Some people don't have legs. I guess we should all stop walking to keep things equal.

Not surprised that they can't hit 1080/60 on consoles, I just hope that they optimise PC enough. Black Flag looked great but it was pretty poorly optmised, framerates were all over the place. I'll be picking it up a while after release when patches are out & prices are down.

@sunyatanada76 Teach kids to love others the same as themselves, respect their parents & care for the vunerable? Eww.

Judge a whole group of people because you don't understand them? Isn't that bigotry?

Well it definitely rains more in PC land. Maybe I should hand my master race card in because other than the scenes where it was raining, I couldn't see much of a difference. I think it's more likely that the PC port was just limited to look mostly like the console versions. As for a 6GB GDDR ultra textures pack, that's pretty ridiculous. Even a brand new GTX980, the best single GPU card available on the market (and the game still doesn't support multiple GPUs), doesn't have that! You would have to run a Titan which is not even technically a gaming card. Even the high textures requiring 3GB of graphics RAM seems stupid. I couldn't tell much difference between the textures shown here & the console versions.

I'm certainly glad I didn't pre-order this game. It seems like the best way to play games these days is to wait for a few patches to be released.

(Also what's with the washed out PC footage Gamespot? doesn't really make for a fair comparison.)

I think one of the main reasons people hate EA so much is that they take good IPs & ruin them with their business model. Dragon Age: Origins was a great game but literally having a character in the game, at your camp fire no less, asking you to do a mission that you had to buy separately was hugely disrespectful to paying customers. Having a Prothean already in the game files of Mass Effect 3, unlockable only by pre-orders or day 1 DLC was another FU to fans of the series. Lying about the Sim City back end not being able to be handled by a single PC when the series had always been a single player offline game certainly didn't fool anyone either.

If a company just releases bad games, no-one really cares much. EA publishes some great games but actively tries to screw over their paying customers & exploit fans of long-running series. I really hope that they are genuinely turning things around & I really hope that Dragon Age: Inquisition doesn't bear the hallmarks of previous exploitation but I'm not ready to give them the benefit of the doubt just yet.

@wolf503 I'm looking forward to the Galaxy client being released. Hopefully that will shake the market up a bit.

As I said in the main article, at least they didn't call it Windows One.

I'm quite sceptical that they think this will be the last major Windows version though. That sounds like the urban myth of when they closed the patent office because they thought everything had been invented.

As for AC games, I really think they're taking the piss. People were already complaining that annual releases were too frequent & they were going to bleed the franchise dry just like Activision did with Guitar Hero.

@DamnILoveGames I haven't read anything but the textures were better than most I've seen. I wouldn't say the optimisation was amazing but they did patch it just after release which improved my framerates quite a bit. Framerate varies a lot depending on draw distance & other variables. I was able to stay pretty consistently above 60fps on an OC'd GTX670, sometimes over 90 depending what I was looking at or if I was in a cave.

This game would be fantastic in VR! I really hope they bring it to Oculus Rift or similar devices. It's an incredibly immersive experience & a VR headset would be perfect.

I finished the game in 3 hours, it could have been longer but I think a short high quality experience is good sometimes. Graphics are amazing & really help you to get lost in the world. You could call it "Dear Esther with puzzles" but that would be selling it short. I've played a few adventure puzzle games & the puzzles in Vanishing are nowhere near as difficult as that so people who don't like puzzle games shouldn't be put off.

@dr_jashugan I finished in 3. Depends how much you like the run button. Really good though.
