Actually I think they've said that Primal is supposed to be in Central Europe so that kills that theory. I don't think this is gonna stop anyone from buying the game but it representative of just how much recycled content there is in a full-priced game. A game that probably should have been a much shorter experience, like Blood Dragon, but is padded out to make it seem like it's worth your $60.
That sounds like I just had a good sip of the haterade. It doesn't look like a bad game, just one that could be better if it was condensed.
It is possible that publishers & developers just don't know how long it takes to make a game any more?
Modern AAA development seems to come up with so many problems that nobody can give an accurate estimate of a release date any more. They should really just stop. I like the Far Cry Primal release schedule much better than the hype train that takes years & years with multiple delays, promised features that disappear, graphics that get downgraded so that it can run on consoles etc. etc.
It will be interesting to see how the game is paced with stopping after a certain part to watch an ep of the show. Also, like most episodic things, waiting after a cliffhanger sucks so I'll probably wait til it's all done & then play/watch at my own pace.
@Phelaidar: Yep, MS is bringing the console exclusive system to OS's. They're pushing Windows 10 over previous versions in the same way that they're pushing Xbox One over your old 360. You are however right that 10 won't bring any real advantages to this game, the real push will come when DirextX 12 titles start hitting shelves.
What's more concerning is that games on the Windows 10 Store are limited to windowed mode & have forced V-Sync, as a recent article on Rise of the Tomb Raider revealed. I'm guessing that a fighting game will have a capped framerate anyway but it's going to be harder to hit that framerate on a lower end machine without the ability to have exclusive fullscreen.
