to him and begins getting angry when Miroku steps in and tells him to calm down. He tries to talk the villagers down but only gets rocks thrown at him, upsetting him greatly. Kagome and Sango step in and tell Miroku to calm down.

A sane villager comes and calms everyone down. He also seems to be the first villager to notice that Kirara isn't Kuroro. The sane villager begins to apologize to Inuyasha and Company for the other villagers, and Inuyasha forgives them.

The sane villager has invited Inuyasha and Company to his home for dinner, where he tells the story of Kuroro. Kuroro was like their village cat and then the spiritualist came. You know the story from there.

Kagome and Inuyasha decide that the spiritualist sounded suspicious. Miroku says that they should talk to him and Inuyasha agrees.

Shippo takes the bell that the little girl put around Kirara's neck and without saying a word he begins to leave. He wanders down and path and then he hears the girl's voice calling for Kuroro again. Shippo runs over to her. He gives her the bell back and introduces himself. Then he offers to help her look for Kuroro. She agrees and tells him that her name is Koume.

We see the spiritualist in his hut, house, temple, whatever it is, chanting. Suddenly his eyes glow red and the flame on the candles gets larger. His shadow grows and exits the building through the windows and rises up.

Inuyasha and Company are walking down the path when they see a shadow rising up. Miroku tells them that it is a cloud of demonic energy and Sango makes a reference to the spiritualist. Kagome reminds them that the sane villager said that the spiritualist was staying at the temple on the outskirts of the village, so Inuyasha and Company head out.

Koume and Shippo are still looking for Kuroro. Koume tells him that Kuroro was going to have kittens. He suggests that they go further out when suddenly he feels an evil presence. They look around and see nothing when suddenly the cloud that Inuyasha and Company saw appears and zaps itself down in front of them. It begins to glow and then a swarm of rats come at them. Shippo tries to protect Koume with his fox illusion magic. He then has Koume get on his back as the rats break through his magic.

A monk is walking by the temple when he notices that the door is open. He looks inside to see... RATS! When they notice the monk, they look at him and their eyes glow red.

We see the mysterious spiritualist laughing at the "Foolish villagers!" He compliments himself on getting rid of the cat (Kuroro) and goes on to say that "with her out of the way, I shall consume everything in my path!" We see his reflection in the mirror. HE HAS TURNED INTO A RAT!

The rats are still after Shippo and Koume. They begin to gain on him and bite him as he begins to lose strength. Suddenly, Kuroro shows up. Kuroro glows red for a second (not just her eyes but her whole body) and then she begins attacking the rats.

Inuyasha and Company have arrived at the temple, but there's a barrier of demonic energy around it. Inuyasha cuts the barrier with the red Tetsusaiga but then the temple collapses and the spiritualist in rat form emerges. He criticizes Inuyasha for being a hanyou and says that he is the "great lord Tesso" Then little Kirara transforms into big scary Kirara and the big rat demon thing gets scared. Inuyasha uses the Kaze no Kizu on Tesso and breaks him into a lot of little bitty pieces but Tesso regenerates and laughs. Inuyasha tries to attack again but Miroku stops him. He states that that is not the demon's true form and that it's just an illusion formed from the rat's demonic aura. Miroku opens his air void but as soon as he does, Tesso disintegrates into a cloud of demon energy and disappears.

Kuroro is leading Shippo and Koume somewhere. It turns out to be the cave where her kittens are hidden.

A cloud of demon energy appears and states (yes, the cloud talks) that it smells the blood of a human child. If it eats a child then its powers will double.

Shippo feels that a demon is coming and Kuroro gets all "grrr" like. She runs out of the cave and Koume begins to follow but Shippo stops her. He says that they have to protect Kuroro's kittens.

The evil cloud lands in front of the cave and turns back into Tesso. Tesso and Kuroro begin to fight. Kuroro scratches Tesso's face with her claws (this is actually important). Tesso fires a kind of laser thing out of his mouth and tries to kill Kuroro with it. She dodges it but it causes the rocks outside the cave to fall in front of the entrance of the cave, blocking it off.

Shippo protected Koume from the rockfall. He tests the air for a draft and goes to the spot where he feels the air coming from and begins to dig.

Inuyasha and Company wonder what happened to Tesso. Inuyasha says that they probably chases him away but Miroku says that he spent too much time chasing Kuroro out of the village to be scared away that easy. Suddenly they hear the villagers yell that Kuroro came back and look in the direction that the villagers are running to. The villagers lead them to a clearing and Kuroro comes out, battle scarred, and then leads them to the cave.

Shippo is still digging but Koume is beginning to run out of air. Finally Shippo digs his way out, only to find Tesso at the entrance, waiting for him. Shippo begins to fight Tesso but notices that the cut Kuroro made on his face earlier is gone. Then Inuyasha arrives. Tesso reminds Inuyasha that he can't hurt him with his sword, then he begins to glow red and his tail is regenerated. The rest of Inuyasha's Company come running in and Shippo yells that that's not the real Tesso because the cut Kuroro made earlier was gone. Miroku seems to realize what's going on and so he takes out his sacred scrolls. He puts some kind of spell on it and throws it. It lands on a rock and the rock transforms into a cloud of evil demon stuff. Inuyasha uses the Kaze no Kizu on the rock and destroys Tesso's real body.

After Tesso's defeat, Kuroro collapses. Koume runs over to her with her kittens and thanks her.

Inuyasha and Company leave to the sounds of "you saved us all."

Meanwhile in a hut a little ways from the center of the village, Kuroro's three kittens are playing. Koume comes in to announce that it's time to eat. Then Kuroro walks in with two bandaged legs and a bell around her neck. She feeds the kittens and cleans them And Koume announces that "we'll be together forever, right Kuroro?"

Inuyasha and Company commend Shippo for working so hard. Shippo's reply: "Well, I'm a man -- I have to protect girls!" Miroku agrees and says that "it is best to do so with the purest of intentions." And of course that starts the sarcasm from Sango, but Miroku doesn't seem to get it. Inuyasha comes in saying that Shippo just had the hots for Koume. Shippo denies...Inuyasha insists...it's hilarious. Shippo goes to Kagome with an "Inuyasha is picking on me!"

Kagome: Inuyasha...Sit Inuyasha: What the hell was that for? Shippo: It's such a nice day!

90 Souta's Brave Confession

Kagome is still in her own time. She wakes up feeling great and happy that she survived the test. She thanks Inuyasha for his help and Inuyasha blushes fiercely and then tells her that they should go back to his time now. Instead, Kagome asks him if he wants to go shopping. Wearing a hat, Kagome and Inuyasha go shopping. He's whining about her dragging him out shopping and she tells him that they're going to have to prepare well for the long journey. Kagome gets lost in thought thinking about how it's almost like a date. She blushes and turns to look at Inuyasha only to see that...he's NOT THERE!!! She frantically looks around for him and sees him with his nose pressed against the display window of a grocery store.

They go into a store and Kagome asks Inuyasha what they should buy first. The reply? "Ninja food!" Inuyasha is amazed when he walks into the store. Kagome pulls Inuyahsa towards the ramen. She's pulling him by the hand and that makes him blush. They arrive at the giant ramen display and Inuyasha is very VERY excited. He can't decide which one he wants.

They leave the store with three huge boxes of ramen and several bags of groceries. Suddenly, Kagome stops walking and Inuyasha, not being able to see because of the boxes of ramen, runs into her. She looks across the street and sees Souta at a flower shop. She grabs Inuyasha and pulls him between two buildings. They're now spying on Souta. Souta is still staring at the flowers. The lady that works there comes out and talks to him but when he says nothing she leaves. He's staring at a really pretty pink flower, but can't afford them. Suddenly he looks to the side and dives behind the flower stand. Three girls are coming towards him, talking and laughing. He blushes when he sees a girl wearing a pink dress. Inuyasha and Kagome now know what's going on.

Inuyasha, Kagome, Souta, Kagome's mom, and Kagome's grandfather are sitting at the dinner table, eating. Souta sighs and his mom wonders what's wrong. His grandfather gives him some lame face remedy. Apparently it's some sort of mermaid scale he's supposed to put on his stomach overnight. Souta takes it and gives it to Buyo, the cat. Grandfather chases after Buyo as Souta excuses himself from the table. Kagome tells them that souta's just lovesick.

Inuyasha is walking up the stairs, stretching, when he sees Souta waiting for him at the top of the stairs. He wants to talk to him about something. "A serious man-to-man talk" Inuyasha looks only slightly confused and terrified.

Souta and Inuyasha are sitting outside as the clouds roll over the moon. They aren't talking. Inuyasha decides that if Souta doesn't have anything to say then he's going to leave. Souta asks him to stay so Inuyasha tells him to hurry up. Souta asks him what it's like to "like" someone. "Is love eternal?" Inuyasha turns red and looks severely terrified at this point. He asks Souta why he's saying these things all of a sudden. Souta asks Inuyasha if he or Kagome told the other they liked them first. (I hope that sentence makes sense). Inuyasha is speechless, and his eyes are wide. Inuyasha sits down. "Well, aren't you two going out?" Souta asks. Inuyasha lets out a noise that sounds a lot like a squawking parrot. Souta says a bunch of stuff that makes Inuyasha m ore speechless and finally asks how he confessed to Kagome. When Inuyasha tells Souta that he wouldn't say such things to Kagome, Souta asks him how Kagome confessed to him. Inuyasha's expression is amazing. Then Souta says that they haven't confessed to each other yet. "Wh...wh...wh...wh..." Inuyasha replies. "y...y...y...y..." Soura gets all sad and serious and starts telling Inuyasha about Hitomi-chan, a girl he happens to like, as Inuyasha begins to develop a nervous twitch in his left eye. When Inuyasha points out to Souta that he's fallen for her, Souta blushes. He doesn't know how Hitomi geels about him so he wants to confess his feeling for her. Inuyasha's nervous eye-twitch has returned. Souta then asks Inuyasha if he can practice with him. Add a nervous lip twitch to the eye twitch. Twitch twitch twitch...then..."Just once"

Inuyasha and Souta are standing up, facing each other. Silence. Inuyasha looks indifferent and Souta looks scared. Then Inuyasha breaks the silence and tells Souta to hurry up but Souta says that he's not ready yet. Inuyasha starts to go back but Souta grabs his sleeve.

They're standing across from each other again. "I...I...I...I...I like you!" Souta yells out, blushing furiously. "Wh...what are you doing?" Kagome's voice sounds from the doorway. She's leaning against the doorframe, left eye and right hand twitching. Inuyasha looks horrified, his right eye twitching. Souta also looks horrified, although no twitching.

Everyone is in Kagome's room. Inuyasha and Souta sitting on the floor while Kagome is sitting on the bed, holding her stomach and laughing hysterically. She tells Souta that he should have come to her from the start instead of going to Inuyasha since she's more well-versed in the female psyche. Kagome gets all fired up (quite literally, there's fire in the background) and says that she will help her little brother. Inuyasha and Souta look a little confused.

We see Souta in a cute little blue suit and red bowtie. Kagome then hands him a bouquet (spelling?) of flowers and tells him what to do. He's unsure but she urges him on. As Souta leaves, she yells out Banzai and Inuyasha pops a party popper of confetti (I don't know what it's called) then both he and Kagome yell out "Banzai!" with arms over their heads.

At school, Kagome is telling her friends about the confession. They seem to think that it's Houjou who has confessed to her. She tells them that it's her little brother Souta.

Inuyasha and Kagome are at home, waiting for Souta to come home. Inuyasha is eating (as usual) and Kagome is worrying, wondering whether or not Souta got rejected because he's late coming home. The door opens and Souta's sad voice announces "I'm home" *commercials*

Souta is standing in the doorway, really sad. With wide eyes and a twitching right hand, Kagome comes to the conclusion that he must have gotten rejected. Souta walks past her and she goes after him, trying to cheer him up. Inuyasha tells him that there are plenty of other girls out there and Kagome gets mad at him for being insensitive. Souta tells them that he wasn't necessarily rejected but that he couldn't bring himself to say it. He called Hitomi after class and tried to tell her but he couldn't and then Hitomi told him that she doesn't like guys who aren't manly enough to say things outright.

Souta sits at the table with Kagome and Inuyasha, crying out, "I'm a loser!" Inuyasha tells him not to cry and says that he just needs to change. He then tells him that he's going to make him stronger right now.

"Sankontetsusou!" Inuyasha destroys a tree. Both of Kagome's eyes and her mouth are twitching as Inuyasha tells Souta to try. Souta claws his hand and weakly says, "Sankontetsusou" as he slashes the air in front of him, unsurely. Inuyasha tells him to keep doing that as Kagome asks him where he's going with the whole thing. He tells her that it's about fighting spirit and as long as Souta feels up to it he'll be able to do it. Kagome and Inuyasha talk Souta up and tell him that he looks almost completely different from the Souta before.

"Banzai! Banzai! Banzai!" the whole Higurashi family plus Inuyasha yell as Souta goes to try again.

Inuyasha complains that helping Souta is much more of a pain than fighting youkai. They are, ironically, talking about how Souta's being wishy washy and how if he likes her he should just come out and say it. Souta opens the door, looking sad. He got scared and came home. He says that there's no way for him to change overnight. Inuyasha gets pissed. He tells Souta to stop being so wishy washy and then makes him leave, saying that he can't come back home until he tells Hitomi how he feels. "Be brave and get it done like a man!" Souta runs off to tell Hitomi.

Kagome decides to follow him and then drags Inuyasha.

It's sunset at the park. Hitomi and Souta are standing across from each other as Inuyasha and Kagome are hiding in the bushes. Souta begins to talk to Hitomi. Inuyasha's words ring in his hea.d "Hitomi-chan. I may not be strong, reliable, or able to say thing outright, but, but...I like you, Hitomi-chan!" At this point they're both blushing. "I want you to go out with me!" Hitomi blushes more and then agrees. They hug. It's so CUTE!!!!! KAWAIIIIIIII!!! Inuyasha and Kagome blush. Kagome: "They're only 3rd graders..." Inuyasha: "Pretty mature aren't they." They look at each other, wide eyes and faces reddening. And then they suddenly look awat from each other.

Three big bags of groceries are by the well. Inuyasha and Kagome say "Bye" to Souta and turn to leave. Then Souta thanks Inuyasha and Kagome and Inuyasha go down the well.

89 The Visitation-Confrontation Between "That Guy" and "Him"!

Everyone is in what looks like Kaede's hut, sitting around, as Inuyasha is getting upset. They were supposed to go northeast after Naraku, but, Kagome's gotten sick. Kagome apologizes but Sango defends her, telling Inuyasha that Kagome didn't want to get sick. Kagome apologizes again. Sango tells her that while she's sick, they'll prepare for the long journey ahead. Kagome apologizes for a third time and Inuyasha leaves. It turns out that Kaede isn't there to help Kagome get better. Sango puts a hand to Kagome's forehead and says that she has a bad fever. Miroku suggests that Kagome goes home to get better, since she has better medicine in her time. Miroku kneels down so that Kagome can climb on his back, but his hands are ready for her...erm...backside. Kagome's grandfather calls the school and tells them that Kagome's not coming because she has a cold.

At school, the teacher tells the class that Kagome is home because she's sick. Her friends are surprised that all she has is a cold.

Kagome has a temperature of 38.5°C (101.3°F). Her mom goes to make her some warm drinks.

Her mother and grandfather talk shortly about Kagome's cold and the Sengoku Jidai.

Kagome's friends decide that since she just has a common cold then they should go visit her. Houjou overhears that they're going to go visit Kagome. They tell him that Kagome's come down with a cold and Houjou looks very thoughtful. He walks away without saying anything else, deep in thought.

A giant explosion in the forest. There's a bunch of villagers holding spears. Kaede is with them, holding a bow. It's a giant ... I don't even know what to call it... centipede-spider-scorpion-ugly thing. They fire arrows but nothing happens. Inuyasha arrives, and punches the demon several hundred feet cause it's "in his way" Kaede is surprised to see him and he's surprised to see them. Kaede tells him that recently there have been a lot of youkai around, terrorizing villages. Inuyasha tells her that it's because Naraku has disappeared. The demon is beginning to come to. Inuyasha kills it easily with his claws and then leaves. Kaede calls after him but he ignores her.

At a swamp, another demon attacks Inuyasha and Inuyasha tells it to "buzz off" because it's in his way. The demon threatens Inuyasha telling him that the swamp is now his territory but Inuyasha has matters to deal with in this swamp. It attacks Inuyasha but Inuyasha punches it in the head, then grabs its tail (it's a giant snake demon with three eyes) and spins it around and around, finally letting go so that the demon flies far far away. It's funny looking. Inuyasha goes into the swamp and catches a bunch of fish. He goes to a gorge, defeats the demon there, goes to a waterfall, defeats the demons there, goes somewhere else and defeats the demon there as well.

Kaede and the villagers are wondering where the demons went and then head home.

Kagome's friends arrive at the shrine where Kagome lives. They give Kagome flowers and then they ask her whether he came to visit her. "He?" They are referring to her "indecent" boyfriend (Inuyasha). From downstairs, Kagome's mom calls to her that someone named "Houjou" is there to see her.

Kagome goes downstairs and meets Houjou at the door. He's holding a basket behind his back. He talks to her a little bit and then brings the basket to the front. From what I can see it's filled with different fruits like bananas, pineapples, melons, pomegranates, and some other stuff I can't make out. Kagome takes the basket and out of his pocket Houjou takes some charms for good health and gives them to her. Then he hands her a dumbbell so she could work out a bit. He puts his hand in his other pocket to take out some more stuff so Kagome's mom invites him in.

Sango, Miroku, and Shippo are sitting in Kaede's hut when Inuyasha comes in with a giant (and I mean GIANT) basket full of stuff on his back. He asks where Kagome is and Shippo tells him that she went back home so she could get better. Inuyasha seems pissed. Suddenly Kagome appears next to him and asks him where he went. But, Kagome seems to have grown a tail. A tail that looks suspiciously like Shippo's tail. Shippo gets hit in the head. Inuyasha drops the giant basket of stuff on him and leaves.

Kagome's grandpa is looking for something as Souta plays soccer outside. Grandpa finds the weird thing he was looking for. Another something that has been passed down for generations that can heal all ilnesses. Right. Souta kicks the ball, and it hits his grandpa in the back of the head causing him to drop the jar of ... whatever that was...it looked like a turnip in orange water...whatever... Souta runs away. As Souta continues to play soccer, a black blur goes across the courtyard (?) Souta kicks the ball and Inuyasha catches it. Inuyasha asks about Kagome and Souta tells him that she's seeing some people that came to visit her.

Kagome's friends are telling her some stories from school. Kagome seems sad that she's missing all of the stuff that's been happening at home. She asks to be excused for a moment and then leaves her room. All the girls round on poor Houjou. Two of Kagome's friends decide that Houjou doesn't know that Kagome has a "boyfriend" while the third friend starts talking about Kagome's "boyfriend" with Houjou. Houjou thinks that she was talking about him. The third friend starts to tell Houjou that Kagome has a boyfriend but friend #1 clamps a hand over her mouth while friend #2 tells Houjou that there's a guy who's following Kagome around.

Kagome is in the hallway when she meets Souta on the stairs. He tells her that Inuyasha is there.

Inuyasha is torturing poor Buyo. (He's a dog demon playing with a cat...ironic, ne?) Kagome asks him what's wrong and he tells her that he was just wondering how she was doing. Kagome starts coughing and Inuyasha tells her that he didn't come to bring her back. He tells her that she should rest and get better and if she wants to do that at home... he looks over and sees that where Kagome was, is now Souta.

Kagome is walking back upstairs towards her room, still coughing. Houjou is at the top of the stairs. Her friends are eavesdropping from her room. Houjou looks worried, and then he blushes. He asks her if there's anything she's worried about, and she seems confused. He tells her that he'd like her to ask him for help and he'll be of as much help as he can be. "In other words, um...we're...going out, so...a little thing like that..." he looks to where Kagome was but she's not there anymore (surprise surprise)

Kagome walks back into her room and sees her friends sitting at her desk, looking through her school notes. They tell her that tomorrow they have an academic aptitude test. Its results will count when they try to advise you on your career options. Kagome is "broken" about this bit of news. They are surprised to hear that she plans on taking the test. She starts coughing and the falls backwards, only to be caught by Houjou. She stands up to face him and then asks him to tutor her."

Inuyasha pokes his head to look through Kagome's window as she's sitting at her desk with a surgeon's mask over her face. His head disappears as Houjou walks up to Kagome and tutors her. As he's talking to her about theorems and formulas, she starts coughing again. All her friends and Houjou rush over to her. She tells Houjou to continue.

Inuyasha is sitting on the roof above Kagome's room.

At sunset, Kagome's friends and Houjou leave. She thanks them and goes back to study.

While Kagome is at her desk, Inuyasha is sitting on her bed. He asks her whether or not that "test" thing is important. They begin to argue, Inuyasha that Kagome's health is important and Kagome that her school is important. Then she starts coughing. She asks him to leave so he doesn't distract her from her studies. He opens the window and jumps out. Kagome closes the window after him and returns to her desk. There's a light tapping on her door and her mom comes in, asking her how she's feeling.

All the stuff Inuyasha brought is layed out in front of Shippo. There are crabs, clams, fish...and a whole lot of other stuff. Suddenly Inuyasha comes in looking very determined. He begins to dig through the stuff without saying a word. *commercials*

Kagome is still trying to study but she's not feeling very good.

Inuyasha comes into the house and asks to use the "wood oven." Kagome's mom asks if the gas stove would do.

Inuyasha has all his ingredients laid out on the table as a pot cooks on the stove. He takes something out of a jar and Souta's eyes get huge. They're livers from boars, carps, birds...and medicinal leaves and roots. Souta asks if he's intending on eating them and Inuyasha says, "not me"

Kagome is looking through her photo album. Inuyasha comes in with a steaming cup of...something. He hands it to her and tells her to drink. Souta is with him. She sniffs it and is thrown back by the odor. Inuyasha tells her that if she drinks it it'll make her feel better. Kagome starts to drink it, but it tastes horrible. Souta looks....horrified. Inuyasha tells her to bear with it. "Bad taste means it will work." As Kagome drinks it Souta backs away, completely terrified. "She's drinking it...Sis is drinking liver-drink...Liver...drink..." Kagome finishes it. Inuyasha tells her that his mom taught him a long time ago. He tells her that his mom used dry ingredients but he used raw ones. "Raw? Raw what?" He begins to tell her but Souta makes a giant "X" with his arms while shaking his head vigorously and Inuyasha finishes "well, its effectiveness is certain!" Kagome thanks him and then apologizes about earlier. He tells her to go to sleep.

The lights are dim and Kagome lies down. Inuyasha is sitting next to her bed and pats her legs. She asks if it's some sort of charm and he tells her that his mom used to do it in the past. Kagome falls asleep and Inuyasha picks up her photo album and looks through it.

Souta leaves for school. Kagome wakes up and stretches. She feels great. She looks at the clock and is horrified to see that it's 8:15. If she leaves now she'll be late. Inuyasha tells her that if she hurries she'll make it and then tells her to change quickly.

Inuyasha is speeding through the streets of Tokyo with Kagome on his back. He asks her if she'll make it in time and she says she will.

At school her friends are happy to see her. Inuyasha is sitting on the roof of the building as Kagome takes the test.

88 Three Spirits of the Monkey God

As Inuyasha and company walk by a ruined field, an entire village of people rush up to them and begin praising Inuyasha as the "Dog God." They explain that some monkeys have been destroying their fields, and, since monkeys are supposedly afraid of dogs, they want Inuyasha to get rid of the monkeys. Kagome, Shippo, and a reluctant Inuyasha set out to find the monkeys, but are attacked by a giant monkey demon. But the demon ends up being an illusion created by three little monkey spirits. After Inuyasha pounds them out of their illusion, one of the monkeys offers him a rock as a sign of surrender. Inuyasha unwittingly takes the rock...and it grows gigantic, and he becomes totally unable to remove it from his hand! The monkeys laugh at their triumph and run off. Shippo chases after them, and they engage in a cute battle of "tops, teeth, and transformations" which is quickly broken up after Kagome gives them all candy. When she asks them why they destroyed the fields, they explain that within the village they guarded the stone that the Monkey God resided in. But the shrine in which the stone was kept got destroyed during a war, and now they can't find it! And also, they forgot the spell for removing the giant rock from Inuyasha's hand! In the meantime, Inuyasha imagines what might happen if he doesn't get rid of the rock...with the rock holding him down, he couldn't stop Sesshomaru from stealing Tetsusaiga or Koga from stealing Kagome! Each of the monkeys says that the Monkey God came to them in a dream and gave them a clue as to his whereabouts(but the clues were different for each monkey.) For one monkey, "a wide place," another monkey, "narrow and uncomfortable," and the last monkey, "smell of vegetables." Inuyasha(still dragging the rock with him), Kagome, Shippo, and the monkeys ask around the village for clues about the stone. Each time they find a stone, it ends up being the wrong one and they have to try a different location...and all the while poor Inuyasha has to drag that heavy rock with him everywhere. By the time night comes, he's totally exhausted and they still haven't found the Monkey God's stone. While trying to figure out possible ways to get rid of the rock, Miroku and Sango joke about what Inuyasha would do when faced with a demon..."Claws of...Rock!?" And Kagome imagines that if Inuyasha tried to follow her down the well, the rock would get stuck in the opening. However, Inuyasha isn't amused by any of this.

That night, as Kagome keeps Inuyasha company outside, a woman carrying a plate full of vegtables walks by and Kagome senses some spiritual presence within it. Sure enough, the plate begins to glow and after Miroku pours some holy water onto it, the Monkey God pops out! The three monkey spirits are overjoyed and they tell the Monkey God how well they protected his stone..but actually after they pulled it out of the burning shrine, they got distracted by a bounty of acorns and left it in the forest! But anyway, after finally curing Inuyasha of his rocky burden, the Monkey God tells him and the others that some evil miasma came and went from the north eastern region. Inuyasha thinks that it could be Naraku, so they head off in that direction.
